Purpose: The intent of this technical instruction is to provide guidelines for
installing air chute for Prime applications.

Air Chute Installation

Attach customer supplied transition spacer to front of trailer opening at locations shown.

Secure customer supplied transition crossbar to spacers with customer supplied hardware.

Secure air chute to transition crossbar as shown using self-drilling screws and washers.

Secure the front of the air chute to the front wall and ceiling of the trailer as shown with composite rivets. Measurements are the same for left/right side.
- A: 18” from ceiling, 13” from wall
- B: 13.125” from ceiling, 2.375” from wall
- C: 1.00” from ceiling, 13.125” from wall
- D: 21” from wall, 34” from front
Note: The chute should have enough excess material allowing it to touch the ceiling at the reefer unit when pushed up to ceiling.

Secure the air chute to the ceiling with composite rivets. Use the holes in the chute as a placement guide. Position the edge of the chute 21” from the sides of the trailer walls.
Note: Verify there is 4.50-5.50” drop from ceiling to centerline of chute at the transition to the end of the chute. -
Install 6.00” pieces of hook/loop fastener to ceiling of trailer at locations shown.
- A: Centerline of trailer/end of chute
- B: 21.00” from trailer wall/end of chute
- C: 21.00” from trailer wall/21.00”
Secure end of chute to hook/loop fastener.
