  • DANGER: This machine can start, move and stop automatically. Keep hands and loose clothing clear of moving parts while operating. Moving parts can crush and cut. When used with a saw or other cutting equipment, bodily injury and death may result if operated without safety guards on all machines. Do not operate with guards removed. Operators must wear adequate eye and ear

  • DANGER! Don’t get pinched by the push feeder. Keep your hands away when in motion!

  • Keep the work area clean and well lighted to avoid accidental injury.

  • Do not use TigerStop machines in a dangerous environment. Using power tools in damp or wet locations or in rain can cause shock or electrocution.

  • Do not operate near flammable liquids or in gaseous or explosive atmospheres!

  • Wear proper apparel, no loose clothes, long hair or jewelry which could get pulled into moving machinery or materials.
    Wear non slip footwear, safety glasses, ear protection and a dust mask.

  • Use only 3- wire extension cords that have 3-prong grounding type plugs and 3-pole receptacles that accept the tools plug for 120VAC. Use only 5-wire cords and plugs when using 3 phase.

  • Do not open motor compartment or controller keypad. DC Voltage with potentially FATAL amperage! Disconnect power before servicing. No user-serviceable parts inside.

  • DO NOT operate this or any machine under the influence of drugs or alcohol!

  • No one should operate this machine except for fully qualified personnel.

  • Read the manual!

Bar Code Scanner Installation

TigerStop offers a wired and a wireless bar code scanner. Wireless scanner installation and set- up instructions start on page 10.
Wired Scanner Installation

  1. Ensure the TigerStop 1/0 Panel is connected between the TigerStop controller and the amplifier, using an extra TigerStop controller cable as shown below. Note: The I/O Panel is only included with the Bar Code Scanner Package.TigerStop=Mk2-Bar-Code-Scanner- \(14\)
  2. Remove the bar code scanner from the box and place it near the TigerStop I/O Panel.
  3.  Remove the black RS232 cable from the box.
  4. Connect the black RS232 cable to the bar code scanner RS232 connection. TigerStop=Mk2-Bar-Code-Scanner- \(15\)
  5.  Connect the other end of the black RS232 cable to the “AUX” plug on the I/O Panel. TigerStop=Mk2-Bar-Code-Scanner- \(16\)
  6. Connect the power supply cable to the bar code scanner.
  7. Connect the power supply to a wall outlet. TigerStop=Mk2-Bar-Code-Scanner- \(17\)

Wired Scanner Setup

The bar code scanner is programmed at the TigerStop factory with a baud rate of 9600. If a baud rate change is necessary, follow the instructions below to configure a new baud rate. If no baud rate change is necessary, skip this section.

  1. Scan the code below.

  2. Wait for 3 seconds.

  3.  Scan the code below. TigerStop=Mk2-Bar-Code-Scanner- \(19\)

  4.  Wait for 3 seconds.

  5. Choose ONE of the baud rate options below.
    Note : Use 9600 when connecting the bar code scanner to the TigerStop I/O Panel and use 57,600 when connecting the bar code scanner directly to the TigerStop amplifier.

  6. Scan the following codes, waiting 3 seconds between each one.

  7. Cycle power on the bar code scanner.

  8. Scan the following bar codes to test the bar code scanner functionality.
    Warning! TigerStop will move!

Wireless Scanner Installation

  1. Ensure the TigerStop I/O Panel is connected between the TigerStop controller and the amplifier, using an extra TigerStop controller cable as shown below.c
    Note : The I/O Panel is only included with the Bar Code Scanner Package.TigerStop=Mk2-Bar-Code-Scanner- \(24\)

  2. Remove the bar code scanner and the bar code scanner base from the box and place it near the TigerStop I/O Panel.

  3.  Flip over the base and connect the bar code data cable to the bar code scanner base. TigerStop=Mk2-Bar-Code-Scanner- \(23\)

  4.  Connect the black RS232 cable to the bar code scanner data cable.

  5. Connect the other end of the black RS232 to the “AUX” plug on the I/O Panel. TigerStop=Mk2-Bar-Code-Scanner- \(26\)

  6. Connect the power supply cable to the bar code scanner. TigerStop=Mk2-Bar-Code-Scanner- \(27\)

  7. Connect the power supply to a wall outlet.

  8. Place the bar code scanner in the base and allow it to charge.
    Note : The scanner will fully charge in 4.5 hours.

Wireless Scanner Setup

The bar code scanner is programmed at the TigerStop factory with a baud rate of 9600. If a baud rate change is necessary, follow the instructions below to configure a new baud rate. If no baud rate change is necessary, skip this section.

