IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electric appliances, basic safety precautions should always be adhered to, including the following:

  • Read all instructions carefully and retain them for future reference.
  • Before connecting to the power supply, ensure that the unit is earthed and its voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the power supply rating label.
  • Also ensure that the power cord, power plug and control panel are not damaged, and the housing is not cracked or deformed. Contact your authorized service agent if any other these are present.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given super vision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are aged from 8 years and above and supervised.
  • Keep all packaging well away from children. There is risk of suffocation.
  • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.
  • The refrigerant isobutane (R-600a) is contained within the refrigerant circuit of the appliance, a natural gas with a high level of environmental compatibility, which is nevertheless flammable.
  • During transportation and installation of the appliance, be certain that none of the components of the refrigerant circuit become damaged.
  • Avoid open flames and sources of ignition.
  • Thoroughly ventilate the room inwhich the appliance is situated
  • It is dangerous to alter the specifications or modify this product in any way. Any damage to the cord may cause a short circuit, fire and/or electric shock.
  • Ensure that all electrical components such as power plug, power cord, compressor and so forth be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similar qualified person in order to avoid any hazard.
  • The light bulb supplied with this appliance is a “special use lamp bulb” usable only with the appliance supplied. This “special use lamp” is not usable for domestic lighting.
  • Do not lengthen or modify the power cord.
  • Ensure that the power plug is not squashed or damaged by the back of the appliance. A squashed or damaged power plug may overheat and cause a fire.
  • Do not insert the power plug if the power plug socket is loose to avoid a risk of electric shock or fire.
  • Do not operate the appliance without the lamp.
  • This appliance is heavy. Exercise caution when moving or transporting it.
  • Do not remove nor touch items from the freezer compartment if your hands are damp/wet, as this could cause skin abrasions or frost/freezer burns.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure of the appliance to direct sunlight.
  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as
    – staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    – farm houses and by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
    – bed and breakfast type environments;
    – catering and similar non-retail applications.

WARNING

  • Keep ventilation openings in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.
  • Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
  • Do not use other electrical appliances (such as ice cream makers) inside of refrigerating appliances, unless they are approved for this purpose by the manufacture.
  • Do not touch the light bulb if it has been switched on for a long period of time as it could be hot.

IMPORTANT

  • Do not place hot items directly on the plastic parts in the appliance.

  • Do not place food products directly against the rear wall.

  • Do not refreeze frozen food once it has been thawed out. 1

  • Store pre-packed frozen food according to the frozen food manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Appliance manufacturers’ storage recommendations should be strictly adhered to. Refer to relevant instructions.

  • Do not place carbonated of fizzy drinks in the freezer compartment as it creates pressure on the container, which may cause it to explode, resulting in damage to the appliance.

  • Do not consume ice lollies straight from the freezer as it can cause frost burns.

  • Follow the instructions below to avoid contamination of food:
    – Do not open the freezer door for prolonged periods as it can cause a significant increase of the temperature in the compartments of the appliance.
    – Regularly Clean surfaces that come in contact with food and accessible drainage systems.
    – Store raw meat and fish in containers in the refrigerator so that it is not in contact with or drip onto other food.

  • When leaving the appliance for long periods: switch off, defrost, clean, dry and leave the door open to prevent mould from developing within the appliance.

NOTES PRIOR TO INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT:

  • For electrical connection carefully follow the instructions given in specific paragraphs.
  • Unpack the appliance and inspect for damages. Do not connect the appliance if it is damaged. Report damage to the manufacturer or sales agent immediately.
  • It is advisable to wait at least four (4) hours before connecting the appliance to the power supply to allow the oil to flow back into the compressor.
  • Ensure adequate air circulation around the appliance, otherwise this could lead to overheating. Follow the instructions relevant to installation.
  • Wherever possible, place the appliance spacers against a wall to avoid touching warm parts (compressor, condenser) to prevent possible burns.
  • Do not place the appliance near or close to radiators or cookers.
  • Ensure power plug is accessible after the installation of the appliance.

SPACE REQUIREMENTS

  • Select a location away from direct exposure to sunlight.
  • Ensure adequate space for refrigerator doors to open easily.
  • Select a location with a level and stable surface.
  • Allow sufficient space to install the refrigerator on a flat surface.
  • Ensure clearance to the right, left, back, and top during installation to help reduce unnecessary power consumption and keep energy bills lower.
  • It is advisable to keep at least 10mm gap at both sides.

