Garden Hose Box

Translation of the original instructions.
Intended use:
For safety reasons, children and young people under the age of 16, as well as people not familiar with these operating instructions, may not use this product.
Persons with reduced physical or mental capabilities may only use this product when supervised or instructed by an authorised person. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the product. Never operate the product when you are tired, ill or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medicine.
The Hose Box is only suitable for outdoor use.

SAFETY

IMPORTANT!
Read the operator’s manual carefully before use and keep for future reference.
Symbols on the product:

CAUTION!
→ Read the Operating Instructions before initial operation.
DANGER!
→ Physical injury through prestressed springs.
The Hose Box may not be opened.
When placing the hose box on the holder, make sure that you stand securely and carry the load as close as possible to your body.
Keep your back straight. Do not lift with your upper body bent forward or with a hollow back.
Keep children away from the product.
Keep any third parties away from the product while it is in use.
Choose a mounting location that prevents water from entering the building in the event of a leak.
Depressurise the hose when not in use.
We recommend a mounting location that is protected against direct sunlight so that the unit and hose do not overheat.

DANGER! Risk of suffocation!
Small parts can be easily swallowed. There is also a risk that the polybag can suffocate toddlers. Keep toddlers away when you assemble the product.
Risk of scalding if hose is exposed to direct sunlight for a long period.
For safety reasons, the hose may only be replaced by GARDENA Service.
Before each use, check that the hose box is securely fixed in the ground, as the ground spike can become loose over time.

ASSEMBLY

To assemble the garden hose box [ Fig. (1) – (5) ]:

DANGER! Electric shock!
No power lines may be drilled into.
→ Make sure that there are no electric cables or other lines in the ground

CAUTION!
The ground for the spike should not be too soft or too hard.

  1. Insert the 3 screws from the outside into the half-shell without thread.
  2. Assemble the two half-shells to the hose box.
  3. Tighten the 3 screws.
  4. Insert the long, straight end of the insertion rod crosswise into the earth spike so that the insertion rod is inserted centrally in the earth spike.
  5. Screw in the earth spike vertically.
  6. Insert the short end of the insertion rod into the earth spike.
  7. Screw in the earth spike with the long end of the insertion rod until the lower edge of the plastic head touches the surface of the ground. The hand must not touch the ground.
  8. Make sure that the earth spike is stable and straight in the ground.
  9. Insert the long, straight end of the insertion rod into the earth spike.
  10. Place the metal sleeve on the earth spike with the screw holes facing down.
  11. Screw the metal sleeve tight with the 2 screws.
  12. Place the hose box onto the earth spike using both hands.
  13. Connect the connecting hose to a water tap.

Note : If the hose box is removed, the earth spike can be protected with the cover.

OPERATION

Do not use a damaged product.
→ Check the product for damage before rolling up and unwinding.
Unwind:
Pull out the hose to the desired length.
The hose can be locked at intervals of approximately 25 – 45 cm.
Roll up:
With the nozzle, return to the Hose Box and release the lock through a short tug on the hose.
In case of hose blockage, pull the hose out completely and let it retract again.
Through a special braking technique, the hose rolls up securely and evenly on its own. The locking mechanism clicks during unwinding and roll-up.

STORAGE

To put into storage:
The product must be stored away from children.
→ Empty the hose completely before storing the hose box.
The Garden Hose Box can remain outside in a depressurized state throughout the winter months.
Disposal:
→Empty the hose completely before disposing of the hose box.
