 Key Notes Before Start

Stable Printimg Environment
Store your 3D printer in a dry and  wellventilated environment. Place it onaflat surface and avoid direct sunlight exposure. Protective Measures
When handling resins or prints, please wear Personal Protective quipment such as gloves, masks, protective goggles, and long-sleeved clothes.
Maintenance
Clean the Z-Axis
First, wipe the Ball Screw with Lint Free Wipes. Then, apply some lithium- based lubricant so the ball screw spins smoothly.
Clean the 3D Printer
Use 95% alcohol and Lint Free Wipes to carefullyclean the printer, resin vat, and the building plate.

Pre-Calibrated Z-Axis design
The Sonic Mega 8K V2 comes with a pre-calibrated building plate. You can start printing straight out of the box.
If the building plate, Z-rod, LCD panel, or screen protector was previously replaced, please perform ” Z-Axis Calibration”.

Prepare Your 3D Printer

For first-time use, please thoroughly follow the steps below to conduct the LCD Test to make sure that your 3D printer is ready to print.
LCD Test

  1. Click on” TOOLS “. Then click on” LCD TEST”.
  2. Check to see if the LCD screen displays the same image as seen on the touch panel.
  3. WhentheLCD screen clearly displays all the images, the LCD TEST is complete.
  • Please referto the actual operation situation based on the printer display.
    Z-Offset Setting
    Reposition your Z-Axis to print flat objects on the builiding It is also helpful if the resin is viscous.

    1. Tighten the screws on your fesinvatand bulding plate. Make sture the building plate and resin vatare clean from any debris.
    2. Click” Move to Z-Axis Zero Position “
    3. Adjust the Z-Axis zero position based on your printing needs.
    4. Click”Reset ZOffset ” then click on ” SET “to completethesetting.

Tips: Reflashing the firmware and performing Move to Z-Axis Zero Position willreset the Z-Offset setting. Please check the Z-Offset setting before each printing

Z-Axis Calibration

  1. Remove theresin vat and the building plate. Clean the building plate and placeit on’a clean flatsurface.
  2. Loosen the 4 cap serewson thebuilding plate, and loosen thed set screws until the gap is no longer visible: Check f the upper partof the building plate can make contact with the lower part.
  3. Restore the building plate back onto the printer, Ensure that both the building plate and the LCD panel are clean and free of foreign objects.
  4. Place an Adpaper on each side of the LCD panel. Click” Moveto Zeaxis zefo point” and wait for the building plate to be leveled against the LCD panel.
  5. Diagonally tighten the 4 set screws until they make contact with the blocks below. Then tighten the 4 ap screws.
  6. Pullthe A4 paper at the 4 cormers to ensure equal friction between them to complete the Z-axis calibration.
    If the friction is uneven, simply loosen and tighten the 4 cap screws to adjust.

Prepare Your Print File

The Sonic Mega 8KV2 supports both .CTB and .PRZ file formats.
Use slicer software to turn STLand OBJ files intoCTB or PRZ files.
Convert.STL/.OBJ File to .CTB/.PRZ File

  1. Import STLor.0B) files into the slicer software and add supparts toyour models to secure themtothe building plate.
  2. Choose the” Soric Mega 8KV2″ printer intheslicer. Set theresin parameters according toyour resinandslice.
  3. After the slicing is completed, saveit asa T o PRZfile and the file s readly tobe printed.

Test Files for Your First Print

  1. The UsB included inthe toolbox contains both STLand CTBfiles of twotest models: ” Phrozen_test “and ” Phrozen_XP_Finder”.
  2. You can directly print the CTB files in the USB with Aqua-Gray 8k Resin.Ifyou are printing with other resins, slice the STL files with the sitable parameter settings required for your resin.

File Import & Ethernet

Sonic Mega 8K V2 canimport files either via USB or via Ethernet.
Import Files viaUSB

  1. Save the .CTB or PRZ file ta your USB, and plug the USB into the printer.
  2. On the “Print ” menu on your touch panel click” PRINT” > select the file you want to print > Print “,

Importing via Ethernet

  1. Insert the USB and connect your printer to the same router as your computer,
  2. Clickon” TOOLS”, and select ” NETWORK ” to checkthe IPaddress of the 3D prirtet. * The P address.in this photo s for reference only.
  3. Operatethe CHITUBOX slicer onyour computer. Afterslicing your 3D file, click on ” Network Sending* to send your il to the printer.
  4. Make sureto selectthe CHITUBOX licer (*CTB or PRZ)as your file type before sending it over to your 3D printer’s IP address:
  5. After successfully sending over your file, cick on ” OK ” to start printing immediately.
  6. If not, dlick on* Cancel , the file will  direectily be stored onto the USB diive pluigged in to your printer.

First Test Print

Use Aqua-Gray 8K Resin’and the ” Phrozen_Mega_XP_Finder_Mega8KV2_AQEK.ctb file to perform the test.

  1. Tighten the screws on your resin vat and building plate. Make sure the building plate and resin vat are clean from any debris
  2. Shake the resin bottle for 1 minute. Pour the resin into the vat without exceeding the maximummark.
  3. Insertthe USB, find the testfile named ” Phrozen_MegaXP Finder_ MegaBKV2. AQBKcth” and start printing itwith Aqua- Gray 8K resin.
  4. While printing please keep the printer doorclosed tapreventlight exposurethat may affect your prints.
  5. Oncethe printing is compléted, arefully remove the building plate. and useametal scraper to carefully removeyour print.
  6. Use 295% sanitizing alcohol ora Phrozen Wash Resin Cleaner to clean your printed models. After it fully dried, post-cure your models witha Curing Station.

NOTICE: When installing the resin vat, please align the screws at the bottom of the resin vat with the platform grooves to avoid damage caused by the screws scratching the LCD panel.
