- BEFORE YOU BEGIN INSTALLING THE FAN, CAREFULLY READ ALL INFORMATION IN THE SEPARATE SHEET “SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS” AS WELL AS THE FOLLOWING “INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS”. IF IN DOUBT, CONSULT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
- SAVE ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
NOTE:
The fan weight is 15.21 lbs (6.9 kg). Be sure the outlet box you are using is
securely attached to the building structure and can support the full weight of
the fan. Failure to do so can result in serious injury.
Installation Steps:
-
Turn OFF the electric power at the main fuse or circuit breaker box.
-
Pull the wires from the outlet box through the center hole of the mounting plate. Attach the mounting plate to the outlet box, then align and engage the bottom holes from the outlet box to the holes of the mounting plate then fix them together with washers and screws from the outlet box or assembly kit bag.
WARNING: MOUNT ONLY TO AN OUTLET BOX MARKED “ACCEPTABLE FOR FAN SUPPORT”! -
Tighten the hanger bracket to the outlet box with two mounting screws. (Make sure the outlet box is securely installed so that it will be able to support at least the fan weight.)
-
Attach the safety cable hook to the ceiling and make sure the safety cable hook is covered by the fan canopy. Pull the electrical wires from the outlet box through the center hole of the mounting bracket for motor wiring installation.
-
WARNING: MOUNT ONLY TO AN OUTLET BOX MARKED “ACCEPTABLE FOR FAN SUPPORT”!
-
The receiver is already fixed in the housing.
-
Attach the trim ring to the fan motor assembly from the opening of the motor housing at an angle. Make sure the studs of the trim ring are on top.
-
Carefully lift the fan motor assembly and hang the fan motor assembly on the hook of the mounting plate by utilizing one of the holes at the outer rim of the motor housing so that it is securely suspended. Then connect the wiring to your fan according to step 7 “Making the Electrical Connections”.
-
Hang the safety cable into the safety cable hook, and tighten the safety cable to the safety cable hook by using the zip tie.
- There are four mounting plate screws and lock washers. Remove two screws and lock washers from the mounting plate (one from each side) and loosen the other two remaining screws.
- Remove the fan motor assembly from the hook of the mounting plate then align the “L shaped” slots of the fan motor assembly with the two remaining screws on the mounting plate and push the fan motor assembly upwards to engage the slots and turn clockwise to lock in place.
- Tighten the screws and install the other two mounting plate screws and lock washers into the remaining holes of the fan motor assembly and tighten.
- Align the slots of the fan motor assembly with the studs on the trim ring, then push the trim ring upwards to lock it in place.
- Before installing blades to the motor, please remove three plastic inserts first.
- Insert the fan blade through the slot on the fan motor assembly and fasten the fan blade to the fan motor assembly with washers and screws. Repeat for remaining fan blades.
- Remove one screw and loosen another two screws from the fan motor assembly first, then thread the fan motor assembly wires through the light kit pan, then push the light kit pan upwards until the fan motor assembly screws insert into the keyhole slots of the light kit pan, then rotate the light kit pan until it’s fixed on the fan motor assembly bottom. Finally, secure the light kit pan to the fan motor assembly bottom with the previous screw which was removed.
- Tighten the other two fan motor assembly screws.
- Remove one screw (for later use) and loosen another two screws from the light kit pan first, then connect the white (neutral) wire from the fan motor assembly to the white (neutral) wire from the LED module assembly and connect the blue (hot) wire from fan motor assembly to the blue (hot) wire from LED module assembly. Carefully put the wires into the light kit pan. Finally, secure the LED module assembly into the light kit pan with the previous screw which was removed, and tighten the two loosened screws.
- Attach the glass shade to the light kit pan by aligning studs and slots, and turn it clockwise until it is locked in place.
- Turn ON the electric power at the main fuse or circuit breaker box.
Operating transmitter:
- Press the “HI” button to turn on the fan at high speed.
- Press the “MED” button to turn the fan at medium speed.
- Press the “LOW” button to turn the fan at low speed.
- Press the “FAN OFF” button to turn off the fan.
- Press the “REVERSE” button to set the direction of fan rotation.