POSITIONING

  • Install this appliance at a location where the ambient temperature corresponds to the climate class indicated on the rating plate of the appliance:
  • Extended temperature for refrigerating appliances with climate class:
    – This refrigerating appliance is intended to be used at ambient temperatures ranging from 10ºC to 32 ºC (SN).
    – Temperate: this refrigerating appliance is intended to be used at ambient temperatures ranging from 16 ºC to 32 ºC (N).
    – Subtropical: this refrigerating appliance is intended to be used at ambient temperatures ranging from 16º̊C to 38ºC (ST).
    – Tropical: this refrigerating appliance is intended to be used at ambient temperatures ranging from 16º̊C to 43ºC (T).

LOCATION

  • Install this appliance away from heat sources such as radiators, boilers, direct sunlight, etc.
  • Ensure free circulation of air round the back of the cabinet.
  • If the appliance is positioned below an overhanging wall unit, ensure minimum distance of at least 50mm between the top of the cabinet and the wall unit.
  • Ideally, however, the appliance should not be positioned below overhanging wall units.
  • Accurate levelling is ensured by one or more adjustable feet at the base of the cabinet.
  • This appliance is not intended to be used as a built-in appliance;
  • WARNING! Ensure power plug is easily accessible after installation.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

  • Before connecting to the power supply, ensure that the voltage and frequency shown on the rating plate correspond to your domestic power supply.
  • IMPORTANT: The appliance must be earthed.
  • This appliance complies with the E.E.C. Directives.

INSTALLATION

DOOR REVERSIBILITY
Before reversing the door, prepare the below tools and materials:

  1. Straight screwdriver
  2. Cross screwdriver
  3. Spanner and;
  4. Components included in the poly bag

  1. Remove upper wire box covers

  2. Unscrew right top hinge cover, disconnect door switch connectors and display.

  3. Unscrew and detach the top hinge and then remove the door.

  4. Detach the right aid closer. Take the left aid closer from the accessories bag and install it on the left side.

  5. Unscrew the bottom hinge and remove the adjustable foot from the left side to the right.

  6. Unscrew and remove the bottom hinge pin from the right side to the left. Then install the bottom hinge to the left side of the appliance.

  7. Unscrew and move the top hinge pin  from the bottom to the upper side. Remove door switch from right hinge cover and then install the left hinge cover available in the accessory bag.

  8. Unscrew and move the top decorative cover on the left and install it on the right side.

  9. Detach the fridge and freezer door gaskets and attach them after rotating.

  10. Install the door and move the connecting wires from the right to the left.

  11. Install the top hinge to the left side. Adjust the top hinge while installing to ensure gasket is well sealed.

  12. Connect the door switch and display connectors and install the left top hinge cover.

  13. Install the upper wire box covers to the right side.

EASY OPEN DOOR HANDLE INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the screw hole covers.

  2. Take out the easy open handle which is placed in crisper drawer and install it.

  3. Install the easy open door handle covers.

SPACE FOR INSTALLATION & REQUIREMENTS

  • Allow sufficient space for doors to open
  • It is recommended to allow a minimum 10mm gap at both sides

LEVELLING THE UNIT

  • Adjust the two levelling feet at the front of the unit.
  • If the unit is not levelled, the doors and magnetic seals will not align properly.

USER INTERFACE

USING THE CONTROL PANEL
1.1 Operation interface

  • FREEZER: Temperature control
  • SUPER: Select and deselect super mode control
  • ALARM/ECO: Clear door opening alarm, select and deselect ECO Mode LOCK: Locking and unlocking

1.2 LED Display

  1. Display window for preset temperature
  2. Super mode icon
  3. ECO mode icon
  4. Locking and unlocking icon

ILLUSTRATION OF THE BUTTONS
All buttons are valid only when unlocked. A short beep will sound after a button is touched.
2.1 FREEZER: temperature control of the appliance available only for user defined mode.

  • Touch “FREEZER” button consecutively to change the temperature circularly from -14°C ~ -22°C.
  • Once selection stops, screen will flash for 5 seconds to indicate temperature is set.

