Product Information
The Granulator is a machine used for grinding pipes, profiles, fittings, and sprues. It is designed with safety features to ensure the user’s protection during operation. The machine has a main isolator switch, an emergency stop button, and various hatches for feeding and accessing the grinding area. It is important to follow the safety instructions and wear the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) when operating the Granulator.
Product Usage Instructions
- Before operating the machine, ensure that you are wearing a full-face defender, ear defender, and safety boots.
- Check that a safety check has been completed and signed off. If not, consult a Manager or setter before switching on the machine.
- Familiarize yourself with the location of the red emergency stop button and understand when to use it.
- Turn on the main isolator switch on the wall and then use the switch at the back of the machine to turn on the Granulator.
- After the Granulator has been running for 2 minutes, you can start grinding pipes/profiles through the hatch located at the side of the machine. Ensure that the pipes/profiles are not over 1 meter in length and avoid overfeeding the granulator.
- If grinding pipe fittings or sprues, use the hatch at the rear of the machine. Wear gloves during this process and avoid overfeeding the granulator.
- After approximately 20 minutes of grinding, empty the catch bin. To do this, press the red button to turn off the machine, wait for 20 seconds, then turn off the isolator switch. Open the main front doors to allow the motor to stop rotating.
- Use the shovel provided to empty the contents into a large barrel. Wear a dust mask during this process. Remember to label the barrel with a description of the material.
- Once the catch bin is empty, insert it back into the machine and close the doors. Then, proceed with steps 5 and 6 to continue the grinding process.
- When grinding is complete, tidy up the granulator room and turn off the isolator switch.
- Only operate the machine if you have received training and authorization from a Manager.

4| Turn on the main isolator switch on the wall, and turn on the granulator
using the switch situated at the back of the machine.|
5| After the granulator has been running for 2 minutes, you can start grinding
the pipe/profiles through the hatch at the side of the machine. These Must not
be over 1mtrs in length. Do not overfeed the granulator.|
6| If grinding pipe fittings or sprues the hatch at the rear of the machine
should be used, wear gloves when grinding fittings or sprues, and do not
overfeed the granulator.|
7| After grinding for approx. 20 minutes empty the catch bin, to do this turn
off the machine using the red button, wait 20 seconds then turn off the
isolator switch, and open the main front doors, this will give time for the
motor to stop rotating.|
8| Empty contents into a large barrel using the shovel provided, dust mask
MUST be used when emptying the bin. Label barrel with material description.|
9| Once the catch bin is empty, insert this back into the machine and close
the doors, then start process 5/6.|
10| When grinding is complete tidy the granulator room and turn off the
isolator switch.|
11| Do not use any machine unless trained and authorized by Manager.|
