DV-LED Installation Guide
Pre-Setup
Please read the entire instruction sheet before you start.
Please consult with a trained electrician at least one day before installation
to discuss the power points for the DV-LED video wall.
Please consult with your project manager for arrangements on where to house
the external sending card box and media player.
Tools: 1 x Screwdriver, 1 x Drill, 1 x Spirit Level, 1 x Magnetic Module
Tool
Parts List
As each DV-LED display is unique, these figures are based per cabinet/module For each cabinet enclosure there should be;
- 1 x Power Supply Cable
- 1 x Network Cable
- 6 x LED Modules
- 5 x M8 Screws (pictured)
For each module there should be;
- 8 x Magnetic Screws (pictured) (8 Screws x 6 Modules = 48 screws per cabinet)
Based on your DV-LED configuration you should be able to calculate how many
protective edging pieces you need. There are two different sizes depending on
whether the edging is going on the top/bottom of the cabinet or the side.
Depending on the configuration of your DV-LED Video Wall you will be supplied
with mounting brackets either 1.2m in length or 1.8m in length. We do NOT
supply screws or the mounting bracket due to the various types of walls on
which the mounting brackets can be used upon.
For each 1.2m section of the bracket, we recommend using 5-6 M8 screws as a
minimum.
For each 1.8m section of the bracket, we recommend using 6-8 M8
screws as a minimum.
Instructions
Step 1
Clear a space on the floor and lay the cabinets in the formation they will be
going on the wall. The cabinets should be facing up with the interior of the
cabinet exposed.
Step 2
Within your layout, organize the cabinets into vertical columns and screw the
cabinets together vertically using two of the M8 screws for each cabinet as
per the diagram below.
Step 3
Once a vertical column is done, flip it over and attach the mounting bracket
on the backs of each cabinet that is needed to be hung.
Please note: This does NOT mean every cabinet needs a bracket. The rule is one
bracket for every 3 cabinets it supports. Please see the diagram below for how
this works.
Step 4
Next, attach the mounting brackets to the wall for the number of horizontal
cabinets you have. There are two lengths of mounting brackets available and
you may need to use a combination of both. The shorter 1.2m bracket can mount
two cabinets wide and the longer 1.8m bracket can mount 3 cabinets wide.
Step 5
Lift each cabinet column off the floor and onto the mounting brackets on the
wall. Secure with the screws provided.
Your DV-LED Video Wall should now look something like this.
Step 6
Attach each of the columns to its horizontal neighbor. Take a cabinet and
secure it to the neighbor using 3 of the M8 screws provided as per the
diagram.
Step 7
Working top to bottom in each vertical column use the built-in cable with
connectors to attach the power supplies from one cabinet to the next until you
are left with the power supply cable sticking out of each of the bottom
cabinets.
Please note: If needed you can arrange the power cables so they go out the top
of the cabinets.
Step 8
Remove the connector from the cable sticking out of the bottom and link the
wires to the power points as planned with your electrician.
Step 9
Next, take the data cable and working from the top right corner connect
all the cabinets using the RJ45 ports, you can use either port for in and out.
You should connect them like a snake, working vertically up and down and
across each column until all the cabinets are connected.
Step 10
Check around the outside of the cabinet, if there are any screws sticking out
now is the time to remove them from the inside of the cabinet. There are two
different types of screws that may need to be removed. To remove the screws on
the sides of the cabinets you may need to unscrew the stopper (circled in
red).
Step 11
Take the modules out of the box and connect the magnetic screws. For each
module attach 8 screws, 4 along the top and 4 along the bottom.
Please note: You can do this by hand or by using a standard drill
Step 12
Attach the magnetic screws to the modules. For each module, there should be 8
screws attached along the top and bottom as in the diagram below. Now attach
the modules to the cabinets, for each module, you need to connect a power
cable and data cable,
the module should easily snap onto the magnetic screws. For each cabinet,
there should be 6 modules.
Step 13
The final steps are to connect the loose cables. Connect each of the power
cables in the vertical columns to the power sources. Take the data cable and
connect it to the pre-configured sending box which should connect to the pre-
configured media player.
