Host Computer:
- An available USB-C Port
Note: Not all USB-C Ports support the full functionality of the USB-C standard. Ensure that the Host Computer’s USB-C Port supports DP Alt Mode, as well as USB Power Delivery.
Display:
- An HDMI® Display
- Two DisplayPort Displays
Note: A 4K-capable display is required to achieve 4K x 2K resolution (4K is also known as 4K x 2K).
Cables:
Cable requirements are optional and will depend on the port configuration of the connected Host Computer.

Installing the Docking Station
Installing the Drivers
Depending on your operating system, the Docking Station will automatically
install some of the required drivers once connected to your host laptop. To
complete the full driver installation process:
- Download the latest drivers by visiting www.StarTech.com/Support
- Extract the contents of the compressed file(s) that you downloaded.
- Double-click the appropriate driver for the version of Windows or macOS that you’re running and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Note: If you are prompted to restart your computer, do so to complete the installation.
Powering the Docking Station
When the Docking Station is plugged in and powered, you can use USB-C Power Delivery to power and charge the Host Computer through the USB-C Port. The Docking Station cannot receive power from the Host Computer, the Power Adapter must always be connected to the Docking Station.
- Select the appropriate Power Cord for your region and connect it to the Power Adapter.
- Connect the Power Adapter to an AC Electrical Outlet and the other end to the DC 20V Port on the Docking Station.
- Connect the USB-C Cable to a USB-C Port on the Host Computer and the other end to the USB-C Host Port on the Docking Station.
- Make sure that the On/Off Button is in the On position.
Connecting Devices to the Docking Station
USB-A Port
The USB-A Ports can be used as charging ports (e.g. Cell Phone, Tablet, etc.),
to connect a USB storage device (e.g. Flash Drive) to display data/files on
the connected Host Computer, or used with a USB Peripheral Device (Keyboard,
Mouse, etc.).
Connecting a Device to the USB-A Port
- Connect a USB-A Cable to the USB-A Port on the Docking Station.
- Connect the other end of the USB-A Cable to a USB Port on the USB Device.
Note: The USB-A Port on the side of the Docking Station can fast-charge devices that comply with USB Battery Charg-ing Specification Revision 1.2.
USB-C Host Port
The USB-C Port will allow the Host Computer to connect to any device that is
connected to the Docking Station while charging the Host Computer.
Connecting a Host Using the USB-C Port
- Connect a USB-C Cable to the USB-C Port on the Docking Station.
- Connect the other end of the USB-C Cable to a USB-C Port on the Host Computer.
USB-C Port
The USB-C Port can be used as charging ports (e.g. Cell Phone, Tablet, etc.) or can be used to connect a USB storage device (e.g. Flash Drive) to display data/files on the connected Host Computer or used with a USB Peripheral Device (Keyboard, Mouse, etc.).

RJ45 Port (Network Device)
- Connect a Network Cable to the RJ45 Port on the Docking Station.
- Connect the other RJ45 Connector to an RJ45 Port on your compatible Network Device.
HDMI Port
The HDMI Port is used to connect an HDMI Device (e.g. Display, etc.) to the Docking Station.
- Connect an HDMI Cable to the HDMI Port on the Docking Station.
- Connect the other end of the HDMI Cable to an HDMI Port on your Display Device.
DisplayPort Port
The DisplayPort Ports are used to connect Displays to the Docking Station.
- Connect a DisplayPort Cable to the DisplayPort Port on the Docking Station.
- Connect the other end of the DisplayPort Cable to a DisplayPort Port on your Display Device.
Audio Options
Mic Port:
The Mic Port is used to connect a Microphone to the Docking Station for use with a Host Computer.
- Connect an Audio Cable to the Mic Port on the Docking Station.
- Connect the other end of the Audio Cable to the Connector (e.g. XLR Connector) on the bottom of the Microphone.
Speaker Port:
The Speaker Port is used to connect an Audio Device (e.g. Speakers) to the Docking Station for use with the connected Host Computer.
- Connect an Audio Cable to the Speaker Port on the Docking Station.
- Connect the other end of the Audio Cable to the Audio In Port on the Audio Device.
Headset Port:
The Headset Port is used to connect an Audio Device (e.g. Headphones) to the Docking Station for use with the connected Host Computer.
- Connect an Audio Cable to the Headset Port on the Docking Station.
- Connect the other end of the Audio Cable to the Audio In Port on the Audio Device.
Note: If you have audio devices plugged in both the Speaker Port and the Headset Port, the audio device plugged into the Headset Port takes priority over the device plugged into the Speaker Port.
Lock Slot
The Lock Slot is used in combination with a Laptop Lock (sold separately) to secure the Docking Station.
Fast Charging a Device
To fast-charge a device, connect it to the USB-A Port on the side of the Docking Station.
Notes: This USB-A Port can only fast-charge connected devices that comply
with USB Battery Charging Specification Revision 1.2.
A connection to a host laptop is not required to charge your device when it’s
connected to the USB fast-charge port.
Installing the Anti-Slip Pads
- Remove the adhesive backing from the pads.
- Align each of the pads on the bottom of the Docking Station.
- While applying pressure, affix the pad to the bottom of the Docking Station.
