Safety instructions for using of the appliance
ATTENTION: Risk of injury or burns!
The surfaces of the housing as well as the cooking surface get hot during
operation. Hot surfaces remain hot for some time even after switching off!
Thus, work with caution:
- We recommend the use of potholders and suitable cooking utensils for protection!
- Do not use the top of the appliance as a storage or work surface, as it will become hot when the appliance is in use! To protect against the risk of fire, do not place any objects made of paper, plastic, fabric or other inflammable materials on hot surfaces!
- Only use induction-suitable pots or pans with a smooth, even base and a suitable diameter. If the bottom of the pan is uneven or too small, you will waste energy. The cooking plate and the bottom of the pot must always be clean and dry.
- Objects made of metal such as knives, forks, spoons and lids, should not be placed on the hob as they can become hot.
- WARNING: Unattended cooking on hobs using fat or oil can be dangerous and lead to fires. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water but switch off the appliance and then cover the flames with a lid or a fire blanket for example.
- CAUTION: Always watch the cooking process. Also a short cooking process must be constantly monitored.
- WARNING: Fire hazard: Never place objects on the hob.
- Never spray cold water on the hot hob!
- The appliance and all accessory parts must be completely cooled down before they can be cleaned!
- Only use the appliance, if it has been installed in accordance with these instructions!
- Never use oven spray or stain remover for cleaning and do not use steam cleaners! Special cleaners for glass ceramic surfaces are available in stores.
- Avoid scratches caused by pointed or sharp objects. Protect the glass plate from breakage caused by falling objects.
- If cracks, fissures or fractures appear on the glass surface and if it can be assumed that safe operation is not possible, switch off the appliance immediately and disconnect it from the power supply.
- After use, switch off the hob using the main switch of the touch control. Do not rely solely on the pot detection function.
- WARNING: Only protective covers from the manufacturer or protective covers approved or recommended by the manufacturer in the instruction manual may be used. The use of unsuitable protective covers can lead to accidents!
- The induction technology complies with the applicable EMC standards and EMF guidelines and should not cause any interference with other electronic appliances. Persons with pacemakers or other electronic implants should check with their doctor or the manufacturer of the implants whether they offer sufficient interference immunity.
- Only connect the cooking hob directly to a permanently installed socket. Never use multiple socket outlets.
- The permanently installed socket must be protected by a 16 A fuse. If the tripping value of the fuse is lower, a power limitation must be set in accordance with these instructions (see page 33).
Installation instructions
Installation as well as repairs of the appliance must be effected by qualified specialists only. Otherwise, considerable hazards may be posed to users. Always unplug the appliance prior to each intervention in the appliance!
The manufacturer does not accept liability for malfunctions caused by improper installation!
- mounting brackets and fixing screws provided with supplied installation kit
-
The cooking hob is designed for installation into worktops with a thickness of 30 – 50 cm.
-
Please note: Before installation, a tabletop cut-out must be made as shown in the illustration.
-
The niche cut-out must have a sufficient distance (at least 5 cm) to the rear wall and the side walls to prevent overheating. A high cabinet can be fitted on one side, but at least two sides must be freely accessible to ensure sufficient air circulation. A sufficient ventilation gap must be left between the bottom edge and the intermediate shelf.
-
Make sure that the cut-out in the worktop corresponds to the recommended dimensions. Installing the cooktop too close can lead to mechanical stresses during heating or partially block the air outlets of the generator.
-
To avoid overheating, always ensure that there is sufficient air circulation, including under the appliance.
-
The air inlet is located on the underside of the generator housing. An air gap of at least 15 mm below the generator is recommended. The air outlet is located on the left-hand side of the appliance.
-
In addition, an air outlet in the furniture with at least 2 mm to the front is recommended. Closed furniture around the induction hob leads to a reduction in performance. It must be avoided that warm air from the outlets is drawn in by the air inlet fan. Additional ventilation openings must be provided behind the furniture and between the worktop and the induction generator.
-
Avoid warm air from the outlets being sucked in again by the air supply fan.
-
Select the position for the installation cut-out so that the built-in hob does not interfere with or block drawers or other items of furniture.
