SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Do not allow children to use the product. Store the product and its power cord outof the reach of children. Do not leave children unsupervised in the vicinity of the product when it is in use.

The product is only intended for household use. Do not use the product outdoors.

The product is not intended to be used by persons (children or adults) with any form of functional disorders, or by persons who do not have sufficient experience or knowledge on how to use it, unless they have received instructions concerning the use of the product from someone who is responsible for their safety.

A damaged power cord or plug must be replaced by an authorised service centre or other qualified personnel to ensure safe use.

Keep children under supervision to make sure they do not play with the product.

Do not use any accessories other than those recommended by the appliance manufacturer – risk of personal injury.

Switch off the product and pull out the plug before cleaning and maintenance, before moving the product, and when the product is not in use.

Do not allow the power cord to hang over the edge of a table or worktop, or to come into contact with hot surfaces. Handle the product with care when there is hot food or hot liquid in it.

Never use the product for anything other than its intended purpose.

The product gets hot when in use.

Never immerse the power cord, plug or product in water or any other liquid – risk of electric shock.

Never open the lid before the pressure has been released.

The product is not intended to be controlled by an external timer or a separate remote control.

Always put the product on a stable surface with the handles turned, to avoid spilling hot liqud when in use.

Note that the product will still be hot after it is switched off – risk of burn injury.

The lid must be properly closed for the right pressure to build up in the pan.
The lid cannot be opened when the pressure in the pan is too high. -
Never attempt to heat the steam cooker with a source of heat other than described in these instructions.

When cooking meat with skin (e.g. ox tongue) the pressure can cause the skin to expand. In which case, do not puncture the skin – risk of scalding.

Always check before use that the valves are not blocked.

Only use parts and accessories recommended by the manufacturer.

Check at regular intervals that the pressure relief valve on the product is not blocked, but releases steam as it should.

Do not put the product on or near a hot stove or in a hot oven.
-
Be very careful when if the product has to be moved when it is on. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handles. Use potholders, or oven gloves.
-
Do not tamper with the safety devices on the product.
-
Poultry and meat should be fully defrosted before steaming.
WARNING!
- Keep your hands and face away from the steam outlet and lid when the product is in use – risk of scalding.
- Pull out the plug before taking food out of the product.
- Do not touch the lid during cooking or keeping warm.
- Never modify or block the locking mechanism – risk of serious personal injury and/or material damage.
- Never attempt to open the lid when the float valve is moving or the pan is pressurized.
- Hot water can run out from the pressure relief valve when the lid is opened – risk of scalding.\
- The silicone ring is not a safety device.
- Incorrect insertion can result in a risk of personal injury. Make sure to fit it correctly.
- Connect the product to a 230 V power point. Connection to another voltage can result in a risk of fire and/or electric shock.
- Connect the product to a separate power circuit. Connect the product to an earthed power point with a fuse of at least 10 A. If other appliances are connected to the same power circuit there is a risk of overheating that can cause a fire.
- Do not plug in the power cord if the cord, plug and or the power point are damaged – risk of fire and or electric shock.
- Avoid spilling on the power cord or plug.
- Only use the supplied lid. Never use any other lid than the one supplied with the product – risk of electric shock, scalding and/or personal injury.
- Do not insert foreign objects or short circuit the terminals. Never allow metal objects to come into contact with the terminals – risk of electric shock and/or personal injury

DESCRIPTION
FUNCTIONS

Lid
– provided with handle as protection from scalding when the lid is opened. -
Water container
– surrounds the heater element, which ensures rapid steaming. -
Volume scale
– shows the amount of water in the container. -
Steam bowl
– used for steaming rice on the steam plate.

USE
BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Wash all the parts except the base with hot water and washing-up liquid.
- Fill the water container with fresh water to the MAX mark.
- Fit all the accessories and allow the product to run for 30 minutes.
- Allow the water to cool and then pour it out.
IMPORTANT :
Never pour anything other than clean water in the water container.
HOW TO USE
There are three ways of using the product: with 1, 2 or 3 steam trays.

Place the water container with heating element on the base.

Fill a suitable amount of tap water in the water container (to MAX mark for cooking time 15-60 minutes).

Put large pieces of food that should cook longer in the bottom steam tray on the water container. Put the other steam trays on top. NOTE:
• Less water can be used when cooking for 15 minutes, but the level must not be below the MIN mark. Add more water if the steaming is reduced or stops during the cooking.
• Do not add salt, spices, essence, wine or other additives to the water – this can damage the heating element.
• Check that the water level is between the MIN and MAX marks.
• The water container surrounds the heating element, which ensures rapid steaming.
• Food in the bottom tray cooks faster than in the ones above. Put food with short cooking times in the top tray. -
Use the handle to put the lid one. Avoid touching hot parts. Hot parts are marked by the hot symbol.

Plug in the plug.

Check that all the parts are properly in place before switching on the product.

Wait until all the parts have cooled before emptying the residual water.
ARNING!
Do not touch the hot parts of the handle. Hold the bottom part of the
handle.
MAINTENANCE
- Pull out the plug and allow the product to cool before cleaning.
- Wash the lid, steam bowl, steam trays, holder and water container with hot water and washing-up liquid.
- Wipe dry with a soft, dry cloth.
WARNING!
- Do not immerse the base, power cord or plug, in water or any other liquid – risk of electric shock.
- Do not use solvent, strong, corrosive or abrasive detergents, or abrasive utensils when cleaning.
NOTE:
All parts except for the base can be washed in a dishwasher. The
surface of the water container can become dulled, however, after
frequent washing in a dishwasher.
DESCALING
Scale can accumulate in time in the water container and on the heating
element.
The amount of scale depends on the hardness of the water. Scale must be
removed at regular intervals to ensure optimum functionality and life span of
the product.
NOTE:
- Do not use descaling agents or other chemicals
- If the vinegar solution boils over: switch off the timer function, pull out the plug, and pour out some of the liquid.
- Pour about 7 dl of vinegar into the water container and fill up with fresh water to the MAX mark.
- Check that all the parts are properly in place and plug in the plug.
- Set the cooking time to 20-25 minutes.
- When the buzzer goes off after the set time, pull out the plug and allow the vinegar solution to cool, and then pour it out
- Rinse the water container several times with cold water and wash the other parts according to the instructions.
