GENERAL SAFETY

  1. Read Instructions: All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the appliance is operated.

  2. Retain Instructions: The safety and operating instructions should be well-kept for future reference.

  3. Heed Warnings: All warnings on the appliance and in the operating instructions should be adhered to.

  4. Follow Instructions: All operating and use instructions should be followed.

Quick Set Up Guide

When you start the picture frame for the first time, you need to set it up.

  • Select the language. This will be the language used on the frame.
  • Connect the frame to the Internet via Wi-Fi.
  • Confirm/change the date and time.
  • The frame may ask you to upgrade to the latest version. If requested, it is recommended to upgrade the frame before proceeding.
  • Enter the name and the scene in which the frame will be used, e.g. “John Doe” and “Living room”, “Kitchen” or “Office “. Finally, set the time zone if necessary.

Start using Frameo

  • Next, connect the frame to your friends and family by sharing the code generated by the frame with them.
  • If you want to send a photo to the frame yourself, first download the app for iOS or Android from the App Store or Google Play respectively. Then use this code to connect your frame to the app.
  • Connecting new friends
  • Make sure your friends have downloaded and installed the Frameo application.
  • Click on the Add Friend icon on the picture frame.
  • A dialogue box will pop up showing the connection code, which is valid for 12 hours. Share the code with your friend in any way you like, e.g. SMS, email, instant messenger, phone call, etc.
  • Once your friend has added the code to their mobile app, they will automatically appear on your photo frame and will be able to send you a photo.

Use Frameo

  • Swipe left or right to navigate through the photos. To access the menu, simply tap the screen once.

  • The menu offers the most frequently used functions.
  • Add Friends
  • This action will generate a code that you can share with your friends and family to allow them to connect your frame and send photos to your frame.
  • Settings Open Settings.
  • Power menu
  • Open the power menu.
  • React
  • Hide photos
  • Hide the current photo. This means that this photo will no longer be displayed in the slide show. If required, this can be set via the settings menu to redisplay the photo.
  • Gallery
  • Open the gallery and browse photos easily and quickly in the gallery.
  • Adaptation to photo Fill Frames/Fit to Frame
  • This operation switches the photo display.

The “Fill frame'” option is selected by default. The photo is scaled to fill the entire screen. The photo will be displayed centered on the area selected as the most important part. Please see the first image below.
“Fit to frame” will ensure that the entire photo is displayed on the screen. Please see the second image below.

Adjust Photo
You can adjust the photo to place it in a more suitable position in the frame. Press to rotate the photo and use edit to import the caption of the photo. For incoming photos, you can let the sender edit the photo’s caption in the Frameo app.

During Video Playing

  • Press to start playing the video, and press to pause the video playing.
  • Press to open the volume bar. Slide the volume bar to adjust the volume of the video sound.
  • When the volume bar is displayed on the Screen, Press to mute the unit , and press to unmute the unit.

Power menu

  • Click on the power icon to access the power menu. You can click on the to power off the device, click on the to reboot the device, click on the to put the device into sleep mode.

Note: Ensure that the frame is always switched off using the power off button on the device or in the power menu. Do not power off the frame while it is running.

  • Press the React Icon to select one of the reactions to share your feelings with the sender.

External storage menu
When inserting an external storage (e.g. a microSD card) a menu will automatically appear with three options: Press to play photos directly from the external storage, press to import photos to the internal memory of your frame or press to make a backup of your frame.

Clock and Weather widgets
The current time and weather will appear in the upper-right corner of the frame when the frame has received at least one photo. Tapping either of these will open the weather menu.
Weather menu
The weather menu contains more detailed weather forecasts and has shortcuts to weather-related settings.

  • Shows the weather location of your frame. Tap to access the weather location settings.

1 DAY

  • 1-day forecast which includes weather conditions for periods of the day.

4 DAY

  • 4-day forecast. Tap to see the weather forecast for the next four days.
  • Displays the frame’s current time. Tap to access the time settings.

