Product Usage Instructions

Carefully read all the instructions before using the appliance and keep it in a safe place for future reference. Always follow these safety precautions when using the appliance to avoid personal injury or damage to the appliance. This appliance should be used only as described in this instruction book.

1. Carefully unpack the airer and remove all the packaging materials.
2. The airer needs to be set up on a dry-level surface near a socket, with plenty of space around it.
3. Stand the airer upright, with the plug and cord on the floor, and fold out the support legs.
4. Slide the supporting bar up, all the way to the other side of the airer. The support legs will form a cross shape.
5. Turn the airer over so that it is now standing on the support legs as shown.
6. Fold out the heated bar wings on each side of the airer.
7. Plug the airer in and switch on using the on/off switch.

Instructions for Use

Ensure the airer is folded out securely before loading it with laundry and switching it on. DO NOT overload the airer, the maximum load of the airer is 6kg. Load evenly across the surface to avoid the airer tipping over. DO NOT cover the whole appliance with a duvet, or thick blanket to avoid overheating.

2. To switch off the airer, press and hold the ON/OFF/ TIMER icon for 3 seconds. Switch off the socket and unplug it. Leave the fairer to cool down completely before storing.

Changing the Temperature

• When the display shows the desired temperature, if nothing is pressed, the temperature will flash 3 times and then begin to work.
• The display will alternate between ‘On’ and the selected temperature.

Using the Timer

• You can set the timer to switch the airer off, up to 24 hours ahead.

• Q: What should I do if the airer does not turn on?
• A: Check if the plug is inserted correctly into the socket and ensure that there is a power supply reaching the socket.
• Q: Why is my Heated Winged Airer not heating up?
• A: It may not be switched on. Check the airer is plugged in, switched on at the socket and the on/off switch is pressed and illuminated.

• This appliance should be used for airing clothes as described within the instructions for use that accompany it.

• Always ensure that your hands are dry before removing the plug from the main socket. Never pull the plug out of the mains socket by its lead or carry the airer by its lead.

• Not recommended to be used with a plug-in timer switch.

• An extension cable may be used with care. The electrical rating of the cable should be at least as great as the appliance.

• WARNING: A cut-off plug inserted into a socket is a serious safety (shock) hazard. Ensure the cut-off plug is disposed of safely.

• CAUTION: The plastic bags used to wrap this appliance or the packaging may be dangerous. To avoid the risk of suffocation, keep these bags out of reach of babies and children. These bags are not toys.

• Always switch off and unplug the Heated Winged Airer after use, leaving it to cool down completely before closing it to store. Do not wind the power cord around the airer.

• Do not run the cord under the carpeting. Do not cover the cord with throw rugs, or the like. Arrange the cord away from the traffic area so that it will not be tripped over.

• Do not use it in areas where paints or flammable liquids are used or stored.

SETTING UP THE AIRER AND USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

1. Carefully unpack the airer and remove all the packaging materials.

2. The airer needs to be set up on a dry-level surface near a socket, with plenty of space around it.
   WARNING: The airer should be set up at a distance of at least 60cm from bathtubs or showers.

3. Stand the airer upright, with the plug and cord on the floor, and fold out the support legs.

4. Slide the supporting bar up, all the way to the other side of the airer. The support legs will form a cross shape.

5. Turn the airer over so that it is now standing on the support legs as shown.

6. Now fold out the heated bar wings on each side of the airer.
   WARNING
   Do not force the wings beyond the stopping point. When opening and closing the airer, never use force. The mechanism should move freely and easily. Keep fingers away from folding parts.

7. Plug the airer in and switch on using the on/off switch.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

WARNING
Ensure the airer is folded out securely before loading it with laundry and switching it on.

1. Plug the airer into the socket and switch it on.
2. Once plugged in the display will illuminate all icons for 1 second (Fig. 1), then the airer will enter ‘standby mode where the ON/OFF/TIMER icon will flash (Fig. 2).
3. Press the ON/OFF/TIMER icon once and the fairer will start to heat up. The display will show ‘On’ (Fig. 3) and then start to alternate between ‘On’ and the default temperature of 55˚C (Fig. 4).
4. To switch off the airer, press and hold the ON/OFF/TIMER icon for 3 seconds. The display will return to ‘standby mode’. Switch off the socket and unplug it. Leave the airer to cool down completely before closing it to store.

CHANGING THE TEMPERATURE

1. Once you have plugged in and turned on the fairer as in steps 1-2 above and the display is alternating between ‘On’ and default temperature of 55˚C, press the ‘temperature’ icon until you have reached the desired setting.
2. The display will move through the settings in 5˚C increments. Once you have reached the highest temperature (70˚C) if you continue to press the ‘temperature’ icon the setting will return to the lowest setting (45˚C).
3. When the display shows the desired temperature (Fig. 5). If nothing is pressed, the temperature will flash 3 times and then begin to work. Once working, a flashing dot will appear between the two digits to differenciate the temperature from the time remaining. (Fig. 6). The display will alternate between ‘On’ and the selected temperature.

USING THE TIMER

1. You can set the timer to switch the airer off, up to 24 hours ahead.
2. Turn the appliance on, and press the ON/OFF/TIMER icon repeatedly to select how many hours you would like the airer to run until it switches off. The display will move through the settings showing numbers in 1-hour increments from 01 – 24 (Fig. 7).
3. When the display is showing the desired time, if nothing is pressed, the displayed time will flash 3 times and then begin to work. The display will alternate between the selected time and temperature (Fig. 8).
4. The hours will count down on the display until the airer switches off.
5. When the set time has finished the timer will enter ‘standby mode’ where the ON/OFF/ TIMER icon will flash.
6. Switch off the socket and unplug it. Leave the airer to cool down completely before closing it to store.

STORING YOUR AIRER

1. Leave the airer to cool down completely before closing it to store.
2. Close the airer by folding in the heated bar wings on each side, then slide along the support bar so the legs fold flat. Store it flat until your next use.
3. DO NOT wind the power cord around the airer.
4. Check the parts for wear or damage after every few uses.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED

• The appliance is fitted with a fused three-pin plug to BS1363 which is suitable for use in all homes fitted with sockets to current specifications.

CHANGING THE 3 AMP FUSE
Use a 3 amp BS1362 fuse. Only BSI or ASTA-approved fuses should be used. If you are unsure which plug or fuse to use, always refer to a qualified electrician.
Note: After replacing or changing a fuse on a molded plug that has a fuse cover, the cover must be refitted to the plug; the appliance must not be used without a fuse cover. If lost, replacement fuse covers can be obtained from an electrical shop.