-
Please note that the plastic covering, or veneer of built-in furniture must be processed with heat-resistant adhesive (100 °C).
-
Do not install above cooling appliances, dishwashers, unventilated ovens or washing machines!
-
Make sure that the mains cable is not pinched when inserting the hob into the worktop.
-
Keep a distance of at least 1 m from objects that are sensitive to electromagnetic radiation (e.g. screens, clocks, electronic devices and magnetic data carriers).
-
Use the sealing tape supplied and stick it all the way round the underside of the glass surface, leaving a small gap to the outer edge.
-
Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before installation. Do not connect the appliance to the mains using an extension cable.
-
If the hob is to be connected to an electrical system that requires reduced power consumption (e.g. operation with an inverter), the power must be limited accordingly.
(See “Adjustable power limitation”, page 33). -
An electrical installation that connects the appliance directly to the power circuit instead of using the safety plug and a permanently installed socket may only be carried out by a qualified electrician!
- Furniture front
- Built-in hob
- Kitchen furniture
- Air flow
Important information
- Only use pots or pans suitable for induction, i. e. made of ferromagnetic material. Copper, aluminium and ceramic material are not recognised. Sandwich constructions (e.g. aluminium pot with iron plate in the base) are suitable. The logo “suitable for induction” indicates suitable cookware.
Tip: Test the suitability of the pot or pan bottom using a magnet. If it sticks to the outside of the bottom, the cookware is suitable for induction.
- Always keep the glass ceramic plate and the base of the pan clean and dry.
- To ensure good temperature control, the bottom of the cookware should be as flat as possible. An air gap (e.g. embossing with the manufacturer’s logo in the centre) significantly impairs temperature monitoring and can lead to damage (e.g. deformed bottom surfaces due to overheating).
- Place the cookware directly on the glass ceramic. Do not place any paper, cloths or coasters over the pot. Risk of burns!
- Do not leave any food wrapped in aluminium foil, cutlery, pot lids or other metal objects on the glass ceramic hob, as these can become hot.
- Never use oven spray or stain remover for cleaning! You can buy special cleaners for the glass ceramic hob in shops.
- Avoid scratches caused by pointed or sharp objects on the glass ceramic hob. Protect the glass ceramic hob from breakage caused by falling objects.
Cooking with your induction hob
Connecting the appliance to the mains
- Connect the appliance to a properly installed socket.
Note: After the appliance has been connected to the mains, the appliance calibrates automatically (system initialization). The field flashes for 2 minutes and the appliance cannot be operated during this time. This is also the case when the appliance is started after power failure or alike.
ON/OFF sensor (main switch)
The ON/OFF sensor is used to switch the control unit respectively the complete hob on and off.
Switching ON the control unit
- Press the ON/OFF sensor for 1 second until you hear a short confirmation tone. The Touch Control electronics switches on and alternates from OFF mode to operating mode. The symbol lights up with a flashing dot on the display of both cooking zones to indicate that the appliance is switched on. (This display may recede into the background by the display of the residual heat or an error code).
- If no further input is made within 10 seconds after switching ON, the control unit automatically switches back to OFF mode.
Switching OFF the control unit
If in operating mode, the control unit can be switched off at any time by touching the ON/OFF switch. Switching off has always priority, even if further sensors are being touched simultaneously or child protection has been activated.
Cooking zone sensors
The and sensors are used to select the desired cooking zone.
Note: The touch sensor can be found on the right-hand side of the display next to the respective symbol on the control panel.
Slide sensors
The slide sensors are used to select the desired cooking level.
Power level (booster function)
With the booster function, maximum power for a cooking zone can be selected
temporarily. To do so, select the power level . For safety reasons, the
appliance switches back from to level after 5 minutes.
Note: The cooking levels can only be set to a value that does not exceed the total power of the appliance. If, for example, the power level of one cooking zone is active, the second cooking zone cannot be operated at maximum power. These values are further reduced if the power limit is set to a lower value, e. g. when installed in a camping vehicle (see page 33).