My Frame

  • This setting allows you to personalize your photo frame to suit your needs.

Frame Name

  • Change the name of the photo frame. The name will also be displayed in the list of connected photo frames in the connected friends’ and family’s smartphone apps.

Frame Location

  • Change the position of the photo frame. This position is displayed in your friends and family’s list of connected frames to help distinguish between different friends’ picture frames.

Set Language

  • Set the language to be used on the photo frame.

Weather location

  • Sets the location for the frame’s weather feature, ensuring that your frame displays the appropriate weather forecast for you.

Temperature unit

  • Toggles between the Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature scales.

Date

  • Set the date of the photo frame.

Time

  • The frame automatically updates the date and time when you set the frame time to connect to the network.

Time Zone

  • Set the time zone used on the photo frame.

Set the first day of the week

  • Sets which day of the week is considered the first.

Use 24-hour format

  • Enable or disable the 24-hour system.

Manage Photos

  • In the Manage Photos menu, you can view the number of photos in the frame and the storage space occupied. It is also possible to view the remaining storage space on the device.

Show/hide photos

  • Select the photo you want to hide by tapping on it. The hidden photo will not be deleted from the frame and can be re-displayed at any time.
  • Use to hide or show all photos.

Delete photos

  • Select the photo to be permanently deleted from the frame by tapping on it.
  • Use to select all or unselect all.
  • Use to permanently delete selected photos.

Import photos

  • Allows you to import photos from an external storage (e.g. microSD card).
  • Before you try to import photos, make sure you have an external storage (e.g. microSD card) inserted into your frame with the photos you wish to import.
  • Start by selecting the photos that you want to import onto your frame. Once selected tap the import button to start the import process.
  • Use to select or deselect all photos on the external storage (e.g. microSD card).
  • Use to set the sort order of photos before import and to order by ascending/descending.

Transfer from computer

  • Allows you to transfer photos from a computer using a USB cable. Enable the feature and then follow the on-screen guide for step-by-step instructions on how to transfer photos to your frame.

Export photos

  • Allows you to export photos from the frame to an external storage device (e.g. microSD card). The export function will export all photos and profile pictures in the frame.

Play from external storage

  • Enables/disables playback of photos and videos directly from an external storage (e.g. microSD card) without taking up space on the frame.

My Friends

  • This list contains all the connected friends who have been allowed to send photos to your frame.
  • Click on the options icon to open the buddy options menu. From here, you can allow/disallow friends to share codes to your photo frame.
  • In this option menu, you can also delete a friend by pressing the “Delete friend” button. This will remove the friend from the list and thus remove their permission to send photos to this frame. The device will ask you to confirm the deletion, asking if you want to delete all photos previously received from this friend.

Add Friend

  • To allow new people to send you photos, simply tap the Add Friends button and share the code displayed in the way you prefer.

Display

Brightness level
Adjust the screen brightness level.
Sleep mode
The frame offers a sleep mode in which the screen is turned off to reduce energy consumption. The default setting is to turn the screen off at 23:00 and back on at 07:00. To change this setting, simply set the hibernation mode start/end time. Your frame will not switch off or go into standby mode, so you can still receive photos in hibernate mode.
This can be altered by changing your sleep schedule(s). It is possible to have multiple schedules active at once to e.g. have different settings for weekdays and the weekend or a separate schedule to turn off the frame while at work.
Note: Your frame is not powered down or in standby, so you will still be able to receive photos during sleep mode.

Slideshow

Timer
Set the time between photo display.
Fill frame
Set the default photo frame photo settings. When checked, the setting is set to Default Fill and the photo will adapt to the device screen according to its most important parts. When unchecked, the photo will fit within the device screen and add blurred bands on the left and right or top and bottom sides.
Frame background
Choose from one of several different photo frame background options, if the photo is not spread across the screen it will be displayed as a bar.
Photo display order
Set the order in which the photos are displayed in the photo frame.

