  • In this example, TigerLink 6 separates the .csv part list file named ‘Basic’ into two .Tiger files.

List Requirements

For conversion to .tiger files, TigerLink 6 imposes the following conditions on input lists.

  • Input files must contain only simple text.
  • Text is delimited into columns with a specified character (e.g. comma or semicolon).
  • Each line (excluding headers) contains the same number of columns in the same order.
  • The file must contain a column specifying the part lengths.
  • For automated mitering, the mitering angles must be specified in two additional columns.

Other frequently included columns include quantity, material, profile, and part name, but none of these are required. One common file format that satisfies these requirements is comma-separated values (.csv).

.Tiger Files

.Tiger files contain all the part list and printing data that is sent to the TigerStop® product. How to read the file name, separated by underscores:

CutListLinks File
The TigerLink 6 CutListLinks file is a system file that contains information about each profile. To create new profiles or delete profiles from the profile list, edit the CutListLinks.

Browse to the File

.XML Explained

XML is a markup language for humans and machines to read a layout. This means that all data elements are enclosed in a set of tags.

Opening tags:

< SampleTag>
and closing tags:

< /SampleTag>
Note that the closing tag has a ‘/’ character to indicate the end of the data in this tag. An example of this is the CutListLinks tag.
The tag:

< Units>Metric
The tag indicates control of the measurement units and the data between the tags indicate that this profile is set to use Metric units.

The first tag is the tag and its closing tag is at the bottom. This means that the data between the tags is a TigerLink 6 profile.
The opening tag requires basic data about the file type that uploads using this profile.

< LinkType LinkName=”Basic” Extension=”.csv” Columns=”10” Active=”True”>

  • LinkName – The name that shows in the profile list in the TigerLink 6 user interface.
  • Extension – The file extension that the file receives when placed into the TigerLink 6 folder.
  • Columns – The total number of data columns in the job file.
  • Active – Indicates whether the profile is active or not. “True” = active and “False” = inactive.
