The purpose of this guide is to assist you in correctly operating your Twin Stim® Plus 3rd Edition unit. This device should only be used under the continued supervision of a healthcare professional. This guide is not intended to replace or substitute the Twin Stim® Plus 3rd Edition Instruction Manual. PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL COMPLETELY BEFORE USING THIS DEVICE. Read, understand and practice the contraindications, warnings, cautions and operating instructions found on page 25 of your instruction manual. Always follow the operating instructions prescribed by your healthcare provider.

INDICATION FOR USE
The TENS and IF modes are often prescribed for:
- Symptomatic relief of chronic intractable pain
- Reduction of inflammation
- Post-traumatic acute pain and edema
- Post-surgical acute pain and edema
The EMS and RUSSIAN modes are often prescribed for:
- Relaxation of muscle spasms and edema reduction
- Prevention or retardation of disuse atrophy
- Increasing local blood circulation
- Muscle re-education
- Maintaining or increasing range of motion
- Immediate post-surgical stimulation of lower leg muscles to prevent venous thrombosis

IMPORTANT!
Steps 1-4 should be performed with the device turned OFF. Once the unit has
been turned ON, do not remove the electrodes without first turning OFF the
device.
1. INSERT BATTERY Remove battery cover from back of deviceInsert four AA
batteries, matching the + and – ends as indicated inside the unit.
2. CONNECT LEAD WIRES TO ELECTRODES
Firmly insert the end of the lead wire pin into the electrode connectors.
Make sure the connection is complete and no bare metal of the pins is exposed.
3. CONNECT LEAD WIRES TO DEVICE There are four sockets located at the
top of the unit. Insert the lead wire(s) firmly into the socket(s) you intend
to use.
The four corresponding LEDs will light up when there is electrical current
output.
4. PLACE ELECTRODES ON SKIN Remove electrodes from protective backing.
Keep backing to properly store electrodes after use.
Before applying electrodes, make sure the skin at the application site is
clean and dry.
5. TURN ON DEVICE The unit can be turned on by pressing the power ON/OFF
button.
6. SELECT THERAPEUTIC MODE AND PROGRAM There are 4 therapeutic modes
available: TENS, EMS, IF and RUSS.
The therapeutic mode and program can be selected by pressinG the mode button.
7. ADJUST OUTPUT INTENSITY 8. TURN OFF DEVICE After treatment, turn
the device off by pressing the ON/OFF button.
A low battery indicator will appear on the LCD screen when the battery needs
to be replaced. The unit may continue to operate for a few hours depending on
the setting intensity level.
9. REMOVAL, CARE, AND STORAGE
Turn off the unit prior to removing the electrodes.
Lift edge of the electrode and gently pull in the direction of any hair on
skin surface.
Do not pull on the lead wires, as this may damage the electrode.
Place the electrodes back onto the protective liner and place inside the
resealable bag. The electrodes may be reused, however they are intended for
single patient use only.
Electrodes should be discarded and reordered when they are no longer adhering.

TENS SETTING
After the TENS mode has been selected, press SET button to enter next setting
and press the and buttons to adjust its value. The settings will be stored in
2 seconds after selected. To set Timer, please refer to SETTING THE TIMER

1. SELECT MODE Select 1 of 5 mode optins (B, N, M, SD1 and SD2) by
pressing the MODE control button. After mode is selected, press SET to enter
next setting. Press the and buttons to adjust its value.
2. SET PULSE WIDTH Pulse width is adjusted from 50 μs to 300 μs. Press
SET button to enter menu, and press the and buttons to adjust the setting.
3. SET PULSE RATE Pulse rate is adjusted from 2 Hz to 150 Hz.
In burst (B) mode the parameters are 0.5 Hz to 5 Hz. Press SET button to enter
menu, and then the and buttons to adjust the setting.
EMS SETTING
After the EMS mode has been selected, press SET button to enter next setting
and press the and buttons to adjust its value. The settings will be stored in
2 seconds after selected. To set Timer, please refer to SETTING THE TIMER

1. SELECT MODE
Select 1 or 3 mode options (C, S, and A) by pressing the MODE control button.
After mode is selected, press SET to enter next setting. You may adjust the
setting only when it is flashing. Press the and buttons to adjust its value.
2. SET RAMP TIME The ramp time controls the time of output current. Each
contraction may be ramped up or down to assure the signals come on and off
smoothly. Press the and buttons to adjust the setting. The ramp time is
adjustable from 1 to 8 seconds.
3. SET ON TIME ON time controls the time of stimulation. Press SET to
control the contraction. Stimulation is cycled on and off by the contraction
and relaxation settings. The range is adjustable from 2-90 seconds, and should
be equal or greater than the ramp up and down times combined.
4. SET OFF TIME
OFF time (S) controls the time of relaxation. Press SET to enter menu.
Stimulation is cycled on and off by the contraction and relaxation settings.
The range is adjustable from 2-90 seconds. In alternate mode, OFF time should
be equal or greater than the ON time.
5. SET PULSE WIDTH Pulse width is adjusted from 50 μs to 300 μs. Press
SET button to enter menu, and press the and buttons to adjust the setting.
6. SET PULSE RATE Pulse rate is adjusted from 2 Hz to 150 Hz. Press SET
button to enter menu, and then the and buttons to adjust the setting.
IF SETTING
After the IF mode has been selected, press SET button to enter next setting
and press the and buttons to adjust its value. The settings will be stored in
2 seconds after selected. You cannot change Pulse Width setting in IF, as it
is fixed at 125 μs To set Timer, please refer to SETTING THE TIMER

it is flashing. Press the and buttons to adjust its value of 1 Hz to 150 Hz.
In Modulation (M) mode the parameters are 1 Hz to 80 Hz.
RUSSIAN SETTING
After the RUSS mode has been selected, press SET button to enter next setting
and press the and buttons to adjust its value. The settings will be stored in
2 seconds after selected. To set Timer, please refer to SETTING THE TIMER

Select 1 of 3 mode options (N, M, and M1) by pressing the MODE control
button. After mode is selected, press SET to enter next setting. You may
adjust the setting only when it is flashing. Press the and buttons to adjust
its value.
2. SET PULSE RATE
Press the SET button to enter this mode. You may adjust the setting only when
it is flashing. Press the and buttons to adjust its value of 20 Hz to 80 Hz.
SETTING THE TIMER
There are two adjustable timers available for each therapeutic mode. The left
timer controlds the treatment timre for Channels 1 and 2. The right timer
controls the treatment time for Channels 3 and 4.
The treatment time is adjustable from 1 to 60 minutes or Continuous. Press SET
to enter this menu, then press the and buttons to adjust the setting.
To switch the timer to Continuous stimulation, press the buttons when the
timer shows 60 minutes.
Both timers can be set in the same manner.
USING THE COMPLIANCE METER
For your convenience, the Twin Stim™ Plus 3rd Edition unit can store 60 sets of operation records. The total treatment time can store up to 999 hours. TO CHECK AND/OR DELETE INDIVIDUAL RECORDS, the device must be turned off to begin this process. Press the MODE and POWER button at the same time. The LCD will show the number of records and operation time. Press the and buttons to check each record. To delete a record, press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds. TO CHECK AND/OR DELETE THE ACCUMULATIVE RECORDS , press the MODE button to switch to this setting to show Hr screen. Press the SET button first, then press the SET and MODE buttons simultaneously and hold for 3 seconds. All of the records will be deleted, followed by the sound of a beep. button for 3 seconds.