- The fan speed will slow down until the fan is turned off and it will restart by spinning in the reverse direction and resume the previously selected speed setting.
- Press the “LIGHT ON/OFF” button to turn on or turn off the light.
- Press and hold the “DIMMER” button to dim or brighten lights to the desired level and release, and the brightness level will be memorized. Turn on the light again, then the fan light will be restored to the brightness level at which it was dimmed last time.
- Press the “DIMMER” button to change the color temperature of the fan light. There are a total of 5 options of color changing from 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K to 5000K.
Timer Control:
Press the “2H”, “4H” or “8H” timer buttons to turn off the fan and light
for the selected duration. If the light is off and the fan is on, the timer
can automatically turn the fan off after the selected timer time. (The same
goes for the light.) Press the light off or fan off button to stop the timer
control.
Note:
This remote control has a memory function setting. The fan will operate at the
same speed and the fan light will stay at the same brightness level as the
last time the power supply was turned off.
Pair the remote (Only if the connection is lost):
- Within the 10-second time frame after the main power is turned on, press and hold the FAN OFF button for more than 3 seconds. The LED light will begin to flash. Once the remote is set successfully, the fan will turn off and the light will turn on.
- Note: The included transmitter was paired with the receiver at the factory with default settings, so you should not need to pair the remote unless the connection with the fan is lost.
Install the transmitter wall bracket on the wall with two screws and place the transmitter in it carefully.
Troubleshooting Guide
If you have difficulty operating your new ceiling fan, it may be the result of incorrect assembly, installation, or wiring. In some cases, these installation errors may be mistaken for defects. If you experience any faults, please check this Troubleshooting Guide. If a problem cannot be remedied or you are experiencing installation difficulty, please call our Customer Service Department (1-800-482-9235).
-
If the fan does not start:
-
Check main and branch circuit fuses or circuit breakers.
-
Check line wire connections to the fan and switch wire connections in the switch housing.
CAUTION: Make sure the main power is turned off. -
Make sure that the wall control is turned “ON”.
-
If the fan sounds noisy:
-
Make sure all screws in the motor housing are snug. (not too tight)
-
Make sure the screws which attach the fan blade bracket to the motor are tight.
-
Make sure wire connectors in the switch housing are not rattling against each other or the interior wall of the switch housing.
CAUTION: Make sure the main power is turned off before accessing the switch housing. -
Some fan motors are sensitive to signals from Solid State variable speed controls. DO NOT USE a Solid State variable speed control.
-
Allow “break-in” 24 hours. Most noises associated with a new fan will disappear after this period.
-
If the fan wobbles:
All blades are weighed and grouped by weight. Natural woods vary in density which could cause the fan to wobble even though all blades are weight-matched. The following procedures should eliminate most of the wobble. Check for wobble after each step. -
Check that all blades are screwed firmly into blade brackets.
-
Check that all blade brackets are tightened securely to the motor.
-
Make sure that the canopy and mounting bracket are tightened securely to the ceiling junction box and junction box is mounted firmly to a ceiling joist.
-
Most fan wobble problems are caused when blades are not equally level. To check the blade levels, select a point on the ceiling above the tip of any blade. Measure the distance from the ceiling to the blade tip, to an accuracy of 1/8 inch. Rotate the blades until the next blade is in the measuring position. Repeat measurement for each blade. If all blade levels are not equal, you can adjust blade levels by the following procedure. To adjust a blade tip down, insert a washer (not supplied) between the blade and blade bracket at the screw closest to the motor. To adjust a blade tip-up, insert a washer (not supplied) between the blade and blade bracket at the two screws farthest from the motor.
-
If blade wobble is still noticeable, interchanging two adjacent (side-by-side) blades can redistribute the weight and possibly result in smoother operation.
-
If the light does not work:
-
Check the blue wire from the fan to make sure it is connected to the hot wire from the house.
-
Check for loose or disconnected wires in the fan switch housing.
-
Check for loose or disconnected wires in the light kit.
-
Check for faulty LED modules.
CAUTION: Make sure the main power is turned off before accessing switch housing. -
If the fan and light kit do not work:
-
Replace the battery of the transmitter.
-
Repair the transmitter and receiver by holding the “FAN OFF” button on the transmitter according to the manual.
