Using the Heated Hub

Setting Up
Ensure the Heated Hub is unfolded securely before loading it with laundry and switching it on. Do not overload the Heated Hub; the maximum load capacity is approximately 30kg. Load the laundry evenly across the surface to prevent tipping over.

Control Panel and Remote Control Usage
To operate the Heated Hub, follow these steps:

  1. When in standby mode, the indicator light will be on.
  2. Press the power button to switch on the appliance.
  3. Press the time button to set the timer from 1 to 8 hours.
  4. Once the desired time/temperature is selected, the setting will be confirmed, and the appliance will start working.

Instructions for Use
You can place clothes on the top section for drying or open the shelves for longer items like towels and trousers. Ensure there is enough space for proper drying.

Care of Covers
Before washing the covers, remove the detachable rods from the top section.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can the Heated Hub be used for delicate fabrics?
    It is recommended to check the garment care labels and use appropriate settings to avoid damaging delicate fabrics.

  • Thank you for choosing the Dry:Soon™ Tri:Mode™ Heated Hub.
  • Please take a little time to read this booklet before you use your Dry:Soon™ Tri:Mode™ Heated Hub and keep it in a safe place for future reference.
  • You can dry your washing quickly and easily no matter what the weather with the Dry:Soon™ Tri:Mode™ Heated Hub – it costs just pennies to run and is kinder to clothes than tumble drying.
  • Designed to suit any space the Dry:Soon™ Tri:Mode™ Heated Hub can be set in three different positions – Standard, Compact and Wall Mode.
  • Using the control panel or remote control you can set your Heated Hub to the desired temperature plus, you can set the appliance to turn off at any stage up to 8 hours.
  • The top section is not heated, as hot air will rise from the base section heated bars.
  • The open shelves are really easy to fill and so versatile, just position them to suit your needs: as well as drying t-shirts, socks and smalls over the rungs, you can lay delicate items flat to avoid stretching or hang big sheets and towels without them touching the floor.
  • Clothes can be dried on hangers when hung on the middle of the top rail.
  • The specially designed cover keeps in the heat, allows you to keep your clothes out of view when drying whilst giving you easy access to your clothes in all three positions. It also has a handy storage pocket so you always know where the remote control is.
  • The two baskets nestle in the bottom of the Heated Hub for additional storage.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Carefully read all the instructions before using the appliance and keep in a safe place for future reference. Always follow these safety precautions when using the appliance to avoid personal injury or damage to the appliance. This appliance should be used only as described in this instruction book.

  • • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Make sure your electricity supply matches the voltage shown on the appliance.
  • Ensure all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers are removed from the appliance before the first use.

  • Avoid contact between the lead and hot surfaces. Keep the Heated Hub plug and lead away from ovens, electric and gas burners, flames and water sources.

  • This appliance should be used for airing clothes as described within the instructions for use that accompany it.
  • Always ensure that your hands are dry before removing the plug from the mains socket. Never pull the plug out of the mains socket by its lead or carry the Heated Hub by its lead.
  • Do not allow the lead to be compressed or curled, or touch sharp edges.
  • Not recommended to be used with a plug-in timer switch.
  • An extension cable may be used with care. The electrical rating of the cable should be at least as great as the appliance.
  • WARNING: A cut off plug inserted into a socket is a serious safety (shock) hazard. Ensure the cut off plug is disposed of safely.
  • CAUTION: The plastic bags used to wrap this appliance or the packaging may be dangerous. To avoid risk of suffocation, keep these bags out of reach of babies and children. These bags are not toys.
  • Always switch off and unplug the Heated Hub after use, leaving it to cool down completely before closing it to store. Do not wind the power cord around the Heated Hub.
  • Ensure the Heated Hub is folded out securely before loading it with laundry and switching it on.
  • When opening and closing the Heated Hub, never use force. The mechanisms should move freely and easily.

SETTING UP YOUR DRY:SOON™ TRI:MODE™ HEATED HUB

INITIAL SETUP INSTRUCTIONS\

  • Instructions to set up the Heated Hub start with the base section in the Standard mode.

  • The Heated Hub needs to be set up on a dry level surface near a socket, with plenty of space around it.

  • Remove the base section from the box and carefully remove all the packaging.

  • Stand the Heated Hub upright. Open out the upright supports on the left and right at a 90 degree angle. Repeat on the opposite side.

  • Secure together with the locking clip at the bottom.

  • Now lift up the heated bars. Start on one side of the Heated Hub. Using the bar support clips together to keep secure.

  • Ensure that the bar support clips are closed flat against the upright supports, raise the bottom bar upwards. Open the bar support clips, then lower the bottom bar back downwards until it sits securely inside the bar support clips on each side.

  • Repeat for the middle and top bars.

  • Repeat on the other side of the Heated Hub.

WARNING
Do not force the shelf beyond the level indicated by this dotted line, approximately 2.5cm (1”) above the clip.

  • When opening and closing the Heated Hub, never use force. The mechanism should move freely and easily.

  • Keep fingers away from folding parts.

  • Before positioning the shelves ensure there are no locking clips obscuring them.

  • Remove the top section from the box and carefully remove all the packaging.

  • Open up the top section into Standard mode.

  • Place the top section on the base section lining up the slots.

  • Once the top section is in position, secure all the locking clips in place.

  • Before positioning the shelves ensure there are no locking clips obscuring them.

  • Ensure that the hinges are lined up on both the top and base section when complete.

