INSTALLATION PLANNING

  • Before beginning the installation and use of the JATRHG charging station, the user must always read this document carefully, take into account all the warnings, and follow all the instructions outlined in this manual.
  • The following recommendations should be considered:
  • The JATRHG charging station must always be installed by qualified personnel in accordance with the electrical regulations applicable in your country
  • Ensure that the charging station can be vertically installed on a solid, fire-resistant wall or on the optional metal pole;
  • Ensure there is enough space for the installation of the charging station.
  • Ensure that the required power cable (not included) from the junction box to the charging station can be installed in accordance with the electrical regulations applicable in your country;
  • Ensure that the electric vehicle can be parked near the charging station for extended periods, so that the charging connector with an 8 m cable can be plugged into the electric vehicle’s charging socket; If an optional metal pole is used, ensure it is mounted at the highest point off the ground so that the base of the metal pole does not sit in a puddle of water during rain.

Instructions before use

  • Current and Scheduled Time Settings should be made before plugging the connector into the electric vehicle:
  • The installation and connection of this charging device to the power grid must be operated by professional personnel.
  • During the installation, maintenance or replacement of the charging station, the power supply must be cut off to prevent electric shock.
  • The power supply must be consistent with the requirements of this charger, and the ground wire must be reliably grounded.
  • All tools used should be insulated to prevent exposed metal parts from touching the metal frame, causing a short circuit.
  • Do not modify, retrofit, or change any part by yourself under any circumstances.
  • Please strictly follow the design parameters and operating conditions during use and do not exceed the threshold in this user manual, otherwise the equipment may be damaged.
  • Ensure the service life and operation of the mobile charger are stable, and the environment for use of the equipment should be kept as clean, constant temperature and humidity as possible. The mobile charger must not be used in the presence of volatile gas or flammable atmosphere.
  • Keep the charger away from children.

Usage Steps:
Step 1. Turn on the power
Turn on the power. At the top right corner of the machine, there is a power button that you need to press to turn on the device. Once the power is on, the screen will light up and display “System Starting Up…” in the Notification section.
You will need to wait a few seconds for the system to load the program until the “System Starting Up…” message disappears.

Step 2. Setting the Language:
Initially, the system defaults to an English interface. If you wish to switch to French, German, Spanish, or Italian, press and hold the current button for 3 seconds to switch to French, then another 3 seconds to switch to German, followed by Spanish and Italian. Release the button once the desired language is displayed to confirm your selection. The system will save your choice and automatically apply it the next time the machine is powered on.

Step 3. Setting the Current:
The screen will display the current selection under “Current”. If you need to adjust it, simply press the current button to cycle through different current options. The system will save your last selection and automatically apply your settings the next time the machine is powered on.

Step 4 Setting Scheduled Charging Time:
If you wish to delay the start of charging to avoid peak electricity hours, you can set a scheduled charging time by pressing the scheduled time button. Each press increases the delay by 30 minutes. The system will begin a countdown as soon as you plug in the charging connector, and charging will commence when the countdown reaches zero. When the scheduled countdown begins, the LED indicator will turn to a steady blue light.

There are two ways to cancel a scheduled charge:

  1. Press and hold the scheduled time button for 3 seconds; the timer will reset to 00:00:00, effectively canceling the scheduled charge.
  2. The maximum scheduling limit is 12 hours. If the time exceeds 12 hours, the timer will automatically reset to 00:00:00, canceling the scheduled charge.

Step 5 Charging
Open the cover of the electric vehicle’s charging port, insert the Type 2 connector into the vehicle, and ensure it is securely connected. During the charging process, the LED indicator will display a green pulsing light. If the Type 2 connector is not fully inserted and properly secured, the electric vehicle may not accept the charge.

Step 6 Charging Complete:
Once charging is complete, the LED indicator will turn to a steady green light, and the screen will display the charging duration and energy consumption. At this point, you can unplug the EV Type 2 connector, close the cover of the electric vehicle’s charging port, and also cover the Type 2 connector with its rubber cap. Neatly store the cable; the screen information will disappear once the EV connector is unplugged.

Step 7 Power off
After use, you can press the power button to turn off the device.

WARNING: In the event of a critical error, smoke emission, or fire, the device must be immediately shut down.

Mode and LED indicator Overview

Standby
When no current flows from the charging station to the electric vehicle, this condition is collectively referred to as Standby mode. This mode is divided into four states:

  • Standby State 1: The Type 2 EV connector is not inserted, but the JATRHG charging station is ready. At this time, the LED indicator flashes blue.
In State 1 mode, if no button press or plug insertion is detected within two minutes, the screen will power off and the system will enter sleep mode. Any button press or plug insertion will wake the system from sleep mode.

  • Standby State 2: The Type 2 EV connector is inserted, but a charging schedule has been set on the JATRHG charging station. The LED indicator is steadily blue with a countdown delay displayed.

  • Standby State 3: The Type 2 EV connector is inserted, and the JATRHG charging station is ready, but the vehicle’s S2 switch is not activated. In this case, the LED indicator remains steadily blue.

When the vehicle’s S2 switch is off, it indicates that the car does not permit charging. This could be due to several reasons, such as:

  1. You have set a scheduled waiting time on the vehicle side.
  2. The connector plug is not fully inserted.
  3. The vehicle’s self-diagnosis did not pass.

Standby State 4: The Type 2 EV connector is inserted, and the vehicle is fully charged. At this time, the LED indicator is steadily green.

Charging

  • When current flows from the charging station to the electric vehicle, it is in charging mode. The charging station will exit charging mode once the battery is fully charged.
  • During charging mode, you cannot modify the current or scheduled charging time.

Fault
When the JATRHG system detects a fault, it will enter Fault Mode, rendering the charging station inoperative. Fault information will be displayed in the Notification area of the screen:

  • High Input Voltage
  • Low Input Voltage
  • Motherboard Temperature Too High