  1. Scan the code below.

  2.  Wait for 3 seconds.

  3.  Scan the bar code on the wireless scanner base to pair the scanner with the base.

  4. Wait for 3 seconds.

  5. Scan the code below.

  6. Wait for 3 seconds.

  7. Choose ONE of the baud rate options below.

  9. Cycle power on the bar code scanner.

  10. Scan the following bar codes to test the bar code scanner functionality.

Enable Enable Code

Enter Enable Code
If you purchased bar code scanning as an add on to an existing TigerStop, you must enter a new enable code (provided by TigerStop at time of purchase). If you purchased bar code scanning as part of a new TigerStop product, the complete functionality will be unlocked during the warranty registration process and you may skip this section.

  1. Start at the Ready Screen. Press the [Show] soft key to display more options.

  2. Press the [Menu] soft key to access the menu select screen.

  3. Enter the password and press .
    Note : The default password is set to the serial number of the TigerStop.

  4. Press the button.

  5. Press the [Sys Info] soft key to access the System Information menu.

  6. Press   to view the TigerStop serial number and enable code.

  7.  Press the [A], [B], [C] and [D] soft keys, one after the other.

  8. Press 

  9. Press Stop to return to the Ready Screen.

  10. Cycle power.

  11.  After power up, TigerStop will ask you for a new enable code.

  12.  Enter your code and press .
    TigerStop is now properly enabled.

Bar Code Scanner Use

  • Creating Bar Codes
  • The TigerStop bar code scanner reads code 39 bar codes. Code 39 bar codes can be created using a code 39 font on any word processing program. The bar code format is below;
  • The code should start with an asterisk, then the decimal position you want TigerStop to move to, followed by another asterisk.
  • Example: I want to send TigerStop to 23 1/8th inch. I would create the following code;
  • I would then change the text to a bar code by adjusting the font.

Moving to Position
The bar code scanner can be used to move TigerStop to an absolute position.

  1. Start at the Ready screen.
  2. Scan a bar coded length. For this example, I will send Tiger-Stop to 23.125 inches.
  3. TigerStop will move to the bar coded length.

Building a Parts List Using the Bar Code Scanner
The bar code scanner can also be used to enter part lengths into a part list instead of typing in the length data manually.

The bar code scanner can also be used to enter part lengths into a part list instead of typing in the length data manually.

  1.  Access a part list as you normally do. For details on creating part lists, see the TigerStop Users Guide.
    Note : A link to the TigerStop Users Guide is on page 18.

  2. At the length entry screen, scan a bar code. TigerStop will en-ter the bar coded length.

  3. Continue scanning length bar codes until you have finished building the list.

  4. Exit and run the parts lis15 t as normal.

Downloading a Parts List with TigerLink 6

  • If you use TigerStop’s TigerLink 6 downloading software, you can use a bar code to download a part list. For details on TigerLink 6, see the TigerLink 6 Installation Guide.
  • Note: A link to the TigerLink 6 Installation Guide is on page 18.
  • TigerStop uses a special bar code format to tell TigerLink 6 to download a parts list. You will still use the code 39 font. The format is below.
  • Q#####
  • As normal, there is an asterisk at the beginning of the code. Then we use the letter Q to tell TigerStop that it needs to download a list. The next element is the part list number we want to download. This number is generated by TigerLink 6. Close the code with another asterisk.
  1. Start at the Ready screen. Scan the special part list bar code that you have created.
  2. TigerStop will show you the work order you have called for. Press the [Grab] soft key to download the part list.
    Note : This method of downloading is also compatible with Workflow Manger.

Printing Bar Codes
TigerStop can print bar coded data when using the TigerStop printing upgrade.

  1. Start at the Ready Screen.

  2. Press the [Show] soft key to display more options.

  3. Press the [Menu] soft key to access the menu select screen.

  4. TigerStop requires a password to access the menu screen. Enter your TigerStop password and press .
    Note : By default, the TigerStop password is set to the serial number.

  5.  At the menu select screen, press the [Options] soft key to access the Options menu.

  6. Press to scroll through the settings. Stop when you get to the Barcode Setting.

To change Barcode…

  1. Press [B] or [C] to toggle the Barcode setting.
  2. Press the [Done] soft key to save the parameter.
