Product Usage Instructions
Safety Precautions
Before using the soundbar, please read and adhere to the following safety instructions:
- Read and keep the operating instructions for future reference.
- Avoid using the soundbar near water or moisture.
- In severe weather conditions, unplug the soundbar to prevent damage from power surges.
- Do not attempt to service the soundbar beyond user-described instructions.
- Use only the specified power supply as described in the operating instructions.
- Unplug the power cord during long periods of non-use.
- Handle the soundbar with care when moving it with a cart or stand to prevent overturning.
Control Overview
The soundbar comes with a remote control featuring various functions:

Explanation of Graphical Symbols

REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY INSTALLATION
- Slide and lift the battery door.
- Install 2 (two) AAA-size batteries (not included)into the battery compartment as indicated by the polarity markings.
- Close the battery door.
- Use only the size and type of battery specified.
- Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the battery as indicated in the battery compartment, a reserved battery may cause damage to the device.
- Do not mix different types of batteries (e.g. Alkaline and Carbon-zinc) or old batteries with fresh ones.
- If the batteries in the device are consumed or the device is not to be used for a long time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible leakage.
- Do not try to recharge the battery not intended to be recharged; it can overheat and rupture. (Follow battery manufacturer’s instructions)
- The batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
- Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device before battery installation.
REMOTE CONTROL OPERATION
- When there is an obstacle between the transmitter and the unit, the unit may not operate.
- When direct sunlight, an incandescent lamp, a fluorescent lamp or any other strong light shines on the REMOTE SENSOR of the unit, the operation of the remote may be unstable.
PLACEMENT AND MOUNTING
Placing the device on the table – Ventilation
When placing the Sound Bar on an entertainment centre, bookshelf, or any type
of enclosed space, be sure to allow at least 2-3 inches of space around the
Sound Bar for ventilation. If the Sound Bar is enclosed in a tight space,
without ventilation, heat generated from the Sound Bar could produce a
potential heat hazard.
Mounting the Sound Bar onto a wall
We recommend having this Sound Bar professionally mounted. By using the
included wall mounting metal brackets, the Sound Bar can be mounted onto a
wall.
Distance between two brackets
Mounting to a wooden wall
- Mark the position of the mounting screws on the wall using a pencil.
- Drill the screws directly into the marks that you have made on the wall and leave approx. 0.3 inches in length to hook the sound bar.
- Put the sound bar onto the mounting screws. Make sure they are firm and stable.
Mounting to a brick wall
- Mark the position of the mounting screws on the wall using a pencil.
- Drill 2 holes on the wall with a powerful electric drill.
- Insert the fixing plug and hammer into the holes.
- Secure the screws into the fixing plug and leave approx. 0.3 inches in length to hook the sound bar.
- Put the sound bar onto the mounting screws. Make sure they are firm and stable.
GENERAL OPERATION
- Connect the AC/DC adapter to the unit and wall outlet.
- Press and hold the power button on the unit or remote control to power on the unit.
- Press MODE button on the unit or on the Remote Control repeatedly to switch to desired mode.
- During Playing:
Press button on the Remote Control to stop playback. Press again to resume playback.
Press button on Remote Control to skip to next track and press button on Remote Control to skip to previous track.
Press the VOL- / VOL+ buttons on the unit or Remote Control to adjust volume level as desired. Press the Mute button on the Remote Control to mute the sound on the soundbar. Press again to resume. When finished listening, press and hold the Power button to enter standby mode. If the unit is not used for long period of time, please disconnect the power.
BLUETOOTH OPERATION
- Power on the unit.
- Press Mode button on the unit or button on Remote Control repeatedly to switch to Bluetooth mode.
- Power on the external Bluetooth enabled device and enter Bluetooth mode to search the pairing name of the unit.
- When MX-SB270 appears, select it to make the connection.
- During Playing:
Press button on the Remote Control to stop playback. Press again to resume playback.
Press or button on Remote Control to skip to next or previous track.
NOTES
After first time connection, the unit will automatically connect with the last
connected device when their Bluetooth function are activated and both are in
working range.
LISTENING TO AUXILIARY SOURCE
- Connect your auxiliary source (e.g. iPod/iPad/MP3 player) to the 3.5mm AUX IN jack.
- Power on the unit.
- Press MODE button on the unit or button on Remote Control repeatedly to switch to the AUX mode.
- Start playback from your auxiliary source.
- Adjust the volume to desired level.
- To stop playback, disconnect your auxiliary source from the INPUT jacks.
OPTICAL IN OPERATION
Before connecting, disconnect power.
Listen to music by the Optical Out Jack from an external Video Player or
Television
- Connect one end of optical connection cable (not supplied) to the OPTICAL IN jack on the rear of the unit.
- Connect the other end to the OPTICAL OUT jack on TV Back panel.
- Power on the unit.
- Press MODE button on the unit or button on Remote Control repeatedly to switch to the OPTICAL IN mode.
Note
If there is no audio output (only picture) or noise when your TV or DVD player
is connected to the unit, please check DVD player or TV audio setting, and set
the Digital Audio Output to “PCM” format.
HDMI (ARC) OPERATION
A TV with HDMI ARC port can be connected to this unit, and you can listen to the sound from it though the unit’s speakers.
- Plug one end of an HDMI Cable (user supply) into the HDMI ARC in jack on the unit.
- Plug the other end of the HDMI Cable into the HDMI ARC jack on TV.
- Power on the unit as previously explained.
- Press MODE button on the unit or button on Remote Control repeatedly to switch to the HDMI IN mode.
- Power on the connected TV and start playback as usual.
Note
The TV must have the ARC capability, and connected to HDMI ARC jack on the
capable TV.
If there is no audio output (only picture) or noise when your TV is connected
to the unit, please check TV audio setting, and set the Digital Audio Output
to “PCM” format.
