LONGINES Timeless Elegance Meets Tradition
INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY
LONGINES is delighted you have chosen a time-piece from its collection, which lives up to the brand’s long-established know-how, based on research combined with technical excellence and timeless elegance.
La Compagnie des Montres Longines, Francillon S.A. grants you, with effect from the purchase date, a twenty-four (24) month warranty on all LON- GINES® watches models and a five (5) year warranty on the automatic watches purchased from January 1, 2021, under the terms set out in this warranty. All watch straps and bracelets are covered by a 24-month international warranty for any material or manufacturing defects. The LONGINES international warranty covers defects in materials and manufacturing that exist at the time of delivery of the LONGINES watch purchased (“defects”). The warranty takes effect only if the warranty certificate has been dated and fully completed by an official LONGINES dealer (“valid warranty certificate”). During the term of the warranty and on presenting the valid warranty certificate, you are entitled to have any defect repaired free of charge. In the event that repairs cannot restore your LONGINES watch to full working order, La Compagnie des Montres Longines, Francillon S.A. undertakes to replace it with an identical LONGINES watch or another LONGINES watch with similar characteristics. The warranty for the replacement watch expires on the same date as the warranty for the replaced watch.
The warranty does not cover:
- battery life;
- normal wear and tear (such as scratches on the case and/or glass; alteration of the colour and/or material of cases, straps, bracelets and chains made of leather, textile, rubber or any other non-metallic material; the PVD coating; the colour of bronze);
- damage to any part of the watch resulting from unsuitable/improper use, neglect, carelessness, accidents (knocks, dents, crushing, scratches when changing the strap/bracelet, etc.), incorrect use of the watch, or failure to follow the instruction manual;
- harm of any nature whatsoever resulting directly or indirectly from using the LONGINES watch or from any operational failure, defect or lack of precision in the watch;
- a LONGINES watch handled by non-approved person (for example, for the purposes of replacing the battery or carrying out servicing or repairs) or having been altered from its original state other than under the supervision of La Compagnie des Montres Longines, Francillon S.A.
Any other claims against La Compagnie des Montres Longines, Francillon S.A., for example for any kinds of damage or harm other than those set out in this warranty, are expressly excluded, excepting statutory rights that the purchaser can assert against the manufacturer.
This manufacturer’s warranty:
- is independent of any warranty that may be provided by the vendor and for which the vendor accepts sole responsibility;
- in no way affects the purchaser’s rights against the vendor nor any other statutory right the purchaser may have against the vendor.

We are delighted you have become the owner of a LONGINES watch. We recommend you read this instruction manual carefully before using your LONGINES watch for the first time in order to ensure its correct operation and long life. If you would like more information about your watch or if it is fitted with a complication, you can find detailed information and tutorials by going to our website at www.longines.com/instruction-manual or by scanning the QR code.
Precautions concerning water-resistance
A watch’s water-resistance can be affected by changes caused by the gaskets drying out, or an accidental shock to the crown. To help maintain your watch’s water-resistance, we recommend rinsing it in soft water after any contact with sea water and having its water-resistance checked once a year by an approved LONGINES Service Centre. In no circumstances should you open your watch yourself.
IMPORTANT! Never activate the time-setting crown and/or push-pieces when the watch is underwater, and ensure that the crown and push-pieces are pushed in or screwed down before any immersion in water.
- The water-resistance values indicated in metres are equivalent to the overpressure applied under standard ISO 22810.

Hour and minute display, plus a retrograde small seconds, day, date, second
time zone time display, as well as the moon phase and day/night indicator.
Crown positions 2 and 3 are used to correct the hour, minute and seconds, and
accordingly the day, date and time of the second time zone.
Avoid any date correction, or use of the correctors 2 and 3, between 20:00
and 03:00; this could damage the mechanism.
Pull the crown out to position 3; the seconds hand will stop. This action
positions the day, date and 24H time zone hands outside of the retrograde
sectors.
Turn the crown either way so that the hands are positioned at midday (the sun
on the 24h indicator must be fully visible).
Push the crown back into position 1.
Time-setting and stop seconds
- Pull the crown out to position 3 when the small seconds hand (situated at 6 o’clock) returns to 0. This action positions the day, date and 24H time zone hands outside of the retrograde sectors.
- Turn the crown either way to the desired time display.
- As soon as the time is synchronised, push the crown back into position 1.
- This correction also affects the second time zone time, the day and date after each change at midnight, and takes effect when you push the crown back into position 1.
- If you have not been wearing your mechanical watch, it needs to be wound manually through thirty revolutions or so.
Quick time correction
Pull the crown out to position 2. This action positions the day, date and 24H
time zone hands outside of the retrograde sectors.
Turn the crown either way to move the hour hand forward or backward in
successive one-hour steps, without affecting the minute and seconds displays.
Please refer to the 24H indicator to adjust to the desired time, in terms of
a.m. or p.m.
Day correction
Press the corrector 2 situated at 2 o’clock to correct the day of the week
using the corrector tool.
Date correction
Press the corrector push-piece 3 situated at 4 o’clock to correct the date
using the corrector tool.
Correcting the second time zone time (24-hour hand)
Press corrector 4 to correct the second time zone time in successive one-hour
steps, without affecting the minute and seconds displays.
24-hour indicator: if you do not wish to use the second time zone function,
you can convert it into a 24-hour indicator by synchronising the second time
zone hand with your local time (24-hour time system).
Avoid any moon phase corrections between 15:00 and 18:00, as this function is
inactive during this period.
Moon phase correction
Press corrector 5 until the full moon appears in the centre of the moon phase
window.
Determine the date of the last full moon, and press the corrector as many
times as days elapsed since the last full moon.
Please note that when applying quick time correction, the synchronisation with
the 24h indicator will be modified.
Synchronising the second time zone time / 24-hour indicator
Example: you are on Swiss local time, and it is 8 a.m.; you know that there is
a + 8 time difference with Japan.
You have two options available:
Option A
Synchronise the second time zone with local time, using corrector 4.
Your watch will stay on the Swiss local date and time. Press corrector 4 to
correct the second time zone, so as to position the 24-hour hand to the
numeral 16 (Japanese time).
Option B
You are travelling to Japan and want your watch to display the local Japanese
date and time
Synchronise the second time zone with local time, using corrector 4.
Pull the crown out to position 2. This action positions the day, date and 24H
time zone hands outside of the retrograde sectors.
Correct the time by turning the crown forward, to position the hour hand at 4
(16:00 – Japanese time).
Then push the crown back into position 1. The second time zone display will
remain at 08:00 (Swiss time).
