Congratulations on the purchase of your new reer BabyCare baby scales. The baby scales consist of a curved weighing pan with LCD display and an integrated measuring tape. We are sure that you will be happy with the quality of our product. Please take a few minutes to read the safety instructions thoroughly. All of the points listed here must complied with before you can use the reer baby scales confidently. Please keep the instruction manual in a safe place for future reference.

General safety instructions

! Check the unit for visible damage before each use. If you detect any damage, do not use the unit.
! Other than opening the battery compartment to replace the batteries, the device must not be opened, as this can lead to electric shocks. If the device malfunctions, please do NOT try to fix the problem yourself. In this case, please contact your dealer.
! This product is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with the device.
! The baby scales are designed exclusively for measuring the bodyweight of infants and small children up to max. 25 kg/55 lb.
! Do not overload the device. The maximum permissible weight is 25 kg/ 55 lb. With higher loads, the measuring sensor may break.
! The enclosed batteries must not be charged or reactivated by any other means and must not be taken apart, thrown into a fire or short-circuited.
! The product is not a medical device.

Warning

! Please use the item only for its intended purpose.
! The product is for personal indoor use only and is not intended for commercial operation.
! Avoid extreme heat and direct sunlight.

Before first use

Open the battery compartment on the underside of the baby scales and insert the AAA batteries supplied.
Please note the correct polarity as you do so.
Please note : Batteries of different types or new and used batteries must not be used together.

Weight measurement

Use the baby scales on a level and firm surface so as not to affect the accuracy of the scales.
Switch on the scales as described below. As soon as the baby scales display , the device is ready for weighing your child.
Now carefully place your child in the curved weighing pan and wait until the final weight is displayed. If your child moves a lot during weighing, you can use the button to lock and save your child’s weight (see HOLD). If your child moves too much on the baby scales, the weight cannot be determined. Therefore, try to calm your child without touching them, as this can influence the weight measurement.

Functions

Switch on/off:
Briefiy press the button to switch on the baby scales. If you press and hold the button for 3 seconds, the baby scales switch off again. If no load is placed on the scales for 2 minutes, the scales switch off automatically. The display light switches off automatically after approx. 30 seconds. By pressing one of the buttons or placing any weight in the scales, the light is turned on again.

ZERO/ adjust function:
If you want to carry out a measurement with an additional weight (e.g. a towel or cushion), you must first tare (adjust for) its weight, so that the real weight of the child is not mis-represented.
To do this, place the additional weight (e.g. towel, pillow, etc.) in the weighing pan, wait for the measurement result and press the ZERO button to set the weight to zero. Take the weight off the scales. The measurement result is shown on the display.

HOLD:

Press the HOLD button when weighing to save your child’s weight. The triple fiashing of the displayed weight confirms the weight measurement has been saved successfully.
If a weight measurement has already been saved, the measured weight of your child and the change compared to the last saved measurement are displayed after three alternating flashes.

The arrows indicate whether your child is ↑ heavier compared to the last measurement or ↓ lighter.

NOTE! When removing or changing the batteries, all stored measured values are deleted! UNIT:

Press and hold the UNIT button for approx. 3 seconds to switch between kilograms (‘ kg”) and pounds (“lb”).

Tape measure:

To measure your baby’s size (e.g. head circumference), open the measuring tape cover on the right-hand side of the baby scales and pull out the measuring tape. To stow the tape measure away again, press and hold the button on the underside of the baby scales. The measuring tape is then automatically pulled back into the device .

Display

The maximum permissible total weight of 25 kg/ 55 lb has been exceeded. Please remove weight from the scales to prevent damage.

The baby scales batteries are flat. Please replace the batteries as described under Before first use.

Cleaning and maintenance

• For cleaning use only a slightly damp cloth and allow the baby scales to dry sufficiently afterwards.
• Do not submerge the device in water.
• Do not use chemical cleaning agents.
• Caution: Repairs to the device must be carried out by skilled personnel only.

Environmental protection

At the end of its useful life, this product must not be disposed of with normal household waste.
Owners of old devices have a duty to hand them in to a collection point for the recycling of electronic devices. Please contact your local council to find out more about an appropriate disposal centre. It may be possible to hand in small devices with a maximum edge length of less than 25 cm at an electrical retailer. The relevant symbol on the product, in the user manual or on the packaging refers to these duties.
