Operating the Product:

Filling the Oil Tank:

Remove the oil cap and fill the oil tank with lubrication oilup to the ‘MAX’ line.
Re-attach the oil cap and press the compression cap 3-4 times before first use.
During operation, press the cap once or twice after every 5 cuts to ensure continuous chain lubrication.

Installing or Removing the Battery Pack:

To install the battery pack, align the grooves on both sides with the slots in the housing and slide it until it locks with a click sound. To remove, press the red button on the battery pack and slide it out.

Safety and Warnings

Intended Use

This NETTA product is designed for private outdoor and residential use only. Failure to use this product as intended will void the warranty.

General Warnings

Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in tool damage, physical injury and/or damage to property. Save the manual in a safe place for future reference.

Work Area Safety

Keep the work area clean and well lit. Dark or cluttered areas could lead to accidents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids or fumes, gases or dust. Power tools could create sparks which may ignite the gases or fumes.
Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance while operating the power tool.

Electrical Safety

Make sure that power tool plugs match the outlet. Do not ever modify the plug in any way. Do not use adapter plugs with earthed power tools. Using unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock.
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded materials or objects, such as radiators, pipes, ranges and refrigerators. There is a high risk of electric shock if the operator’s body is earthed or grounded.
Do not expose power tools to rain or any other wet conditions. Water entering a power tool could increase the risk of electric shock.

Regular Check-Ups

Do not abuse the power cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the electric tool. Keep the cord in a safe distance from heat, oil, sharp edges and any moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords will increase the risk of electric shock.
When operating an electric power tool outdoors, use an extension cable that has the appropriate specifications for outdoor use. The use of an extension cable suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
If operating a power tool in a damp location cannot be avoided, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal Safety

Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating the power tool. Do not use the power tool if you are feeling tired or are under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating the power tool ay result in serious personal injury.
Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as a dust mask, or hearing protection, non-skid safety shoes or protective helmets, used in appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the power switch is in the off position before connecting to a power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the power tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the power switch or connecting power tools that have the switch in the on position to a power source can lead to accidents.
Remove any adjusting keys or wrenches before turning on the power tool. An adjusting key or a wrench left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
Do not stretch out your arms too far when operating the power tool. Keep balance and proper footing at all times. This helps the operator have better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from any moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry and/or long hair can be caught in moving parts

Power Tool Use and Care

Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for each application. The correct power tool will always do the job better and safer when used as intended.
Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn activate or deactivate it. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is extremely dangerous and must be repaired.
Disconnect the main plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before changing accessories, making any adjustments, or storing the power tool. Such preventive safety measures will reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
When the power tool is not in use, store it out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to use and operate the power tool. Power tools are extremely dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
Maintain the power tool. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, leakage and any other issue that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents and injuries are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
Keep the cutting parts of the power tool sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are more precise and easier to control.
Always use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with the instructions of this instruction manual, considering the working conditions and the work that is to be performed. Use of the power tool for applications different from those intended could result in personal injury or cause damage to the power tool.
Keep the handles and any grasping surfaces of the power tool dry, clean and free of oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling of the tool in unexpected circumstances.

Battery Tool Use and Care

When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact.
If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, seek medical help immediately. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

Service

Have the power tool serviced by qualified service personnel, using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Never attempt to repair damaged battery packs on your own. Service of battery packs should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service technicians.
Recharge the batteries only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is used to charge unsuitable batteries can create a risk of fire.
Use the power tool only with the specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire

