How to Use

Place the Oven Rack in the desired position with the Slide-Out Crumb Tray in place. Plug into an outlet.

AIR FRY ( ) Mode
Cooks and browns evenly by circulating forced hot air which crisps food with little to no added oil. Check foods for doneness before recommended packaging cook time.

  1. Place food in a single layer in the Air Fry Basket.
  2. Depending on the size of the food, slide the Air Fry Basket into the Top or Middle Rack Position. Slide Baking Pan under Air Fry Basket when cooking juicy/fatty foods that may drip.
  3. Turn the Temperature Dial ( ) to AIR FRY and then turn the Function Dial to AIR FRY ( ).
  4. Set time by turning the Timer Dial ( ) past 10 and then to the desired time.
  5. Most foods cooked in Air Fry Mode will cook between 400°–450°F (204°–232°C). Adjust Temperature ( ) and Timer ( ) Dials for the food being cooked.
  6. Check the temperature of food for doneness before the recommended package cooking time.
TIP: Lightly misting fresh foods with oil will produce crispier results. Visit foodsafety.gov for recommended internal food temperatures.

Sure-Crisp® Air Frying Tips From Our Test Kitchen

  • Sure-Crisp® AIR FRY Mode may require more cooking time than standalone air fryers.
  • Always use the Baking Pan on the rack under the Air Fry Basket to catch drips.
  • Arrange foods in a single, even layer in an Air Fry Basket.
  • Most foods (larger/thicker) may need to be flipped, stirred, or rotated during cooking.
  • Breadcrumbs make crunchy air-fried coatings. Avoid sauces or batters.
  • The rack position used to air fry depends on the size of the food to be cooked. Use the Middle Rack Position for most foods.
  • Keep at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) between food and heating elements.
  • Do not line the Air Fry Basket; that blocks airflow. Do line the Baking Pan under the Basket for easy cleanup.
  • Preheat Oven for shorter cook times/improved crispness.
  • Cut uniform-sized pieces for even cooking results.
  • A light spritz of cooking oil before cooking provides a crispier texture, especially for fresh foods.
  • Review food packaging-suggested cook times and adjust the time for desired crispness.
  • Avoid opening the Oven door while cooking frozen French fries or chicken nuggets until the cooking cycle is nearly done.
  • Check food for desired doneness before the end of the cooking cycle. Add or reduce cooking time as needed.
  • For best results when air frying, set the temperature to AIR FRY ( ).

STAY ON Function
The Toaster Oven can be set to stay on by turning the Timer Dial ( ) to STAY ON while pressing and holding buttons on the side of the Dial.

BROIL ( ) Mode
Place Oven Rack in Oven. Use the Top Rack Position for faster broiling times. Middle Rack Position for browning casserole tops, toasting sandwiches, or melting cheese on bread. Bottom Rack Position for foods needing longer broiling times, like chicken and thick cuts of meat. Place the Baking Pan on the Oven Rack. Place in Oven. No preheating is necessary. Food must be a minimum of 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the heating elements.

  1. Plug into a utlet.
  2. Turn the Temperature Dial ( ) and Function Dial to BROIL ( ).
  3. Rotate the Timer Dial ( ) past 10 and then to the desired broiling time.
  4. Turn foods when browned or halfway through cooking time.

TOAST ( ) Mode
Use for browning and toasting bread, bagels, and English muffins. The rack should be in the Top or Middle Rack Position depending on the type of food being toasted.

  1. Place the Oven Rack in the Top Rack Position for cut-side-up bagels and English muffins. Use the Middle Rack Position for breads and other foods when toasting both sides is desired.
  2. Turn the Function Dial to TOAST ( ).
  3. Place food on the Rack. Turn the Temperature Dial ( ) to TOAST ( ).
  4. Rotate the Timer Dial ( ) past 10 and then back to the desired time. A bell will sound when the time is complete. When toasting only two slices of bread, place the bread on the Oven Rack in the Middle Rack Position to get even toasting on top and bottom.
    • To toast regular toaster pastries or frozen pastries, place the Oven Rack in the Middle Rack Position. Select a color lighter than medium and toast directly on the Oven Rack. If the pastry has a glaze or frosting, use a Baking Pan.
    • When toasting, condensation may form on the Oven door.
    • Moisture will slowly escape from the enclosed Oven.
    • The number of slices of bread and bread freshness will affect the toast color. For example, toasting 4 slices of bread will require a darker toast color setting than 2 slices of bread.
    • Adjust the timer based on the desired color and number of slices.
    • If you are not satisfied with the color balance between two sides of your food in the recommended rack position, select a different rack position.

