Product Usage Instructions
Installation / Putting into Operation:
The direction of pump rotation:
When looking at the crankshaft with the valve casing mounted on the left-
hand side, the rotation should be counterclockwise. If the valve casing is
mounted on the right-hand side, the rotation should be clockwise.
Operation:
Note:
Refer to the assembly instructions for detailed information on operation.
Maintenance and Servicing:
Type of thread locker and tightening torques:
- Refer to the table in the exploded view for information on the type of thread locker used and the required tightening torques.
Special tools required:
- No special tools are required for assembly.
Suction and Discharge Valves:
- Screw out plugs (32) with a 12-point socket wrench.
- Check suction and discharge valves under the plugs by taking them out with flat tongs.
Seals and Plunger:
- Loosen screws (34) to remove the valve casing (26).
- Remove the drip-return ring (25), support ring (24), and grooved seals (23) carefully.
- Wet new seals and O-rings thinly with silicone grease or mineral oil before insertion.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
-
Q: How often should I change the oil in the pump?
A: For intermittent operation, change oil after 50 operating hours, then every 500 hours or at least once every 12 months. -
Q: What should I do if I notice lime deposits on the plunger surfaces?
A: Lime deposits should be removed promptly to prevent damage to the plunger surfaces and ensure proper operation of the pump.
In addition to the information in this data sheet, the SPECK-TRIPLEX-PLUNGER PUMPS assembly instructions must be observed.

Dimensions
Installation / Putting into Operation
To Turn the Drive Shaft to the Other Side
- Remove the valve casing.
- Turn the seal adaptors (20) by 180° also so that the leakage holes are underneath.
- Remount valve casing rotated 180°.
- Interchange plug (5) and oil dipstick (2) with each other. Turn crankcase cover (3) by 180°.
The direction of pump rotation
When looking at the crankshaft with valve casing mounted on the left-hand
side, counterclockwise direction of rotation. When looking at the crankshaft
with valve casing mounted on the right-hand side, the clockwise direction of
rotation.
Suction line filter
Recommended mesh size 150 µm.
Operation
For pieces of information, see assembly instructions SPECK-TRIPLEX-PLUNGER PUMPS
Maintenance and Servicing
For the type of thread locker used and the required tightening torques, observe the table in the exploded view.
Special tools required
No special tools are required for assembly.
Suction and Discharge Valves
- Screw out plugs (32) with a 12-point socket wrench. Check suction and discharge valves that are under the plugs by taking out the valves with a pair of flat tongs and then taking them apart.
- Examine valve plate (28) and valve seat (27).
- Tighten plugs (32) to the required torque.
- Take care to reassemble in the correct sequence.
Seals and Plunger
- Loosen screws (34) and remove valve casing (26) by pulling it off over the plungers.
- Remove the drip-return ring (25), support ring (24), and grooved seal (black) (23) from the valve casing (26) Remove the grooved seal (brown) (23A) from the seal adaptor (20).
- Wet new seals and O-rings thinly with silicone grease or mineral oil and insert carefully.
- Pay attention to the installation position of the seals.
- Check O-rings (21) and replace if necessary.
- Check plunger surfaces (16).
- Damaged surfaces cause hard wear on seals.
- Lime deposits or similar on the plunger must be removed.
- The plunger surface must not be damaged in the process.
- In the case of lime deposits in the pump, care must be taken that the drip-return bores in parts (25) and (26) ensure trouble-free drip return.
- If the plunger pipe (16B) is worn out, loosen the tension screw (16C) and remove it together with the plunger pipe. Check and clean the contact surface on the plunger (16A), fit the new plunger pipe.
- Cover the thread of the tension screw (16C) with a thin coat of thread locker and tighten carefully to the required torque.
- Under no circumstances should the thread-locker get between the plunger pipe (16B) and the centering neck on the plunger (16A). Tensioning of the plunger pipe due to eccentric tightening of the tensioning screw or due to dirt or damage to the contact surface can lead to breakage of the plunger pipe.
- When assembling, tighten the screws (34) to the required torque.
If required, supplementary assembly instructions can be requested from the manufacturer SPECK-KOLBENPUMPENFABRIK, Geretsried.
