Getting Started

To start using your Square Stand Mount, follow these steps:

Check that all items are included in the box.
Ensure your compatible iPad is ready for setup.

Setting Up Square Stand Mount

Angled Wall Mount

Pick a spot on your wall where you want to install the mount.
Position the angled bracket on the wall and mark the screw hole positions.
Drill the marked holes using the included drywall drill bit.
Screw the angled bracket into the wall, ensuring it is level.
Plug the hub into the Square Stand Mount by threading the USB-C cable through the pass-through hole.
Secure Square Stand Mount into the bracket by tightening the center mounting screw.

HOW DO YOU WANT TO SET UP SQUARE STAND MOUNT

There are four different ways you can set up Square Stand Mount. Read below to pick which best fits your business needs.

ANGLED WALL MOUNT

What you need from the box

Drywall drill bit

What you need that’s not in the box

Drill
Stud finder
Pencil
PH2 Phillips screwdriver
PH1 Phillips screwdriver (optional)

Pick a spot on your wall
Hold up Square Stand Mount against the wall to find your preferred height. Avoid placing over studs.
Position the angled bracket
Level the bracket on the wall, then mark the position of the screw holes with a pencil.
Drill the holes you just marked
For drywall installation, use the included drywall drill bit.
Screw the angled bracket into the wall
Insert the wall anchors into the drill holes. Position the angled bracket, then insert the wall screws into the front and screw in, making sure the bracket is level as you fully tighten.
Plug the hub in to Square Stand Mount
Starting from the bottom of the bracket, thread the hub’s USB-C cable through the pass-through hole and into the connector on the back of the Square Stand Mount.
Place Square Stand Mount into the bracket
Tighten the center mounting screw until you cannot see any of the red sidewall on the screw. Make sure it is secure and does not wiggle.
Plug in Square Stand Mount
Plug the power adapter’s USB-C cable into the hub, then plug one end of the power adapter cable into the power adapter and the other into an outlet. For more details, see page 14.
Slide your iPad in and secure it
Dock your iPad to the connector and make sure the security latch clicks. Optional: To further secure your iPad, use a small Phillips screwdriver to attach the security screw to the side of the Square Stand Mount.

Additional installation options: For installation on other surfaces, like concrete or brick, or to hide cords when installing, go to square.com/go/stand-mount-setup.
Removing your iPad from Square Stand Mount: If you used the optional security screw, first unscrew it. You can then take your iPad out by pulling out then pushing down on the raised security latch located next to the iPad’s camera. Once unlatched, carefully slide the iPad out to the left.

Plug the hub into
Square Stand Mount Press the hub’s USB-C cable into the cable channel on the back of Square Stand Mount. Check that there is no interference between the cable and the mount screw.
Place the Square Stand Mount into the bracket
Tighten the center mounting screw until you cannot see any of the red sidewall on the screw. Make sure it is secure and does not wiggle.

Pick a spot on your counter
With the angled bracket facing you as shown, pass the hub’s USB-C cable through the hole.
Plug the hub into Square Stand Mount
Make sure the hub’s USB-C cable is firmly pushed in.
Place Square Stand Mount into the bracket
Tighten the center mounting screw until you cannot see any of the red sidewall on the screw. Make sure it is secure and does not wiggle.
Plug in Square Stand Mount
Plug the power adapter’s USB-C cable into the hub, then plug one end of the power adapter cable into the power adapter and the other into an outlet. For more details,
Slide your iPad in
Dock your iPad to the connector and make sure the security latch clicks.
Optional: secure your iPad
Using a small Phillips screwdriver, attach the security screw to the side of Square Stand Mount to further secure your iPad.

VESA MOUNT

Connect Square Stand Mount to a third-party VESA system. Before you begin setting up, make sure you have the installation guide that came with the VESA mount you are using. Note: Square Stand Mount is only compatible with 100mm x 100mm VESA plates. Go to square.com/go/VESA to learn more.

Plug the hub in to Square Stand Mount
Decide which side you want the hub’s USB-C cable to exit, then slot it into the cable channel, or if the VESA mount allows, run the cable through the VESA mount.
Screw Square Stand Mount onto the VESA plate
Align the 100mm x 100mm VESA plate screw holes with the threads on the back of the Square Stand Mount and screw on.
Plug in Square Stand Mount
Plug the power adapter’s USB-C cable into the hub, then plug one end of the power adapter cable into the power adapter and the other into an outlet. For more details,
Slide your iPad in and secure it
Dock your iPad to the connector and make sure the security latch clicks.
Optional: secure your iPad
Using a small Phillips screwdriver, attach a security screw to the side of the Square Stand Mount to further secure your iPad.

POWER UP AND CONNECT ACCESSORIES

To power Square Stand Mount, plug the power adapter’s USB-C cable into the hub, then plug one end of the power adapter cable into the power adapter and the other into an outlet. Now you are also ready to connect a barcode scanner, receipt printer, cash drawer, or other USB-A accessories to Square Stand Mount via the USB hub. Some accessories may need additional setup by going to Settings > Hardware in the Square app. For a complete list of compatible accessories, including Ethernet and Bluetooth-enabled printers and scanners,
visit square.com/stand-accessories.

Note: When Square Stand Mount is not plugged into a power outlet, it runs on your iPad’s battery and you can still accept every payment. In this mode, you won’t be able to use accessories connected via the hub.
