Product Overview

Choosing a location

Find a location that exposes the solar module to full sunlight to allow the rechargeable battery to recharge during the day.

Consider the following:

  • The solar panel should be exposed to maximum sunlight. Do not set up the product in the shade or under any cover.
  • Avoid the direct proximity of other light sources such as yard or streetlights, otherwise, the product will not switch on automatically at nightfall.

Wall mount

When penetrating the surface e.g. drilling or inserting fasteners, make sure no cables or pipes are damaged. Inadvertently penetrating electric cables causes the life-threatening danger of an electric shock!

  1. Use the mounting plate as a template to mark holes on the surface.
  2. Drill holes on the marked positions.
  3. Attach the product using the supplied dowels and screws.
Make sure the product is securely mounted before letting go.

Recharge batteries

Important:

To maximize charging efficiency, keep the solar panel(s) clean and free from debris.

Solar charge the battery under bright sunlight for at least 8 hours:

  • Before first use
  • After prolonged periods without exposure to sunlight e.g. rain.

Operation

Note:

There is an integrated light sensor that responds to ambient light levels. The product will be active when ambient light falls below a set level (nighttime). The product will deactivate when the ambient light rises above a set level (daytime).

Setting light modes

Preconditions:

  • Ambient light levels have dropped, and the motion sensor is active.
  • The battery is charged.
  1. Press and hold the mode button to switch the power ON/OFF.
  2. Press the mode button repeatedly to cycle through modes.
  3. The different modes are as follows:
Mode Indicator Description
A 1x flash 250 lm until dawn.
B 2x flash 100 lm + PIR trigger 1000 lm (30 secs.).
C 3x flash OFF + PIR trigger 1000 lm (30 secs.).
D 4x flash 1000 lm until dawn

Notes:

  • The indicator is relatively dim and may not be visible in bright conditions.
  • If the rechargeable battery is getting low, the max. brightness levels may be lowered to prolong battery life.

Motion detection

For best motion detection:

  • The subject should move across the sensor.
  • The sensor should not be placed behind glass.

Note:

  • The sensor should be mounted at a maximum height of 2.5 – 3 meters.
  • Detection range: max. 5 m
  • Detection angle: 120°