Safety Instructions Specifically for Cordless Chainsaws

When the chainsaw is in operation, keep a safe distance between your body and the chain saw. Before starting the chain saw, make sure that the chain is not in contact with anything. During operation of the chain saw, even the slightest distraction of the operator may cause clothing or body parts to be caught in the chain.
Always hold the rear handle of the chain saw with your right hand and the front handle of the chain saw with your left hand. Doing the opposite will increase the risk of personal injury. Therefore, never grasp the rear handle with your left hand and grasp the front handle with your right hand.
Since the chain may touch hidden wires, when operating the power tool only hold the insulated handle. When the chain comes into contact with a ”live” wire, the exposed metal parts of the tools may also become ”live” and lead to the operator getting electrocuted.
Wear protective glasses and hearing protection. It is recommended to also wear protective equipment to protect the head, hands, legs and feet. Protective clothing will reduce the risk of personal injury caused by flying debris or accidentally touching the chain.
Do not operate the chain saw on a tree. Operating the chain saw on a tree may cause personal injury.
Make sure to stand firm and on a fixed, safe and level surface before operating the chain saw. Slippery or unstable surfaces such as ladders may cause the operator to lose balance or lose control of the chain saw.
When cutting a branch under tension, beware of kickback. When the tension on the wood fibre is released, the elastic force on the branch may impact the operator, or the chain saw may cause it to lose control.
When cutting shrubs and saplings, be especially careful because slender materials may jam the chain and lead to injury.
Before carrying the chain saw, turn it off and hold the front handle firmly. When transporting or storing the chain saw, be sure to close the guide cover. Properly operating the chain saw will reduce the possibility of accidental contact with a running chain.
Lubricate, tension the chain and replace accessories according to the instructions. Improperly tensioning or lubricating the chain may cause the chain to break or increase the possibility of kickback.
Keep the handle dry, clean and free of oil and grease. Greasy handles are prone to slippage.
Only use the chain saw for cutting wood. Do not use the chain saw for purposes other than the ones intended. For example: Do not use the chain saw to cut plastic, stone, or non-wood building materials. The use of the chain saw for operations other than the intended ones will result in tool damage or physical injury.

Kickback – Causes and Preventive Measures

If the head of the guide bar touches an object and the chain stops suddenly, kickback may occur.
In some cases when the head of the guide bar touches an object, a sudden reaction force will be formed, which may cause the guide bar to bounce up and rush towards the operator, causing injury.
Squeezing the chain along the upper part of the guide bar may quickly push the guide bar back toward the operator. Any of these reaction forces may cause the operator to lose control of the chain saw, resulting in injury.
Do not rely solely on the safety equipment installed on the chainsaw.
As a chain saw operator, you should take a variety of measures to prevent accidents or personal injury during cutting operations.
Improper operation of the chain saw, incorrect operation steps or operating conditions will cause rebound. Observe the precautions described below:
Keep a firm grip and hold the chain saw handle with both thumbs and the rest of your fingers. Adjust the position of the body and arms to prevent rebound forces. If the correct precautions are followed, the operator will be able to better control the tool, thus minimizing the risk of injury in case kickback occurs.
Do not extend the tool too far and do not hold the chain saw above your shoulders during operation. This will help to prevent the head of the guide bar from touching the object and ensure better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
Use only replacement guides and chains specified by the manufacturer. Using inappropriate replacement guide bars and chains may cause the chain to break and/or the guide bar to kickback.
Follow the manufacturer’s polishing and maintenance instructions to maintain the chain. Reducing the depth and height will cause frequent kickbacks.

Before Operation

The use of battery packs and chargers that are not marked or approved by the manufacturer may lead to a fire or an explosion which may cause serious, even fatal, injuries and property damage.
The use of chain saws, battery packs and chargers beyond their intended use can cause serious or fatal injuries and property damage.

Operator requirements Ensure that the operators of this electric tool meet the following requirements:

The operator must have read the manual or have been instructed on the proper and safe use of the power tool by a person who has read the manual.
Persons using this power tool must be in a stable physical, mental and psychological condition. If operators are not in a healthy condition, ensure that they are supervised.
The operator must be an adult.
Operators of this power tool must not be under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
It is important that first-time users of this power tool practice on a sawhorse or saw bracket

Dressing and Protection Requirements

Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothes or accessories. Keep clothes, gloves and hair away from moving parts. Loose clothes, ornaments or long hair may be caught in moving parts.
Chips or other sawdust may be ejected at high speeds during operation of the chain saw, which may cause physical injury or allergic reactions.
Wear protective goggles during operation.
It is recommended to wear a protective mask.
Wear long clothing and trousers with a protective cutting level. The higher the speed of the chain saw, the higher the protective cutting level must be.
Falling objects from high altitudes can cause head injuries.
Improper clothing may get caught on branches, which will hinder and affect the use of the chain saw. The wearing of inappropriate clothing can cause serious injuries to the operator.
Wear tight-fitting clothing.
Remove items such as scarves and jewellery.
Operators must not hover their hands too close to the running saw chain, or serious injury may result.
Wear protective gloves and trousers when working or when cleaning the power tool and the chain.
Operators may slip or fall when wearing improper shoes.
Wear chain saw protective boots. The higher the speed of the chain saw, the higher the protection level of the boots must be.

