INTENDED USE / SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- DO NOT exceed maximum hose pressure of 300 psi.
- Hose reel is for use with compressed air only. Never use with bottled or compressed gases.
- Do not open spring cover. Spring wound under tension. There are no user serviceable parts inside.
- Use OSHA-approved eye protection and other appropriate protective equipment when using pneumatic tools attached to the hose reels, adjusting recoil tension, or replacing hose.
- Do not use air hose if it is damaged. Check hose regularly for damages, leaks, breaks, or punctures before using.
- Hold onto tool as hose recoils. Do not put fingers into the roller guide.
- Hose should be recoiled after use. Loose hoses can be a tripping or choking hazard.
- Keep hose reel away from children.
- Do not hang from hose or use hose as a tie down/
- Do not use solvents or abrasives to clean the hose or hose reel
- Do not rotate spool while adjusting recoil tension.
- Installation requires two people. The hose reel weighs 34 lbs.
- Do not install on ceilings less than 10’ from the floor.

COMPONENTS & DIMENSIONS
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Check the reel function by slowly pulling the hose out to extend it. You should hear 8 clicking noises per revolution.
- To lock reel in position, stop pulling immediately after the first, second, third, or fourth click. Pulling less than half of a revolution more after the fourth click will also lock reel in place.
- To unlock, slowly pull until the clicking stops and let the hose retract until the hose stopper hits the roller on the guide arm. Hold onto the hose while it is rewinding to control the speed and to avoid damage to the hose reel. Do not place fingers near or in the roller guide.
MOUNTING LOCATION AND POSITION
Reel can be mounted on the floor, wall, or ceiling. Use installation instructions below for your application. Allow adequate clearance to plumb service or air supply source and a minimum of 12” from each side of the mounting plate to walls or other objects. The hose reel is supplied with a 3’ flexible connector hose to attach to air supply.
CEILING MOUNTING – Minimum height 10 feet
The guide arm is by default set to be mounted onto a ceiling.
- Tape template provided onto the ceiling in desired location. Place template so edge marked “BOTTOM” is positioned at the rear of the unit. Reel should be mounted as drawing indicates a minimum of 10’ from the floor. Leave a minimum of 12” from adjoining walls or other objects.
- Mark the mounting hole locations.
- Use appropriate anchors and mounting bolts for the ceiling structure (mounting hardware not included). Ensure hose reel is being attached to structure capable of supporting the weight and continuous use and forces of the hose extending and retracting (approximately 250 lbs).
- Fasteners with diameter 3/8” or 1/2” are recommended in conjunction with appropriate flat washers.
WALL MOUNTING ABOVE 5’
- Adjust the guide arm position 90 degrees for wall mounting above 5’ on the wall.
- Tape template provided onto the wall in desired location. Place template so edge marked “BOTTOM” is on the edge closest to the floor. Leave a minimum of 12” from adjoining walls or other objects.
- Mark the mounting hole locations.
- Use appropriate anchors and mounting bolts for the wall structure (mounting hardware not included). Ensure hose reel is being attached to structure capable of supporting the weight and continuous use and forces of the hose extending and retracting (approximately 250 lbs).
- Fasteners with diameter 3/8” or 1/2” are recommended in conjunction with appropriate flat washers.
WALL MOUNTING BETWEEN 1’-5‘
The guide arm is by default set to be mounted onto a wall for locations
between 1’-5’ from the floor.
- Tape template provided onto the wall in desired location. Place template so edge marked “BOTTOM” is on the edge closest to the floor. Reel should be mounted as drawing shows for locations between 1’-5’.
RECOMMENDATION FOR EASIER WALL INSTALLATION
FLOOR MOUNTING
- Adjust the guide arm position 90 degrees for floor mounting.
- Tape template provided onto the wall in desired location. Place template so edge marked “BOTTOM” is closest to the work zone. Leave a minimum of 12” from adjoining walls or other objects.
- Mark the mounting hole locations.
- Use appropriate anchors and mounting bolts for he floor structure (mounting hardware not included). Ensure hose reel is being attached to structure capable of supporting the weight and continuous use and forces of the hose extending and retracting (approximately 250 lbs).
- Fasteners with diameter 3/8” or 1/2” are recommended in conjunction with appropriate flat washers.
CONNECTING HOSE REEL TO AIR SUPPLY
- A 3’ connector hose is provided with the unit. Apply thread-sealing tape (not included) to the threads of the 3/8” NPT male fitting (the end with the sleeve protector), and connect it to the air inlet fiting on the side of the reel. Do not overtighten.
- Slide the plastic sleeve protector into place
- A locking shut off valve must be used between air supply and hose reel.
- The other end of the supplied 3′ connector hose has a swivel 3/8″ NPT female fitting for connecting to the compressed air supply.
ADJUSTING RECOIL TENSION (IF NEEDED)
WARNING Do not rotate spool while adjusting recoil tension
-
Shut off compressor. Close and lock valve with OSHA-approved lockout-tagout device.
-
Pull out about 6 feet of hose an ensure reel spool locks in place, preventing retraction.
-
Remove nuts and screws from hose stopper then remove hose stopper from air hose allowing hose to hang loose.
-
Pull hose end back and out of roller guide
-
TO INCREASE TENSION: Wrap hose one loop around spool and feed end of hose through the roller guide.
TO DECREASE TENSION: trom spontand too hot of hose through roller guide. -
Reattach hose stopper at original position.