Attention! The booster function may only be used to heat water. Extremely high temperatures can be reached when using the booster function with oil or grease, resulting in a risk of fire!
Automatic cooking system
Just like the booster, this function is used to start heating up with high
power. Unlike the booster, the automatic cooking system switches back to a
lower cooking level after the heating up phase. Select the desired cooking
level by touching the corresponding value on the slider control for approx. 3
seconds. A signal tone sounds, and the symbol and the value of the selected
cooking level flash alternately on the display. After the heating up time
(depending on the selected cooking level) a signal tone sounds, and the
cooking zone keeps on heating at the lower level.
Bridge function
If you want to use the complete hob with one pot or pan e.g. with a
roasting pan, you can connect both cooking zones to one zone.
To do so, touch the sensors and simultaneously until a signal tone sounds and
the rear cooking zone display shows the symbol. The front cooking zone display
shows the cooking level of the connected cooking zone.
Keeping warm
The keep warm functions keeps food warm at approx. 70 °C without the risk
of burning or boiling over. To activate the keep warm function, select the
desired cooking zone and touch the sensor. The display shows the symbol. The
keep warm function is now activated until another power level is selected or
the appliance is switched off. For your safety, the appliance switches off
automatically after 8 hours (operating time limit).
Timer – – –
The electronic control unit provides a TIMER for each cooking zone, which can
be used to switch off the cooking zones automatically.
The TIMER is designed as a “countdown TIMER” and times from 1 to 99 minutes
can be set. The set time is counted down to 0, after which a visual and
audible alarm is signalled.
- Activate a cooking zone and select the desired cooking level. Then, touch the Time symbol (- – -). Now, you can set the desired run time in hours and minutes by using the + and – sensors.
- The countdown starts by touching the cooking zone sensor or after a short while automatically and is shown in the display. A flashing clock which is shown above the selected cooking zone indicates that the timer is activated.
- The timer is deactivated by reducing the cooking level of the cooking zone to .
- Once the set time has elapsed, the TIMER switches the cooking zone OFF automatically and an alarm sounds. The duration of the alarm signal (default: 120 seconds) can be adjusted in the user menu (p. 31). Touching any sensor or switching off the appliance also stops the alarm.
Timer (independent of cooking process)
You can also use the timer without automatically switching off the cooking
zones:
- Touch the sensor while the appliance is being switched on.
- The time display shows . Select the desired time in hours and minutes by means of the + and – sensors.

objects or spilled food on the control panel), an acoustic error message
(warning tone) is emitted, the error code appears in the display and the
appliance is locked for operation.
Self-help: Remove the cause of the permanent activation. The appliance
switches off and the error code disappears. After switching on again, the
appliance can be put back into operation.
Residual heat indication /
The residual heat indication not only warns you of a cooking zone that is
still hot after switching off, but also indicates the residual heat that can
still be used. The display shows the . symbol. Do not touch the hot cooking
zone! The residual heat indication remains activated even in OFF mode. If the
residual heat drops, the display is replaced by . The display will soon go
out.
Key lock
The key lock enables the sensors to be deactivated so that unintentional
changes to the settings are prevented. The control unit continues to operate
in the previously set mode (also Off mode), but no other sensors can be
operated – except for the ON/OFF sensor for switching off the appliance.
-
To activate the key lock, touch the sensor sensor for approx. 2 seconds when the appliance is switched on. An acoustic signal sounds and the display shows permanently.
Note: An active key lock is also retained in OFF mode. -

Disposal/recycling
Packaging material
Do not simply throw the packaging material away but recycle it. Deliver
paper, cardboard and corrugated cardboard to waste paper collection points.
Also put plastic packaging material and foils into the specific collection
containers.
The printed or embossed markings indicate the materials whichwere used: PE stands for polyethylene (code 02 means high-density PE, 04 stands for low- density PE), PS stands for polystyrene and CPE for chlorinated polyethylene. PAP 20 means corrugated cardboard and PAP 21 other cardboard. All plastics are thermoplastics which are very easy and efficient to produce. They are also very easy to recycle and therefore can even have a smaller ecological footprint than comparable cardboard packaging.