2.2 SUPER: select and deselect super mode

  • Press “SUPER” button to select super mode. After 5 seconds flashing of super mode icon, super mode is selected.
  • When super mode is selected, super mode icon will illuminate and display window will show -25°C.
  • In super mode, touching “FREEZER” button, super mode icon will flash 3 times, but freezer temperature will not be changed.
  • To exit Super mode:
    – Press “SUPER” button to deselect Super mode,
    – Or after 50 hours of super mode without any operation, the refrigerator will automatically stop it and enter to previous setting.

WARNING: In super mode, appliance may be slightly noisier than normal operation.
2.4 ALARM/ECO : Clear door opening alarm and high temperature alarm. Select and deselect ECO mode

  • Briefly touch of “ALARM/ECO” button to clear door opening alarm and high temperature alarm.
  • Touch “ALARM/ECO” button for 3 seconds to select ECO mode. After 5 seconds flashing of ECO mode icon, ECO mode is selected.
  • When ECO mode is selected, ECO mode icon will illuminate. Screen will display different preset temperatures, depending on the ambient temperature (Ta) of where the appliance be placed, as below.

  • In ECO mode, “FREEZER” button will not respond to any selection. Touch “ALARM/ECO” button for 3 seconds to deselect ECO mode.

2.5 LOCK: Locking and Unlocking

  • Touch “LOCK” button for 3 seconds to lock the control panel, then the locking and unlocking icon will be
  • In locked status, touch any button, the locking and unlocking icon will flash 3 times.
  • Touching “LOCK” button for 3 seconds to unlock the control panel, then the locking and unlocking icon will be
  • In unlocking status, all buttons are available.
  • If no operation in 25 seconds, the control panel will be locked automatically.

DOOR OPENING ALARM

  • If the door is left ajar for 90 seconds, door opening alarm will sound. Close the door to stop the door open alarm.
  • Or briefly touching “ALARM/ECO” button to clear door opening alarm.

HIGH TEMPERATURE ALARM

  • If high internal temperature of the appliance is detected, high temperature alarm will sound, “ht” and detected temperature will display alternately on display window.
  • Briefly touch “ALARM/ECO” button to stop door open alarm.
  • High temperature display will disappear automatically only if detected temperature goes back to normal.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Before using the appliance for the first time, clean the interior and all internal accessories using a soft cloth, lukewarm water and mild cleansing soap to remove the odor of a new appliance. Allow to dry thoroughly.
IMPORTANT: Do not clean using abrasive powders or strong detergent as these will damage the finishing.

Freezer / Drawer(s) /Shelf| • Foods for long-term storage.
• Bottom drawer/shelf for raw meat, poultry, fish.
• Middle drawer/shelf for frozen vegetables, chips.
• Top drawer/shelf for ice cream, frozen fruit, frozen baked goods.

STORING FROZEN FOOD

  • Allow appliance operate for at least 2 hours on higher setting during initial start-up before placing items to be frozen in the compartment.
  • IMPORTANT! In the event of accidental defrosting, such as power outage longer than the value shown in the technical characteristics chart under “rising time”, the defrosted food must be consumed quickly or cooked immediately and then re-frozen (after cooked).
  • Temperature setting recommendation: -18 ̊C is recommended.
  • Under recommended setting, the best storage time of freezer is no more than 1 month.
  • The best storage time may reduce under other settings.

THAWING

  • Deep-frozen or frozen food can be thawed in the fridge compartment or at room temperature, depending on the time available for this operation.
  • Small pieces may even be cooked still frozen, directly from the freezer. In this case, cooking will take longer.

ACCESSORIES/MOVABLE SHELVES

  • The walls of the appliance are equipped with a series of runners so that the shelves can be positioned as desired.
  • Positioning the door shelf bars
    Door shelf bars can be disassembled for cleaning. Disassemble as follows: gradually pull the shelf bar in the direction of the arrows until it comes free. Reposition after cleaning.

DISASSEMBLING THE BOTTOM DRAWER

  • Pull the bottom drawer to stopper position.
  • Push up the elastic buckles on both sides of the bottom drawer.
  • Pull out the bottom drawer.

TIPS FOR FREEZING
The following are useful tips to make the most of the freezing process:

  • Refer to the rating plate for the maximum quantity of food which can be frozen in 24 hours.
  • The freezing process takes 24 hours. do not add other food to be frozen during this period
  • Only freeze high quality, fresh and thoroughly cleaned foodstuffs:
  • Prepare food in small portions to enable it to be rapidly and completely frozen and to make it possible subsequently to thaw only the quantity required.
  • Wrap food in aluminium foil or polythene and ensure that the packages are airtight.
  • Do not allow fresh, unfrozen food to contact with already frozen food to prevent a rise in temperature of the latter.
  • Lean foods store better and longer than fatty ones. Salt can reduce the storage life of food.
  • WARNING: Consuming ice water immediately upon removal from the freezer compartment can possibly freeze-burn the skin.
  • it is advisable to show the freezing-in date on each individual pack to enable you to keep tab of the storage time.

