Product Usage Instructions

  • Section 1: Replacing Service Parts for GR1VH Series
    • After replacing the B** board, Panel, or T-Con, you need to upgrade the software using USB memory. Upgrade the software even if replacing the Panel only.
    • Before upgrading the software, ensure to disconnect all cables.
    • After upgrading the version, confirm the NVM Version, Model Name, Software version, and Serial Number from the Service menu. Incorrect settings can affect the set’s capabilities.
    • When upgrading software, make sure to download the most recent version. If the software on the repair board is already newer than the upgraded version, the software will not be upgraded.
  • Section 2: USB Memory Format
    • There is no special restriction on USB memory. If the USB memory is recognized when connected to a computer, it can be used. The USB memory should be formatted in FAT32.
    • USB Recommendation: USB media must be a Sony product and have a capacity of more than 2GB (4GB or higher recommended).
  • Section 3: USB Update File Preparation
    • Procedure:
    • Obtain the correct and latest SW PKG (atvota file).
    • Unzip atvota file (e.g., sony_atvotafull_20xx_zzzzzzzzzz_yyy_auth.zip).
    • After unzipping, a folder of sony_atvotafull_20xx_zzzzzzzzzz_yyy_auth will be created. This folder contains sony_dtvxxxxxxxxxxxx_xxxxxxxx_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.zip.
    • Copy this zip file to the root of your USB pen drive.

Replacing Service Parts for GR1VH Series

  1. After replacing the B board, Panel, or T-Con you need to upgrade Software by using the USB memory. (Upgrade Software even if replacing the Panel only.)
  2. Before upgrading the Software, be sure to disconnect all cables.
  3. After upgrading the version, you need to confirm the NVM Version, Model Name, Software version and Serial Number from the Service menu. (Incorrect settings affect the set’s capabilities.)
  4. When upgrading Software, be sure to download the most recent version. (If the version of Software already on the repair board is newer than the version of Software for upgrade, Software is not upgraded.)
    • Remark: List of (B** Board); please refer to each segment Service Manual for details.

USB Memory Format.

  1. There is no special restriction on USB memory. If you connect the USB memory to the computer and it is recognized, you can use it.
  2. The USB memory should be formatted in FAT32.
  3. USB recommendation:
    • USB media must be Sony product
    • And the capacity must be more than
    • 2GB. (4GB or higher is recommended.)

  1. Obtain the correct and the latest SW PKG. (atvotafile)
  2. Unzip atvotafile. (sony_atvotafull_20xx_zzzzzzzzzz_yyy_auth.zip)
    • Note: fine name may differ depending on the destination
  3. After unzipping, a folder of sony_atvotafull_20xx_zzzzzzzzzz_yyy_authwill be created This folder consists of sony_dtvxxxxxxxxxxxx_xxxxxxxx_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.zip
  4. Copy this zip file to the root of your USB pen drive.
