Thank you for purchasing the Beat-Sonic Video Navigation In-Motion Controller. Designed and made in Japan, this product represents our commitment to quality and excellence. Please read this manual carefully before installing this product to ensure correct operation.

IMPORTANT

  • This product is intended for use by the passengers of the vehicle. Under no circumstances should the driver operate the navigation system or watch videos while the vehicle is in motion.
  • This product is installed using the factory harness connectors. There are, however, multiple factory harness connectors of the same size and shape.
  • Do not plug into the wrong connector or serious damage may result.
  • Navigation accuracy and the actual vehicle position within the map may be reduced when video playback while in motion is activated.
  • Check the Beat-Sonic website for the latest vehicle compatibility information before installing.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Install Carefully: Perform installations with patience and due care to prevent damage to this product or any part of the vehicle.
  • Always grasp the connector plug when disconnecting the cable harness. Never disconnect connectors by pulling on the harness wires, as serious damage can occur.
  • Check Connectors: Ensure all connectors, cables, and terminals are correctly secured and fully inserted.
  • Loose and/or improperly secured connectors will cause malfunction.
  • Do Not Modify: Do not disassemble, modify, or attempt to repair this device.
  • Obey Traffic Laws: Always use this product by local traffic regulations.

Controller Module Installation

  • Turn off the ignition and wait for at least 10 minutes before disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery.
  • Remove all necessary parts to gain access to the rear of the factory head unit. The method of disassembly varies for each vehicle. If unsure, please contact Beat-Sonic for vehicle-specific instructions.
  • Viewing the head unit from the rear, disconnect the vehicle harness’s leftmost 28-pin connector and middle 30-pin connector from the back of the factory head unit.
  • Connect the Controller Module harness connector labeled A to the leftmost 28-pin connector location. Connect the Controller Module harness connector labeled B to the middle-pin connector location.
  • Reconnect the vehicle harness 28-pin connector and 30-pin connector to the Controller Module harness in a daisy chain configuration as shown in the diagram below.

Selector Button Installation

  • Locate a suitable vacant switch blank in the vehicle that matches one of the 3 supplied switch blank adapters. Clip the switch blank adapter into place.
  • Note that if no vacant switch blank is available in the vehicle then the selector button can be mounted directly onto a flat surface using the pre-applied double-sided tape.
  • Insert the 4-pin selector button connector through the switch blank adapter and connect it to the controller module.
  • Remove the adhesive backing from the selector button and secure it into place inside the switch blank adapter.
  • Using the double-sided tape provided, secure the Controller Module to a flat surface inside the dash. Use the wrapping sheet to protect any cables that come into contact with metal edges where necessary.
  • Confirm all connectors are fully connected before re-installing panels and fasteners in the reverse order of disassembly to complete the installation.

Operation

Turn ON (Default Mode): Press and hold the selector button for at least 2 (two) seconds to activate video & navigation in-motion. The LED will indicate green.
Turn OFF: Press and hold the selector button again for at least 2 seconds to turn OFF. In the default mode, the Video Navigation In-Motion Controller resets to OFF each time the vehicle is started.
Accidental Press Protection: Pressing the button briefly for less than 2 seconds will result in the LED turning red (Error Mode). Press again briefly for less than 2 seconds to return to OFF mode.

A Programmable Settings
This device has 2 different operational modes for controlling video and navigation in motion:
Default Mode: Video and navigation in-motion resets to OFF each time the ignition is turned OFF. The selector button must be pressed to activate video and navigation in motion each time the vehicle is started.
Auto Mode: When the vehicle is started, video and navigation in motion will automatically activate. Manual activation by pushing the selector button is not required.

How to Change the Programmable Settings

  • Press and hold the selector button, then turn the ignition from OFF to ACC.
  • Keep the button pressed continuously for at least 10 seconds to observe the LED indicator changes from OFF -> ON -> Flashing RED.
  • Release the selector button and observe the flashing RED LED as follows:
  • Press the selector button to cycle between the settings modes.
  • After selecting the desired setting mode, press and hold the selector button for at least 3 seconds and observe the LED change from flashing to OFF.
  • Release the button to exit programming mode.

ATTENTION: 28-PIN CONNECTOR
The Radio Receiver Unit has multiple identical 28-pin connectors. DO NOT connect Cable A to the rightmost connector or serious damage may occur. Connect Cable A to the leftmost connector.