  • By date received
  • By date taken
  • Shuffle

Reverse photo display order
Photos are displayed newest to oldest.
Show caption
Set whether to display the photo captions that your friends send with their photos. When checked, shows the photo caption. Hide photo captions when unchecked.
Show clock
Set whether or not to display the clock widget in the upper-right corner of the slideshow.
Show weather
Set whether or not to display the weather widget in the upper-right corner of the slideshow.
Autoplay
Enable/disable automatic video playback in slideshows. Videos can always be started manually and are not subject to this setting.
Video playback
Determine how the video will play when AutoPlay is enabled.

  • Loop videos
  • Play once
  • Play once and continue

Auto mute
Automatically mute video volume after 10 minutes.
Video volume
Adjust the video volume of the picture frame.

Wi-Fi

  • If you are connecting to a network with a mandatory portal, the connection status will indicate that Wi-Fi login is required and will be displayed . Tap this icon to open the login screen, where you can enter your credentials to access the network.
  • Tap to display details of the current Wi-Fi connection.
  • Tap to reset Wi-Fi.

Notification

Show notifications

  • Enable/disable whether notifications are displayed in the slideshow (e.g. when a new photo is received).

Notification Volume

  • Adjust the notification volume.

Storage space

  • Enable/disable the display of notifications when the photo frame is running low on storage space.

Backup

  • Enable/disable the display of notifications when automatic backups fail.

Network connection

  • Enable/disable notification of network connection status.

New photos

  • Enable/disable the display of notifications when a new photo is received.

New Friends

  • Enable/disable the display of notifications when friends are added.

Software update

  • Enable/disable the display of notifications when software updates are installed.

Feature news

  • Enable/disable the display of notifications when new features are added.

Date and time

  • Turn on/off notifications if the time or date is set incorrectly.

Backup and Restore

Backup frame to external storage (e.g. microSD Card)

  • Tap to back up your photos, friends and settings. The time of the last successful backup is also shown here. Any existing backups on external storage devices will be overwritten!

Automatic backup

  • When selected, the frame will be automatically backed up within 30 hours of receiving a new photo or changing the frame.

Restore from Backup

  • Before attempting to restore a frame, first make sure that the backup is up to date. Check the date of the backup under “Backup frame to an external storage device (e.g. microSD card)”. For example, if the last backup is too early or has not been made, press the “Backup frame to an external storage device (e.g. microSD card)” button to make a new backup.
  • Note: To enable both the old and new frames to work at the same time after restoring from a backup, make sure you update both frames to the latest version in advance. If you want to restore a backup on a frame that has already been set up, you must first reset the frame. This is done by pressing the “Reset frame” button. This will delete all the data on the frame and reset the frame to its settings screen.

Reset frame

  • Delete all data from the photo frame. This will permanently delete all photos, friends/connections and settings.

Guide
Shows the quick start guide, which was shown when you first started the frame.
Support
Find contact information for Frameo’s support team, and find technical device information. The menu features a special QR code that is there for our support staff to scan. It contains additional device details and information, enabling our support team to efficiently address your specific concerns and provide accurate assistance. Simply take a photo of the QR code and share it with our support staff.

About

Peer ID

  • This is a unique ID for your photo frame. When contacting our support, please provide this ID with your message.

Frameo version

  • Shows what version of the Frameo software is currently installed on your frame.

Check for update

  • Check if an update is available for your frame.

Beta program

  • If checked the device will join the Beta program where it will receive updates more frequently and before normal release devices.

Third party attributions

  • Open source libraries.
  • Opens a list of open source libraries used in the app and their licenses.

Share anonymous analytics data

  • Sharing anonymous analytics data helps us tremendously to improve the Frameo software. We understand if you do not wish to share this data with us. Keep it checked if you wish to help us improve Frameo. Set unchecked to deny the sharing of anonymous analytics data.