TIPS FOR STORAGE OF FROZEN FOOD
To obtain the best performance from this appliance, you should:

  • Ensure that commercially frozen foodstuffs have been adequately stored by the retailer.
  • Ensure that frozen foodstuffs are transferred from the food store to the freezer in the shortest possible time.
  • Do not open the freezer door frequently or leave it open longer than absolutely necessary.
  • Once defrosted, food deteriorates rapidly and should not be refrozen.
  • Do not exceed the storage period indicated by the food manufacture.

CARE AND CLEANING

  • For hygienic reasons, it is recommended to clean the appliance’s interior, including interior accessories regularly.
  • CAUTION! Do not connect the appliance to the power supply during cleaning to avoid th danger of electrical shock!
  • Before cleaning, power off the appliance and detach the power plug from the power supply or switch off the circuit breaker or fuse.
  • Never clean the appliance with a steam cleaner. Moisture could accumulate in electric components, increasing the dangers of electrical shock!
  • Hot vapours can damage of plastic parts. Ensure appliance is thoroughly dry before placing back.
  • IMPORTANT! Ethereal oils and organic solvents can attack plastic parts, such as lemo juice, orange peel, or butyric acid cleanser that contains acetic acid.
  • Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts.
  • Do not use any abrasive cleaners to clean the appliance.
  • Remove food from the freezer and store in a cool and well covered place.
  • Clean the appliance and the interior accessories with a cloth and lukewarm water. Afte cleaning wipe with fresh water and rub dry.
  • Accumulated dust at the condenser can increase energy consumption. For this reason carefully clean the condenser at the back of the appliance annually with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.
  • After everything is dry, place appliance back into service.

REPLACING THE LAMP

  • The internal lamp is a LED type. Contact your technician or a similarly qualified person to perform the replacement.

TROUBLESHOOTING

CAUTION!

  • Disconnect the power supply before troubleshooting. Ensure only a qualified electrician or similarly qualified person perform troubleshooting not listed in this manual.
  • IMPORTANT! Compressor and refrigerant circulation sounds are audible during operation. This is normal and not a malfunction.

Appliance over freezes| •Temperature set too cold or temperature setting set to MAX.| •Select a warmer setting temporarily.
Food not frozen enough| •Temperature not adjusted correctly.
•Appliance left ajar too long.
•Large quantity of warm food stored inside in the last 24 hours.
•Appliance placed near a heat source.| •Refer to ‘temperature setting” section of this manual.
•Only open the door when necessary.
•Select a colder temperature temporarily.
•Relocate appliance from heat source if necessary.
Heavy build-up of frost on door seal| •Door seal is not air-tight| •Use a hairdryer on cool setting to carefully warm the leaky sections of the door seal & shape the warmed door seal by hand so that it seals completely.
Unusual noises| •Appliance not placed on levelled surface.
•Appliance touching the wall or other objects.
•A component (or a pipe) is touching another part of the appliance or the wall.| •Readjust the feet.
•Move the appliance slightly.
•If necessary. carefully bend the component out of the way.

Contact the service center if any of the malfunction occur again.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION

PROPER DISCARDING OF UNUSABLE APPLIANCE

  • If you are discarding the appliance, detach the power plug from the power supply socket, cut the power cord from as close to the appliance as you can and remove the door to prevent playing children to suffer electric shock or to close themselves into it.
  • Be sure to make any spring latch from the freezer door before discarding the unusable appliance. This will prevent it from becoming a death trap for a child.

This appliance does not contain ozone-layer damaging gases in either its refrigerant circuit or insulation materials. The appliance shall not be discarded together with the urban refuse and rubbish. The insulation foam contains flammable gases: the appliance shall be disposed according to the appliance regulations to obtain from your local authorities. Avoid damaging the cooling unit, especially the heat exchanger.
The materials used on this appliance marked by the **** symbol are recyclable.

The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead, it should be taken to the appropriate collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health.
