OWNER’S GUIDE

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

For Household Use Only

WHEN USING YOUR SHARK® STEAM MOP, BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR SHARK® STEAM MOP.

WARNING: DANGER OF SCALDING. PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN USING THE STEAM MOP. THE STEAM EMITTED FROM THE STEAM MOP IS VERY HOT.
WARNING: KEEP STEAM MOP AWAY FROM CHILDREN.

POLARIZED PLUG:
This Steam Mop has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

WARNING:

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY:

1. CAUTION: When in use, never turn the Steam Mop over or on its side. Never direct steam towards people, animals or plants.
2. Always unplug and allow the Steam Mop to cool before attaching or removing accessories.

3. Use the Steam Mop only for its intended use.
4. DO NOT use for space heating purposes.
5. DO NOT use outdoors.
6. DO NOT leave the Steam Mop unattended when plugged in. Always unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet when not in use and before servicing.
7. DO NOT allow the appliance to be used by children. Close attention is necessary when used near children, pets or plants.
8. Use only as described in this manual.
9. Use only manufacturer’s recommended accessories.
10. DO NOT use with damaged cord or plug. If the Steam Mop is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to SharkNinja Operating LLC for examination and repair. Incorrect re-assembly or repair can cause a risk of electrical shock or injury to persons when the appliance is used.
11. To protect against a risk of electric shock, DO NOT immerse the Steam Mop into water or any other liquids.
12. DO NOT handle plug or Steam Mop with wet hands or operate the Steam Mop without shoes.

13. DO NOT pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run the Steam Mop over the cord. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
14. DO NOT unplug by pulling on power cord. To unplug, grasp the plug not the power cord. Do not use extension cords or outlets with inadequate current- carrying capacity.
15. DO NOT put any objects into the Steam Nozzle openings. Do not use if the steam nozzle is blocked.
16. DO NOT put hands or feet under the Steam Mop—it gets very hot.
17. When mopping, use ONLY on flat, horizontal surfaces. Do not use on walls, counters or windows.
18. DO NOT use on leather, wax polished furniture or floors, synthetic fabrics, velvet or other delicate, steam sensitive materials.
19. DO NOT use on electronics such as televisions, video game consoles and cable boxes.
20. DO NOT add cleaning solutions, vinegar, scented perfumes, oils or any other chemicals to the water used in this appliance as this may damage the unit or make it unsafe for use. If you live in a hard water area, we recommend using distilled water in your steam mop.
21. Never leave any Pocket Pad in one spot while using or storing for any period of time, as this may damage your surfaces.

22. Carefully remove the Pocket Pad after you have unplugged and allowed the Steam Mop to cool.
23. When cleaning the Steam Mop, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet and clean with a dry or damp cloth. Do not pour water or use alcohol, benzene or paint thinner on the Steam Mop.

24. Extreme caution should be exercised when using the Steam Mop to clean stairs.
25. Never use Steam Mop without the Pocket Pad attached.
26. Keep your work area well lit.
27. Store Steam Mop indoors in a cool, dry place.
28. To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another appliance on the same socket
(circuit) as the steam cleaner.
29. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, an extension cord rated a minimum of 15 ampere, 14 gage cord should be used. Cords rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.
30. To avoid scalding injuries, always unplug and allow the Steam Mop to cool before removing or changing Mop Heads, Accessories or Cleaning Pads.

WARNING: Your Steam Mop is designed to clean hard floor surfaces that will withstand high heat. Do not use on unsealed wood or unglazed ceramic floors. On surfaces that have been treated with wax or some no wax floors, the sheen may be removed by the heat and steam action. It is always recommended to test an isolated area of the surface to be cleaned before proceeding. We also recommend that you check the use and care instructions from the floor manufacturer.

