Description

The Posey On Cue PRO Wireless Nurse Call Adapter is designed for use with the Posey On Cue PRO Wireless Fall Monitor. It enables staff to receive alerts through the nurse call system when patients at risk of falls attempt to exit their bed, chair, stretcher, commode, or toilet seat.

Instructions for Use

  1. Cleaning: Dampen a clean cloth with disinfectant (do not soak). Carefully clean the adapter and cord. Avoid cleaning substances containing Phenol, immersion in liquid, or sterilization with heat. Dry all parts with a clean, dry cloth.
  2. Disposal: Follow facility policy for disposing of the device and accessories such as cables and batteries. Adhere to relevant laws and regulations.

DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT

Posey On Cue PRO Wireless Nurse Call Adapter for use with Posey On Cue PRO Wireless Fall Monitor.

INTENDED USE: When used in conjunction with the Fall Monitor, alerts staff through nurse call system of attempted bed, chair, stretcher, commode, or toilet seat exits by patients at risk of falls.
Refer to On Cue PRO Fall Monitor instructions for use for indications for use that apply to use of the Fall Monitor system.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

  • This accessory, Nurse Call Adapter, can only be used with the Fall Monitor.
  • Refer to the On Cue PRO Fall Monitor instructions for use for additional contraindications that apply to use of the Fall Monitor System. INSTRUCTIONS:

Battery Installation

  • Press down and slide the battery compartment door to access the battery compartment. Set battery door aside.
  • Insert two (2) new “AA” alkaline batteries. Take care not to damage battery contacts.
  • Reattach the battery compartment door. Slide it shut, securing it into place.

NOTE

  • Fresh alkaline batteries have an estimated life of 30 days of daily use.
    Replace batteries when prompted by the Fall Monitor audio cue, “nurse call battery low”.

  • Dispose of used batteries per facility policy. Be sure to follow all laws that apply.

  • Nurse Call Adapter may also be powered using an authorized AC power adapter (8383AC).

Pair Fall Monitor to Nurse Call Adapter

  • Turn on Fall Monitor.
    Turn on Nurse Call Adapter. Nurse Call Adapter

  • The STATUS light will flash yellow.

  • Locate and align pairing icons together. Continue to hold the Fall Monitor and Nurse Call Adapter together until a beep is heard (Fig.1).

Connect the Nurse Call Adapter to Nurse Call Interface

  • Plug the Nurse Call Adapter into facility’s nurse call system port.
  • The Nurse Call Adapter may optionally be secured in place using the gray nurse call adapter clip provided. Press Nurse Call Adapter cable into clip. Remove backing paper. Press to adhere cable bracket onto clean, dry, smooth surface.

Testing Nurse Call Adapter

  • Pair or connect sensor to Fall Monitor.
  • Apply pressure to pad or fasten belt to activate sensor.
  • Release pressure or unfasten belt to activate alarm.
  • Fall Monitor and nurse call system should alarm.
  • Press HOLD on Fall Monitor and silence nurse call system, if necessary.
  • For troubleshooting, reference Posey On Cue PRO Fall Monitor instructions for use.

CLEANING

Use a clean, DRY cloth to dry all parts.

STORAGE

Store in ambient temperatures and humidity levels.

WARRANTY: This product is warranty for four (4) years after the date of manufacture (the “Warranty Period”). TIDI Products will replace the Nurse Call Adapter without charge within the Warranty Period. This warranty does not cover damage caused by water intrusion, alteration, abnormal usage¹, or improper maintenance, and excludes claims for loss or theft. For warranty claims, please contact customer service (1.800.521.1314). This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.

Abnormal Usage

An intentional act or intentional omission of an act that reflects violative or reckless use or sabotage beyond reasonable means of risk mitigation or control through design of the user interface (e.g. deliberate disregard of information for safety, violation or conscious disregard for the contraindications, misuse, mishandling, “off-label” use).

DISPOSAL

Dispose of device and accessories (i.e. cable, batteries) per facility policy. Follow all laws that apply.

WARNING

Ensure the Nurse Call Adapter is paired to the Fall Monitor (blue light means paired) and plugged into the nurse call system port before leaving the patient unattended.

  • DO NOT stretch or strain cable to avoid possible damage and malfunction.
  • ALWAYS position the device so that moving parts (side rails, wheels, etc.) will not cause strain or damage to the cable.
  • DO NOT wrap or bend the cable tightly during storage.
  • ALWAYS remove the cable by pulling on the plug. DO NOT pull on the cable.
  • ALWAYS install a completely new set of batteries and DO NOT mix battery brands.
  • DO NOT use the adapter if battery damage or corrosion is observed.
  • This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
  • Changes or modifications not expressly approved by TIDI could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
  • Low Battery Indicators will not alert a caregiver when an AC adapter is providing power to the Nurse Call Adapter.