Work Area

Keep bystanders, children and animals away from the work area.
The chain saw is not waterproof. If it is used in rainy weather or in a humid area, electric shock may result. The operator will be injured and the chain saw will be damaged.
Do not use the chain saw in the rain or in a humid area.
The motor of the chain saw may generate sparks. In an area with combustible or explosive materials, the sparks may cause fire or explosions. These can cause serious injury or death and property damage.
Do not work in an area with flammable and explosive materials

Important Precautionary Measures

The chainsaw is safe to use if it meets the following conditions:

The chainsaw is not damaged.
The chainsaw is clean and dry.
The chain saw handle is intact.
The chain saw trigger is operating normally.
The chain is correctly installed on the guide bar and the guide bar is correctly mounted on the chain saw.
The chain is tensioned properly.
The chain saw has accessories installed that are made by the manufacturer.

Warning: If the product no longer meets the safety requirements, the parts cannot perform properly or the safety mechanism cannot work normally, serious and even fatal injuries can result.

The chain saw must only be used if it is in good condition. If the chain saw is dirty or wet, clean it and then let it dry.
Do not modify the chain saw in any way.
If the safety switch does not work properly, do not use the chain saw.
Only use accessories provided by the manufacturer.
Don’t insert anything into the chain saw.

Guide Bar

The guide bar is safe to use if it meets the following conditions:

The functions of the guide bar are intact.
The guide bar is not deformed or damaged.
There is no obvious change in the depth of the guide bar groove.
The guide rail is smooth and free of burrs.
There is no shrinkage or cracking in the guide bar groove.

Warning: If the guide bar is not intact or cannot fit the chain well, there is a danger that the chain will eject out of the guide and cause serious or even fatal injuries.

Use only undamaged guide bars.
Remove stains and foreign objects from the guide bar after each use of the chain saw.

Chain

The chain is safe to use if it meets the following conditions:

The chain is not broken or damaged in any way.
The cutting edges of the teeth are sharp.
The cutting depth of the cutting edges of the teeth conforms to the service mark description.
The length of the cutting edges of the teeth meets the grinding standard.

Warning: If the parts do not meet the safety standards, they will not be able to perform properly and the safety devices will fail, resulting in serious personal injury or even death.

Operating the Product

Filling the Oil Tank

The product is not filled with oil. It is essential to fill the product with oil before using it. Never operate the product without chain oil or with an empty oil tank, as this will result in extensive damage to the product.

Take off the oil cap and put the lubrication oil into the oil tank until the oil level up to the ‘MAX.’ line.
Re-attach the oil cap and press the compression cap continuously 3 or 4 times before first use. During the operation, press the cap once or twice after every 5 cuts to make sure the chain is being continuously lubricated.

Installing or Removing the Battery Pack

To install the battery pack, align the grooves on both sides of the battery pack with the slots in the housing, and slide it into place. Insert it all the way until it locks in place with a click sound. Failure to do so may cause injury to you or someone around you. To remove the battery pack, press the red button on the end of the battery pack, and then remove the battery pack from the tool.

Warning! The battery cannot be charged immediately after use, it should be left to cool down for a period of time (min.30 minutes). The LED lights on the charger switching from green to red mean the battery can be charged.

