Cleaning at home
Manual cleaning
Before using for the first time and after each time it is used:
- Dismantle the pumpset into its individual parts.
- Rinse for at least 1 minute using cold tap water.
- Clean the components of the pumpset with commercial detergent and warm water (not over +40°C / 104 °F) and rinse with cold tap water. Make sure that all detergent residues are removed.
- A soft brush can also be used for heavy soiling.
ATTENTION! Do not clean the lip valve with the brush.
- Allow all parts of a clean surface to air dry.
Manual disinfection
1x daily after manual cleaning
- Make sure there is enough water in the pot in order to prevent damage/deformation.
- Boil the parts for 5 minutes.
- Allow the parts to cool down and dry on a clean surface.
Check the individual parts for cracks and changes to the surface according to
the cleaning and disinfection process. If you discover any changes, dispose of
the part affected and replace with a new one.
The illustrated parts can be wiped down with a cloth as needed. It is not
necessary to flush the tube.
Do not boil the bottle holder.
Cleaning in hospitals (only for the Clinic Pumpset)
Sterilise the disassembled pumpset at 121°C (250°F) for 20 min / 134°C (273°F)
for 5 min.
Use
Wash your hands thoroughly. Sit in a comfortable and relaxed position.
Expressing with one pumpset
-
Connect the pumpset to the Ardo breastpump.
-
Centre your nipple so that it moves freely in the breast shell (breast shell insert) when pumping.
-
Switch the breastpump on.
-
Expressing with a double pumpset
-
Connect the second pumpset to the Ardo breastpump.
-
Procedure for the Ardo Carum, Ardo Alyssa and
Ardo Bellis breastpumps: Place a pumpset on the breast, switch the pump on and place the second pumpset on the other breast. Alternatively, you can also attach both pumpsets at the same time. -
Procedure for the Ardo Calypso breastpump: Attach both pumpsets at the same time (see illustration). Switch the pump on and hold each pumpset separately in your hands.
Choosing a breast shell and Optiflow massage insert If your nipple rubs
uncomfortably on the inside of the funnel, use a larger breast shell (breast
shell insert).
If the areola is also sucked into the funnel, use a smaller breast shell. The
Optiflow can only be used with the 31 mm breast shell. Store the Optiflow
insert protected from light (silicone).
Storing breast milk
Recommended storage time at room temperature: up to 4 hours at 25°C (77°F); in the refrigerator: up to 4 days at 4°C (40°F); in the freezer compartment with door: 6 months up to 1 year at -18°C (0°F).
ATTENTION: Do not put more than 150 ml of breast milk in the bottle because milk expands when it freezes. Do not heat breast milk in the microwave.
