CHANGING THE TIMER

Decreasing the timer will keep the lamp burning for a shorter time, increasing the timer will keep the lamp burning for a longer time after the lamp will turn on.HOFTRONIC-5426988-6x -Mason-Pir-With-Daylight-Sensor-Led-Wall-Light-

CHANGING THE SENSOR SENSITIVITY

Decrease the twilight sensor sensitivity if you want the lamp to turn on only when it is dark, by increasing the twilight sensor sensitivity the lamp will turn on earlier, for example when it starts to get dark or when it is very cloudy.

WHICH SENSORS ARE IN THIS WALL LIGHT?

In this wall light with sensor there is a PIR sensor with twilight switch and there is also the separate photocell/daylight sensor.

WHAT FUNCTIONS DO THESE SENSORS HAVE?

The PIR (Passive Infra Red) Sensor has a sensing device which continuously scans a preset operating zone on movement. The PIR sensor immediately switches the lamp on when it detects movement in that area which could be useful to illuminate a pathway, patio, garage or for security reasons around the house. While there is movement within range of the PIR sensor, the lamp will stay on illuminating the area.

THE TWILIGHT SWITCH/PHOTOCELL

On the wall light there is a second sensor control unit which switches on and off the light depending on the ambient brightness. The Twilight switch controls the light to be on or off when the ambient lighting exceeds or falls below a certain set light value in the settings. This is useful for the lamp to be on when it gets dark outside and to be off when there is enough ambient lighting.

HOW TO SETUP THE SENSOR

  1. Sens: With this option you can adjust the sensitivity of the sensor. If you want the sensor to react quickly and fast, the setting should be more to the “+”. When you want the sensor to work not immediately and slower, the setting should be more to the “-“. When the Sens setting is put on the max setting, the max distance range will be 10 meters. Put the Lux setting to daylight so you can test the detection range of the PIR sensor.
  2. Time: The time that the light stays on can be adjusted via this setting. On the lowest setting the light stays on for 10±3 seconds. On the highest setting the light stays on for 10±2 minutes.
  3. Lux: You can adjust the Lux setting from 3 Lux – 2000 Lux. With this setting you can adjust the moment when the sensor will be activated
triggered by how much Lux is measured. When the Lux setting is on the lowest Lux Value, it means that the sensor turns on the light when there is no to little ambient light. When the Lux setting is on the highest Lux value, it means that the sensor works also during daylight. When you need the sensor to work during dusk/dawn, then the Lux setting needs to be in the middle.

WHERE TO PLACE THE SENSOR?

  • For the best functionality of the sensor and light, suggested is to place the fixture with sensor 1.5 to 2.5 meters (5ft to 8ft) above the area to be scanned.
  • Do not place the sensor directly towards the sun to prevent damage to the sensor.
  • To prevent the sensor malfunctioning, do not place the sensor closeby heat sources.
  • Place the sensor not directly across a white wall or a reflectivre surface like a swimming pool or glass windows which can trigger the sensor to go on automatically.

HOW TO ONLY USE THE TWILIGHT SWITCH/PHOTOCELL MODE WITH PIR SENSOR DEACTIVATED

When the light is turned on by the power switch, the sensor is activated into the “Warm-up” mode. This takes around 10 seconds before the sensor is activated to “Auto-mode”. To change the “Auto-mode” to only “Twilight sensor”, you have to do the following steps:

  1. Adjust LUX setting to minimum
  2. Turn the power ON for 10 seconds (this way the sensor is been activated)
  3. Turn OFF/ON/OFF/ON the power within 6 seconds

After doing these three steps, the sensor is now in photocell mode and the PIR Sensor is deactivated. When the light needs to stay on continuously, the LUX setting should be put on the sun mark. This way the light stays on.

HOW TO RESET THE TWILIGHT SWITCH SO THE PIR SENSOR IS ACTIVATED AGAIN?

Turn off the power from the lamp and keep it OFF for a minimum of 6 seconds. Then turn on the power again, this takes 1 minute to reset the sensor to normal functioning via “Auto-mode”.