Cutting Precautions

Operators must concentrate on the work, otherwise they may trip or fall, leading to serious injury.
- Keep calm and work with a plan.
- Do not use the chain saw in dim areas with low visibility.
- Do not hold the chain saw above your shoulder height during the operation.
- Beware of obstacles.
- While operating the chain saw, keep your balance and maintain a proper posture.
If the workpiece is in an elevated position, use a lift or safe scaffolding.
Do not touch the saw chain when it is in motion.
During operation, the temperature of the chain will increase. If the chain cannot be effectively cooled and re-tensioned, the chain may eject from the guide bar and break. This can cause serious injury and property damage.
Ensure that the chain is properly lubricated.
Check whether the chain is properly tensioned during operation. If the chain is not properly tensioned, adjust it.
If the chainsaw starts abnormally and runs abnormally, the chain saw may not be safe to use and can cause serious personal injury or property damage.
Stop working and contact the supplier.
The chain saw vibrates when it is running. Wear gloves. Take frequent breaks. If the operator suffers from a physical condition, consult a doctor.
If the running chain hits a hard object, sparks will be generated. Sparks can cause a fire in an area with combustible materials. This can cause serious injury and property damage. Do not use the chain saw in an area with combustible materials.
The chain saw will continue running for a short while after the trigger is released and can cause serious injury.
Before touching the chain, the operator must make sure that the chain saw has stopped moving completely.

Warning: If the tree is under tension, the guide bar may be pinched. The user will lose control of the chainsaw, resulting in serious injury. (Fig. 1)

First, cut a force-relief groove from the tight side (1), and then cut into the loose side (2).

Pruning Precautions

If the branches under a fallen tree are pruned first, the trunk will not be supported by the branches and may roll, causing serious or fatal injuries.
Turn the main trunk over and then trim the branches on it.
Do not stand on the log for trimming operations.
Do not stand directly underneath a branch that is being cut.

Kickback Warning (Fig. 2)

The following conditions may cause kickback of the chainsaw:

During operation, the chain saw stops running suddenly due to jamming.
During operation, the guide bar head touches any object.

Warning: If the running chainsaw touches a hard object and is clamped, the operator will lose control of the chainsaw, causing serious or fatal injury.

Grasp the chain saw handle with both hands.
Operate the chain saw as described in the manual.
Keep the guide bar stable when cutting.
Use full speed when cutting.

Pre-Operation Check

Ensure that the following parts and accessories are intact and safe to use:
Chain saw body
Guide bar
Chain
Battery pack
Charger
Check the battery pack.
Ensure that the battery pack is fully charged.
Ensure that the chain saw is clean.
Install the guide bar and the chain.
Check the tension of the chain.

Operating Instructions

Warning: If kickback occurs, the guide bar will bounce towards the operator, which may cause serious or fatal injuries.

Grasp the chain saw handle with both hands.
Always cut at full speed.
Do not cut with the head of the guide bar.
When starting to cut, operate the chain saw at full speed and keep the guide bar vertical.

Cleaning, Maintenance and Storage

If the battery pack is not disconnected from the tool during cleaning, maintenance and repair, the chain saw may start suddenly, leading to serious injury and/or property damage.
Cut off the power supply.
Remove the guide bar and the chain.
Corrosive cleaning agents, high-pressure cleaning equipment or sharp cleaning tools may damage the chain saw, guide bar, chain, battery pack and charger. If the chain saw, guide bar, chain, battery pack and charger are not cleaned properly, do not function properly, or the safety device does not work, seriousinjury may result.
Clean the guide bar and chain, according to the instructions.
If the chain saw, guide bar, chain, battery pack and charger are not maintained properly, the parts may fail to perform as intended, leading to serious injury.
Do not try to maintain or repair the chain saw, battery pack and charger on your own.
If the chain saw, battery pack and charger require maintenance: contact the supplier.
Maintain the guide bar and chain as described in the manual.
When cleaning and maintaining the chain saw, the user may be cut by the sharp edges of the teeth.
Wear cut-resistant gloves.

Maintenance of the guide bar

If there are burrs on the edge of the guide bar groove, polish it.

Chain Sharpening

In order to sharpen the chain, use a special round file that is made specifically for sharpening chains. Do not use ordinary round files.
The saw teeth should only be polished with forward movement. Ensure that the file does not touch the teeth when retracting it backward. Sharpen the shortest tooth first. The length of the tooth is used as the reference size of other teeth on the chain:
- The round file blade must match the chain pitch.
- The teeth must be sharpened from inside out.
- Grind in one direction according to the angle of the teeth.
- Maintain the angle of the cutting edge of the teeth.
- Sharpen the small teeth according to the depth of the guide bar groove.

Cleaning the guide bar and the chain

Turn off the chain saw and cut off the power supply.
Remove the guide bar and the chain.
Clean the guide bar and the chain with a soft brush.
Install the guide bar and the chain.