POCKET PAD CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Care
Before washing, close the hook-and-loop fasteners so they won’t snag on the Pocket Pads. Machine wash the Pocket Pads separately with warm water using liquid detergent. NEVER USE BLEACH, POWDERED DETERGENT, OR FABRIC SOFTENERS as they may damage or leave a coating on the Pocket Pads that will reduce their cleaning performance and absorbancy. Pocket Pads should be line-dried or tumble-dried on a low setting, as this will extend the life of the microfiber fabric. (fig. 20)

Loose fibers can indicate wearing of the microfiber fabric. Do not pull the loose fibers as this can cause the weave to come undone. Simply cut the loose fibers with scissors. (fig. 21)

Replacement
For best cleaning results, we recommend replacing your Pocket Pads every 3 to 4 months following normal use. As with any fabric, dirt particles, grease, friction, and repeated washing can cause the fibers to break down, and you may notice an increase in the effort needed to push or pull the Steam Mop.

You can purchase replacement Pocket Pads and Accessories by visiting www.sharkclean.com or calling 1-800-798-7398

PROBLEM POSSIBLE REASONS & SOLUTIONS
The Shark® Lift-Away® Pro Steam Pocket® Mop will not turn-on. Your steam mop

should be securely plugged into an electrical outlet. Check your fuse or breaker.
If your unit still does not work, call Customer Care at 1.800.798.7398.
The unit will not make steam.| The Steam Mop should be securely plugged into an electrical outlet. Check your fuse or circuit breaker or try a different outlet.
Make sure the Water Tank is full, the unit is plugged in, and the light around the Steam Control Button is solid.
If the light around the Steam Control Button is not lit, try a different electrical outlet.
If the light around the Steam Control Button is blinking, press the Steam Control Button to select a Steam Setting.
If the light around the Steam Control Button is solid, wait 30 seconds for the unit to warm up.
If after following the above steps the Steam Mop still does not produce any steam, contact Customer Service at 1-800-798-7398 or at
[email protected].
The Shark® Lift-Away® Pro Steam Pocket® Mop leaves water on the floor.| Check to see if your cleaning pad is too wet. We recommend you unplug the steam mop and change the cleaning pad.
Make sure the cleaning pad is attached correctly
Cannot activate steam / flashing blue light remains on.| If you have already plugged in your unit, unplug and try a different outlet. This may reset the standby mode.
Add water to the tank and select steam setting by pressing the STEAM CONTROL button.
If your unit still does not work, call Customer Care at 1.800.798.7398.
The Shark® Lift-Away® Pro Steam Pocket® Mop left a white spot on the floor.| Do not leave your steam mop on the floor with a damp or wet cleaning pad. If you’re using tap water, we recommend switching to distilled water. Make sure the cap is securely on the water tank.
Floors are cloudy, streaky or spotty after steaming.| The Pocket Pad might be dirty. If it is, flip it over to the clean side or change it entirely. If you washed the Pocket Pad with powdered detergent, then it could be damaged and require replacement.
This could also be an indication of soap or grease residue that has accumulated on the floor. As our Steam Mops use only a small amount of water, it may not be enough to rinse off the accumulation of residue that the steam is bringing to the surface. We suggest rinsing the floor with nothing but water, letting it dry, and then steam mopping again with a clean Pocket Pad. One or more rinses will generally remove the residue.
A more stubborn case may require you to rinse the floor with a mix of one part vinegar and two parts water (but DO NOT put vinegar or any other cleaner into the Steam Mop’s Water Tank).
Please consult your flooring manufacturer’s care and maintenance instructions before applying any cleaning products or solutions including vinegar.
The nozzle leaves water drops on the garment or upholster.| The garment steam bonnet or the upholstery bonnet must be in place at all times during usage. The steamer bonnet prevents water drops from being left on the garment or the upholstery and removes impurities from your water.
If the steamer bonnet is too wet or the frame has condensation, let the unit cool for 30 minutes, remove the steamer bonnet and let it dry out before using again, or replace with a new steamer bonnet.

FAQs

Can I use or add a cleaning solution to the water tank or apply to the pads?

