TOOLS REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP:
AUTO PANEL REMOVAL TOOL
STEP | 01 LAYOUT AND INSTALL PREP
Door Panel Removal : If applicable, start by removing the lower interior
door panel (FIG 1) and any obstructions in the areas shown in FIG 2 (wires,
insulation, etc.). We recommend using plastic panel removal tools (easily
found at harbor freight or similar). Be gentle when prying as to not break the
factory panel clips. Once you get the first few popped you should be able to
pull it the rest of the way with your hands.
NOTE – You may have any number of different door configurations- stock
full trim (Pictured FIG 1), stock half trim, stock panel, upholstered wood,
etc. Each require their own removal method.
Note for NCV3 Models – For NCV3 Models, align the ladder to rest on the side
bumper when the door is fully open. Some models may have conflicts with the
ladder and the bumper on the back door. In this case, either purchase a
shorter bumper or adjust the ladder position to avoid conflicts.
Note for VS30 Models with 270° Hinges – For VS30 Models equipped with 270°
Hinges, the ladder may contact the side of the van. Place a rubber bumper or
neoprene cushion where contact could occur to protect the vehicle’s paint from
scratches.
NOTE – Sometimes the clips will get stuck in the door. All you need to do
is pop them out and slide them back in to their location on the trim panel.

-
Mark Lower Backing Plate Mounting Hole: Seat the Lower Backing Plate in the door cavity and mark your drill hole through the bracket. Double-check your measurements before drilling. The drill hole should be roughly 11.25” from the center door seam and 15” up from the bottom door seam.
NOTE – These measurements are guidelines only. Be sure that all measurements are accurate before drilling. -
Drill the First Hole and Position the Ladder: Once the holeis drilled, have a helper assist in loosely bolting the ladder in place. Align the ladder to your preference (following the door seam line is recommended), and mark the remaining hole locations through the mounting brackets.
-
Drill Remaining Holes: After marking the hole locations, remove the ladder and drill out the remaining mount holes.
-
Paint Raw Edges: To prevent rust, it is recommended topaint around the drilled holes.

STEP | 03 LADDER INSTALL

3/8-16 Button Head Screws through themounting holes, then position the backer
plates as shown in FIG 7 and 9. Secure the ladder with 3/8” Lock Washers And
Nylon Locknuts, tightening them snugly. Drive two (2) Self- Drilling Screws
