Tap filter compatible with LAICA and GENOVA models of tap filters and all LAICA equipment that uses the HYDROSMART™ METAL STOP filter

For informed use, request information from your mains water supplier or test the water coming from your house tap.

CAUTION: The HYDROSMART™ METAL STOP filter filters water, which IN ANY CASE MUST BE DRINKABLE and microbiological safe (check with the competent authority in your region).

The HYDROSMART™ METAL STOP filter maintains the mineral salts naturally present in mains water and effectively reduces:

  • Heavy metals, such as lead and cadmium
  • Microplastics
  • Sand, rust and suspended particles
  • Chlorine
  • Herbicides and organic chlorinated pesticides
  • Organic chlorinated solvents.

GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • Follow the instructions in this manual and in the HYDROSMART™ METAL STOP filtering system manual. Incorrect use may affect the safety of the product or cause damage to the product itself.
  • DO NOT filter hot water. CAUTION: the flow of water at a temperature higher than 35°C through the filter may cause permanent damage
  • Only filter cold running water from the domestic water supply, with the filter properly assembled
  • Replace the HYDROSMART™ METAL STOP filter after 1200 L / 4 months of filtration

DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY:

Filtration systems produced by LAICA are compliant with the following standards:

  • Ministerial Decree no. 174 dated 6/04/2004 regarding materials and objects that may be used in collection, treatment, supply and distribution systems for water intended for human consumption.
  • Legislative Decree no. 18, 23rd February 2023, implementation of Directive (UE) 2020/2184 regarding the quality of water intended for human consumption.
  • Regulation 1935/2004/EC regarding materials in contact with food.
  • Regulation (EU) 10/2011 regarding plastic materials and objects intended to come into contact with food.
  • Ministerial Decree no. 25 dated 07/02/2012 (ITALY), technical provisions concerning equipment designed for the treatment of water intended for human consumption. CAUTION: this equipment requires regular periodic maintenance in order to guarantee the drinking water requirements of the treated drinking water and to maintain the improvements as declared by the manufacturer.
  • Ministerial Decree dated 21st March 1973 and subsequent amendments concerning packaging, recipients, tools, intended to come into contact with food substances or substances for personal use.
    CAUTION: to guarantee the performance characteristics of the filtering system, it is recommended to filter cold water only. The flow of water at a temperature higher than 35°C through the filter may cause permanent damage. The recommended operating pressure is between 0.20 and 0.35 MPa (2 – 3.5 bar)

SMART FILTRATION SYSTEM – FREE LAICA HOME WELLNESS APP – USE

List of compatible devices:

  • iOS: iPhone with version 10 operating system.
  • For devices with Android™ operating system: from version 6.0 (Marshmallow).
    By adding the HYDROSMART™ METAL STOP filter to the free “Laica Home Wellness” app, you can receive automatic notification on your smartphone when to replace the filter.
  1. Install the free “Laica Home Wellness” app on your smartphone.
  2. Start the app and enter the “FILTER” section from the main screen.
  3. Add the HYDROSMART™ METAL STOP FILTER by pressing the “+” key. It is possible to add the filter by scanning the QR code printed on the upper part of the filter or manually by pressing the “Select manually” button.4. The app adds the filter and automatically prompts the replacement date. To optimise the effective duration of the filter based on the water treated, you can select the chlorine level in your water supply. To use it properly, request further information from your water supplier or carry out a preliminary assessment of the local water supply.
  4. Save the settings by pressing the key .
  5. When the filter replacement date is reached, the notification to replace it will appear on your smartphone. The notification is also sent to the email address given during registration.
    • To scan the QR code on the upper part of the filter, you must authorise the app to access to your smartphone camera.
    • To receive notifications when to replace the filter, you must enable the settings on your smartphone.
    • To replace the filter, you can add a new one by scanning the QR code printed on the upper part of the filter or by updating the expiry date by clicking on the “Filter expired” button (click to replace)”.

PREPARATION OF HYDROSMART™ METAL STOP FILTER

Before proceeding with the following operations wash hands thoroughly. Remove the HYDROSMART™ METAL STOP filter from the bag and wash it thoroughly under running water.

Hook the filter to the body of the device, inserting it into its relative housing and turning it clockwise by 90° until it reaches the vertical position as shown in fig. 1, 2, 3.

When first used and every time the HYDROSMART™ METAL STOP filter is changed, turn the tap on and allow the water to flow through the filter for several minutes (at least 4-5 minutes). This water can be used to water plants or else be thrown away. Moreover, if the HYDROSMART™ METAL STOP filter is not used for 24 hours or more, leave the water running for 30-60 seconds before using the filtered water again.