BAKE ( ) or PIZZA ( ) Modes

  1. Place the Oven Rack in the desired Rack Position (depending on the food to be cooked).
  2. Turn the Temperature Dial ( ) to the desired temperature.
  3. Add food after the Oven is preheated. Turn the Function Dial to BAKE ( ) or PIZZA ( ).
  4. Rotate the Timer Dial ( ) past 10 and then back to 5 minutes to preheat the Oven before beginning to bake. Add food to the Baking Pan. After the Oven is preheated, place the Baking Pan on the Oven Rack. Set a timer to the desired time by rotating the Dial past 10, then to the desired baking time. Or rotate to STAY ON while pressing and holding buttons on the side of the dial.
  5. When food is cooked, rotate the Timer Dial ( ) to OFF ( ) and unplug it.
    • Do not enclose foods in aluminum foil. Foil can insulate foods and slow down heating.
    • Pizza, and other foods like chicken pieces or thick pork chops, can be baked using the Bottom Rack Position. Use
    • Oven Rack or Baking Pan, depending on the food to be cooked.
    • Turn foods halfway through cooking time.
    • Visit foodsafety.gov for more safe cooking temperature information.

REHEAT ( ) Mode
Use to hold cooked foods at temperature for up to 2 hours. Place the Oven Rack in the Bottom Rack Position.
NOTE : Only lower heating elements are on in REHEAT ( ) Mode.

  1. Place Oven Rack in the desired position.
  2. Turn Temperature ( ) and Function Dials to REHEAT ( ).
  3. Rotate the Timer Dial ( ) past 10 and then back to 5 minutes to preheat the Oven before beginning to reheat. After the Oven is preheated, place the Baking Pan or food on the Oven Rack. Set Timer Dial ( ) to the desired time by rotating clockwise past 10, then to the desired baking time. Or rotate to STAY ON while pressing and holding buttons on the side of the dial.
  4. When food is ready, rotate the Timer Dial ( ) OFF ( ).
    • To reheat rolls or biscuits, slide the Oven Rack into the Bottom Rack Position, place food on the Baking Pan, and heat at 300°F (140°C) for 10 minutes.
    • Reheat leftover roasts or casseroles at 350°F (177°C) for 20 to 30 minutes or until heated through.

FAQs

What size chicken will the Oven handle?
The Oven will hold an 8-pound (3.6-kg) chicken/turkey.

When should I choose BAKE, BROIL, PIZZA, AIR FRY, or REHEAT?

  • Choose BAKE ( ) for foods such as roasts, potatoes, or cakes.
  • Choose BROIL ( ) to brown foods such as beef, chicken, fish, pork, and casseroles.
  • Choose PIZZA ( ) for pizza, frozen foods, and snacks.
  • Choose AIR FRY ( ) for fresh or frozen foods to crisp and evenly brown.
  • Choose REHEAT ( ) to warm, or keep warm, casseroles, appetizers, or any cooked foods.

If I want to toast bread, what setting is best?

  • TOAST ( ) Mode is best for toasting both sides of sliced bread. You can also use the BROIL ( ) Mode for open-faced sandwiches, baguettes, and crostini.
  • The BROIL ( ) Mode activates the top heating element and is great when toasting is required on one side only. You can also flip the bread when the desired level of browning is reached.

Troubleshooting

The oven will not heat.

  • Check to make sure the electrical outlet is working and Oven is plugged in. Turn Temperature Dial to 350°F (177°C).
  • Turn the Function Dial to BAKE; then turn the Timer Dial ( ) counterclockwise to Stay On while pressing and holding buttons on the side of the Dial.
  • Moisture forms on the inside of the Oven Door when toasting.
  • This is normal when toasting in a toaster oven. Moisture is slower to escape from a toaster oven than from a toaster.
  • The amount of moisture will differ between fresh bread, bagels, and frozen pastries. An odor and smoke come from the Oven.
  • Smoke and odor are normal during the first use of most heating appliances. These will not be present after an initial heating period.
  • The oven will not toast.
  • Check to make sure the outlet is working and Oven is plugged in. Turn the Temperature Dial ( ) to TOAST.
  • Turn the Function Dial to TOAST; then rotate the Timer Dial ( ) clockwise past 10 and then back to the desired toast color. Some foods burn and some are not done.
  • Adjust the Oven Rack position to center food in the Oven.
  • Adjust the Oven temperature or cooking time for the best results with your recipes.