  • PLEASE NOTE: The top section when plugged in and in use, is NOT heated, as hot air will rise from the base section heated bars.

  • Decide which mode and where the Heated Hub will be set up.

  • Follow the instructions below to ensure the correct locking clips are in place.

  • The locking clips at the top and base secures the Heated Hub when in Standard mode.

  • To be flush against the wall, place the clip on the base section at the bottom in an upright position, against the back of the basket.

  • Make sure this is upright or folded back when moving from Wall mode into Standard mode. If you DO NOT do this, then the Standard mode will not join correctly.

  • Once the Heated Hub is in place add the cover.

  • The cover comes with two rods, one for each cover. Insert this in the slot in the top of each cover.

  • The cover can be secured on each side of the Heated Hub by securing the hook and loop straps around the frame. There are three straps on each side of the cover – top, middle and bottom.

  • It is also important that the covers are put correctly on the right sides. One of them has a cut away so you can see the control panel, the other one does not.

  • The cover has two magnets in the base of the front zipped section, that will attach to two magnets on the top of the cover, so you are able to easily access your clothes.

  • Plug in the Dry:Soon™ Tri:Mode™ Heated Hub and switch on.

  • The base section is heated. The bars will start to heat up.

  • The top section is not heated as heat rises and is kept inside the cover clothes on the top section will dry.

WARNING

BASKETS
  • Unpack the baskets and place the base in the bottom to secure.
  • Baskets are for storage only.

USING THE CONTROL PANEL AND REMOTE CONTROL

  • The control panel and remote control can change the time on the timer and the temperature.

  • Timer range from 1 hour to 8 hour.

  • Temperature range from 30°C to 60°C.

  • The way you use the control panel and the remote control is the same principle.

    1. When the Heated Hub is in standby mode, the indicator is on (Fig 1).
    2. Press the power button and the appliance will switch on and start working (Fig 2).
    3. Press the time indicator button and the time at the top will flash, you can now set the timer from 1 to 8 hours. Each time you press the button  the time will increase by 1 hour (Fig 3).
    4. Press the temperature indicator button and the temperature at the top will show and flash. You can now set temperature from 30°C to 60°C. Each time you press the button the temperature will increase by 5°C (Fig 4).
    5. Once you have selected the desired time/temperature, the indicator will flash a further 3 times, if nothing is pressed, the dot will then flash to indicate the selected setting is now working.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  • The Dry:Soon™ Tri:Mode™ Heated Hub is not designed to be kept switched on indefinitely.
  • Please switch off after 24 hours and allow to cool down before switching on again (approximately 2 hours).

INSTRUCTIONS AND HINTS ON LOADING

  • The folding shelves can be positioned to suit whatever you’re drying.
  • Fully open to lay delicate items flat to avoid stretching or dry t-shirts, smalls and socks – or just open the top section shelves to take care of longer items like towels, trousers and hanging sheets without them touching the floor.

FOR OPTIMUM RESULTS, LAY LAUNDRY FLAT FOR FASTER DRYING

  • Ensure there is room for the air to circulate around the clothes for faster drying.
  • Heavier, thicker items will dry better when placed higher up the Heated Hub.
  • The time in which clothes will dry will vary depending on the size and materials.
  • For smaller loads and confined spaces, you can open and use one side of the Heated Hub.
  • Using the range of Dry:Soon™ Tri:Mode™ accessories will help maximum space for drying.

REMOTE CONTROL

The remote control can be stored in the pouch in the cover, by the control panel on the Heated Hub.

BATTERY CHANGING INSTRUCTIONS

  • If the product stops working the battery may need replacing.
  • When replacing the battery ensure the product is switched “off”.
  • Push the release button and slide out the battery compartment.
  • Place in 1 new battery (CR2025/3V) with correct polarity (+/–).
  • Replace compartment cover.
  • Safely dispose of the old battery in suitable recycling facility.

BATTERY SAFETY GUIDELINES
Battery Warning: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN

  • Keep new and used batteries away from children.

  • If the battery compartment (if applicable) does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.

  • Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity (+/-).

  • Batteries should be replaced by an adult.

  • Never dispose of batteries in fire as this may cause them to explode or attempt to disassemble the batteries.

  • Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.

  • Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

  • Always remove exhausted or dead batteries from the product.

  • Remove batteries from the product, if not going to be used for a long time.

  • Ensure the battery compartment is secure.

  • Batteries are harmful if swallowed.

  • If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

  • Symptoms of battery ingestion are difficult to diagnose. Examples include: Cough, gag or drool a lot, appear to have an upset stomach, be sick, point to their throat or tummy, have a pain in their tummy, chest or throat, be tired or lethargic, be quieter or more clingy than usual, lose their appetite, not want to eat solid food or unable to eat solid food.

  • Symptoms can vary and also may fluctuate i.e., pain increasing
    then subsiding.

  • One thing specific to button battery ingestion is vomiting fresh (bright red) blood. If this is the case, then seek immediate medical help.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
The appliance is fitted with a fused three-pin plug to BS1363 which is suitable for use in all homes fitted with sockets to current specifications.

CHANGING THE 3 AMP FUSE
Use a 3 amp BS1362 fuse. Only BSI or ASTA approved fuses should be used. If you are unsure which plug or fuse to use, always refer to a qualified electrician.
Note: After replacing or changing a fuse on a moulded plug which has a fuse cover, the cover must be refitted to the plug; the appliance must not be used without a fuse cover. If lost, replacement fuse covers can be obtained from an electrical shop.
