OPERATION
HOW AND WHY
Your room air conditioner provides the folowing functions to make hot weather
living more oomforiabla:
- Gools and circulates room air.
- Lowers humidity by removing excess moisture.
- Fifters out summetime dust, dirl, and some airborme impuritiss.
The air condilioner performs these functions by drawing room air through a
filter which: raps dust and dirl particles. The alr then passes wver a cooling
coil which refrigerates the air and removes wacess molsture. The same alr is
then retumed to the reom cooler, drier, and cleaner. Moisture removed from e
room air ig carded to e oulside and evaporated,
Your air conditioner is designed to be sasy 1o operate and 1o provide plenty
of cooling power.
NORMAL SOUNDS FIG. 23
Aside from the regular fan motor and comprassar sounds coming frem your alr
conditioner, you wil once in a while hear a pinging scund, This is the result
of moisture being picked up from the airinthe room and thrown agamsl 18 air
conditionsr’s fan.
This is normal and should not be cause for conoern.
Also, do not be alarmed i you hear & slight hissing of gurgling sound coming
from your air conditioner after it is off. Trese are normal coslant noises.
CAPACITY AND RUNNING TIME
Proper unt size is important in deciding the desired sorafort for the area you
want to cool. The proper size is determined by the number of square feat in
the area to be cooled, indoor and autdoor ternperature and humidity,
Whenever the heat or humidity load Is above normal the air conditioner must
run longer and more often to keep the desired temperature you have selected,
Undar heavy heat load conditions the ai condifioner may need to run constantly
to keep the temperature you want.
Af imes using the MED FAN setting to cireulate the roum air may make it
comforlable even though the air is not being cooied, This will decrease your
cust of use.
