RUGGED RADIOS CS-REC Audio Recording Cable for Rugged Handheld Radios

Product Usage Instructions

Using Recording Cables with GoPro and Rugged Handheld Radio:

  1. Plug in the 3.5 Mic Adapter to the GoPro (refer to figure 1).
  2. Plug in the dual plug end of CS-REC-RH into GMR2 or any other Rugged handheld (refer to figure 2).
  3. Connect the Single Audio plug from CS-REC-RH into the 3.5mm GoPro adapter (refer to figure 3).
  4. Set the radio to the correct channel and adjust volume on GMR2 to about 50%. Start recording on your GoPro.

Using Recording Cables with GoPro and Rugged Mobile Radio:

  1. Plug the GoPro 3.5 Mic Adapter into the GoPro (refer to figure 1).
  2. Connect the 5-pin connector of CS-REC-5PM-3.5M into the 5-pin pigtail connector on the back of the Radio unit (refer to figures 2 & 3).
  3. Plug CS-REC-5PM-3.5M to Pro 3.5 Mic Adapter (refer to figure 4).
  4. Set radio to correct channel, lock keypad, preset volume on Rugged mobile radio to about 75%. Start recording on your GoPro.

Recording with 696 PLUS Intercom:

  1. Ensure the radio and intercom are connected through their 5-pin connectors (refer to figure 1).
  2. Plug the GoPro 3.5 Mic Adapter into your GoPro (refer to figure 2).
  3. Connect one end of CS-MUSIC-3CON into the AUX OUT port on the back of the intercom (refer to figures 3 & 4).
  4. Plug the Single Audio plug from the CS-REC-RH into the 3.5mm GoPro adapter (refer to figure 5).
  5. Set the radio to the correct channel, adjust volume on Rugged mobile to about 50%. Start recording on your GoPro.

FAQ

Q: Can I record both sides of radio traffic with this setup?
A: No, this configuration only records RECEIVE audio. For capturing both sides, use a dedicated recording radio.

Rugged Handheld Radio to GoPro

Equipment Needed

  • QTY (1) GoPro
  • QTY (1) Pro 3.5 Mic Adapter
  • QTY (1) CS-REC-RH
  • QTY (2) GMR2 or any other Rugged Handheld
  1. Step 1
    First, plug in the 3.5 Mic Adapter to the GoPro See figure 1

  2. Step 2
    Then, plug in the dual plug end of CS-REC-RH into GMR2 or any other Rugged handheld. See figure 2

  3. Step 3
    Next, plug the Single Audio plug from CS-REC-RH into the 3.5mm GoPro adapter See figure 3

  4. Step 4
    Finally, set the radio to the correct channel. Set the volume on GMR2 to about 50% (the required setting may vary, it is recommended to test prior to recording). Now start recording on your GoPro!
    IMPORTANT NOTE! This configuration only records RECEIVE audio. In order to capture both sides of radio traffic, use a dedicated recording radio and not one that will be used for transmitting.

Rugged Mobile Radio to Go-Pro

Equipment Needed

  • QTY (1) Any Rugged mobile radio with Rugged Ready 5-pin pigtail
  • QTY (1) GoPro 3.5 Mic Adapter
  • QTY (1) GoPro
  • QTY (1) CS-REC-5PM-3.5M
  1. Step 1
    First, Plug the GoPro 3.5 Mic Adapter into the GoPro. See figure 1

  2. Step 2
    Plug the 5-pin connector of CS-REC-5PM-3.5M into the 5-pin pigtail connector on the back of the Radio unit See figure 2 & 3

  3. Step 3
    Next, plug CS-REC-5PM-3.5M to Pro 3.5 Mic Adapter See figure 4

  4. Step 4
    Lastly, set radio to correct channel and lock keypad to avoid accidental changes to the radio. Preset the volume on the Rugged mobile radio to about 75% (required setting may vary, it is recommended to test prior to recording). Now you can start recording on your GoPro!
    Important Note! This configuration only records RECEIVE audio

Recording with 696 PLUS Intercom and variants

Equipment Needed

  • QTY (1) GoPro
  • QTY (1) Pro 3.5 Mic Adapter
  • QTY (1) CS-MUSIC-3CON
  • QTY (1) 696+ Intercom
  • QTY (1) Rugged Radio Unit (i.e. G1, M1)
  • QTY (1) GMR2 or R1
  1. Step 1
    First check to make sure the radio and intercom are connected through their 5-pin connectors. See figure 1

  2. Step 2
    Then, plug the GoPro 3.5 Mic Adapter into your GoPro. See figure 2

  3. Step 3
    Next, connect one end of CS-MUSIC-3CON into the “AUX OUT” port on the back of the intercom See figures 3 & 4

  4. Step 4
    Next, plug the Single Audio plug from the CS-REC-RH into the 3.5mm GoPro adapter. See figure 5.

  5. Step 5
    Lastly, set the radio to the correct channel. Set the volume on Rugged mobile to about 50% (the required setting may vary, it is recommended to test prior to recording). Start recording on your GoPro!