Shark Steam Mops are designed to deliver effective, chemical-free cleaning and sanitization with just ordinary tap water. Using any type of cleaning solution, perfumed oils or other chemical cleaner with your steam mop is not recommended. These products can have damaging affects to your steam mop and defeat the benefit of chemical-free cleaning.

Do not use anything other than water in the unit. Shark recommends using distilled water in your steam mop. Shark’s water filtration bottle is also recommended to extend your mop’s life and reduce the potential build-up of hard water residue in the unit which may contribute to steam performance issues.

Can I use the steam mop on all floor surfaces?

The steam mop is designed for use on most hard floor surfaces. We recommend that you first test an isolated area of the floor surface to be cleaned as well as review the use and care instructions from your floor manufacturer.

Surfaces/Material where the steam mop should not be used:
1. Wax polished furniture or floors.
2. Unsealed or unglazed ceramic floors, unsealed wooden and wax floors and some no wax floors.
3. In cases of surfaces treated with wax and some no-wax floors, the sheen may be removed by heat or steam action of the unit. Test an isolated are of flooring first to see if sheen is affected.

How should I clean the pads?

Wash the pads with liquid detergent (not powder), as powder can leave a residue behind on the pad. Avoid use of bleach and fabric softeners when washing pads. Line dry or dry on a low dryer setting. For best pad performance, we recommend replacing pads every 2-3 months if pads are used and washed 3 or more times/week

How do I turn on the Pro Steam Pocket?

Once you have put water in the tank, plug the power cord into a 120 volt electrical outlet. The ON/STANDBY button will flash blue. Press the ON/STANDBY Button until the desired steam setting is selected. Press the ON/STANDBY once to select the Dust Steam Setting. Press twice to select the Mop Steam Setting and press the button three times to select the Scrub Steam Setting

How long will it take my steam mop to heat up?

The steam mop is ready to clean in about 30 seconds.

What is variable steam and how should it be used to achieve the best results?

The Shark Pro Steam Pocket Mop has three unique steam settings so you can use the perfect amount of steam for the cleaning task at hand.

Setting: Dust
Ideal for these surfaces: Laminate, Bamboo, Hardwood and Marble
Recommended usage: Light cleaning & dusting, Loosen & lift dirt, Sanitize floors

Setting: Mop
Ideal for these surfaces: Hardwood, Marble, Tile and Stone
Recommended usage: Everyday cleaning, Remove spots and routine messes, Moderate cleaning of heavily trafficked areas and Sanitize floors.

Setting: Scrub
Ideal for these surfaces: Hardwood (not recommended for continuous cleaning), Tile, Stone, Linoleum and Carpet (with the glider attachment)
Recommended usage: Tough cleaning and removal of stuck-on messes and stains, Deep cleaning of heavily trafficked areas, Cut through heavy dirt and grime, Sanitize floors and Freshen area rugs and carpets.

Can I use detergent on the cleaning area?

No, The steam mop is designed to provide effective, chemical free cleaning without the use of cleaners or detergents

Why should the pads be washed prior to use?

It is important to wash the pads in order to remove any loose lint or fibers from the pad that might have occurred in packaging or in transport. Pads should be washed with liquid detergent (not powder), as powder can leave a residue behind. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners as well. Dry pads on a low dryer setting or line dry.

How long will the pads last?

Frequency of use, the type of cleaning (heavy/light) and how often the pads are washed and dried all determine the life of the pads and when new pads are required.

Under normal household conditions, using the mop for routine cleaning a few times per week, we recommend new pads every 2-3 months.

What is the best use for Steam Concentrator Nozzle?

The Steam Concentrator Nozzle will help loosen debris from crevices and tight areas that are tough to clean. For best results, use the Scrub Steam Setting and spray steam directly onto dirty area. Once the Nozzle is cool, remove and attach the Mop Head to wipe clean the loosened debris. Alternatively, you may use cloth or paper towels to wipe the area.
