Caution

  • The Optical Spot leaves are designed to achieve crisp edges. The metal leaves are very sharp and should be handled with caution. Westcott does not accept liability for any injury during use.

Attaching & Removing a Light Mount

  1. Remove 1 of the 4 black knobs on the rear of the Optical Spot housing by twisting counterclockwise.
  2. Loosen the remaining 3 knobs.
  3. Slide the Optical Spot Light Mount under the 3 remaining knobs.
  4. Once in place, tighten the 3 knobs to secure in place.
  5. Reinsert and tighten the removed knob from Step 1.

Attaching & Removing from a Light Source
Please review your lighting unit’s manual for instructions on how to attach and remove adapter ring-based modifiers.

Attaching the Focusing Lens & Other EF Lenses

  1. Remove the rear lens cap.
  2.  Locate the red dot on the Focusing Lens and align it with the red dot on the front of the Optical Spot housing.
  3. Press the lens against the silver ring and rotate the lens clockwise until the lens locks into place. Confirm the lens is locked into place before releasing.

Removing the Focusing Lens & Other EF Lenses

  1. Locate the silver tab at the base of the Focusing Lens.
  2.  While grasping the lens securely, press the tab, and rotate the lens counterclockwise while pulling the lens away from the housing.

Cutting the Optical Stop Light Output

  1. Grasp any of the Optical Spot’s 4 leaves by the black tabs.
  2.  Gently slide the tab in-and-out and side-to-side to cut the light in order to achieve your desired look.

Using Gobos with the Optical Spot

Removing the Gobo Holder

  1. Turn the lighting unit OFF and allow all components to completely cool before touching.
  2.  Grasp the black tab on the gobo holder and gently lift up on the holder to remove it from the Optical Spot housing.

Adjusting the Lens Focus

  1. Firmly grasp the small diameter portion of the lens
  2. Gently rotate the lens clockwise and counterclockwise to achieve the desired look Do not force rotation of the lens

Removing optical Spot Gels
Gently pull the gel ring clip away from the front of the lens

Warranty

Westcott’s warranty obligations for this product are limited to the following terms. The F.J. Westcott Co. (“Westcott”) warrants this Westcott branded product against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of retail purchase from Westcott or an authorized retailer by the original
end-user purchaser (“Warranty Period”). If a defect arises and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, at its option and to the extent permitted by law, Westcott will either

  1. repair the defect at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or
  2.  exchange the product with a product that is new or which has been manufactured

from new or serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product. This Limited Warranty applies only to products manufactured by or for Westcott that can be identified by the Westcott trademark, trade name, or logo affixed to them. This warranty does not apply to: (a) damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood,
fire, earthquake, mold, or other external causes; (b) damage caused by operating the product outside the permitted or intended uses described by Westcott; (c) a product or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Westcott; or (d) cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic.

Please contact Westcott Customer Support for a Return Authorization Number “RMA” prior to requesting warranty service. This RMA must be clearly written on the outside of the box to the left of the shipping label. Items sent in without pre-authorization or that do not fall under the limited warranty will be returned at the expense of the sender.
