AlphaRex NOVA-Series LED Projector Headlights

PART I REMOVE HEADLIGHTS
INSTALLATION TOOLS
PREPARE THESE TOOLS FOR INSTALLATION
NOTE: Whenever using a power tool, please make sure not to overtighten the bolts.
STEP 1. DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Whenever working on your vehicle, always start by disconnecting the negative
battery terminal.
STEP 2. REMOVE THE FRONT BUMPER
Start by extracting the push-in pins from the radiator shroud, then carefully
remove and set it aside for future reinstallation.
Remove the push-in pins securing the upper bumper retainer and proceed to remove it.
Remove the 2 screws from both sides of the wheel fender.
Gently detach the front bumper by pulling it outward from the side, disengaging it from the mounting clips.
Next, use a flat screwdriver to disengage the insert clips that secure the upper bumper trim. Repeat these steps on the opposite side to completely free the upper portion of the bumper.
To detach the entire bumper, uninstall the bolts, hex screws, and push-in pins located beneath the front bumper that are securely fastened. Make sure to disconnect the fog light connections then proceed to remove the front bumper entirely. Set it aside for later reinstallation.
STEP 3. REMOVE THE HEADLIGHT BOLTS
Remove the 5 X 10mm bolts from the headlight assembly. Follow the same steps
for the other side.
STEP 4. REMOVE THE HEADLIGHTS
Gently pull the headlight assembly outward to disengage. Unplug the
headlight’s sockets to complete the headlight removal.
Follow the same steps to remove the other side of the headlight.
PART II INSTALL HEADLIGHTS
STEP 1. TRANSFER THE BRACKET
Before installing the headlights, it’s essential to transfer the mounting bracket from the original equipment (OE) headlight assembly to the new ALPHAREX headlight assembly.
Loosen the two 10mm bolts, and proceed to transfer and install the mounting bracket onto the new ALPHAREX headlight assembly. Repeat the same steps for the other headlight assembly.
STEP 2. TAP THE FUSE AND ROUTE THE DRL HARNESS
The installation of the DRL harness is optional, based on your preference.
When the DRL harness is installed, you can activate the activation light each
time you lock/ unlock your vehicle using the vehicle’s remote control.
Conversely, if the DRL harness is not installed, there’s no activation light
with keyless entry. Begin by locating the fuse box. Then, attach the red wire
to the positive (+) battery terminal and the black wire to the negative (-)
battery terminal.
To initiate, open the fuse box cover and tap the red wire into fuse number 11.
Close the fuse box cover and proceed to route the DRL wire harness towards the headlights.
STEP 3. INSTALL THE HEADLIGHTS
Start by disconnecting the DRL connector from the headlight assembly to
connect it to the DRL red wire connector.
Connect the DRL red wire connector and the turn signal connector to the new ALPHAREX headlight assembly. DO NOT USE DIELECTRIC GREASE!
Connect the headlight sockets to the new ALPHAREX headlight assembly. DO NOT USE DIELECTRIC GREASE!
Install the headlight securely into the vehicle and screw the 5 X 10mm bolts into place securely. Repeat the same steps for the other side of the headlights.
To complete the installation, reverse the removal process, ensuring all previous steps are followed in the opposite order.
STEP 4. TEST THE HEADLIGHT FUNCTIONS
Test the functions of your ALPHAREX headlights to ensure everything works properly.
STEP 5. ADJUST HEADLIGHT LEVEL
Once everything has been tested, aim your ALPHAREX headlights by parking 25ft
from a wall and level the headlight evenly.
STEP 6. COMPLETE INSTALLATION
Congratulations! You have completed the installation for ALPHAREX 16-21 Honda Civic | 17-21 Civic Type-R FK8 HEADLIGHTS.
