Translation of the original instructions.

This product may be used under supervision, or if instruction regarding the safe use of the product has been provided and the resulting dangers have been understood, by children aged 8 and above, as well as by persons with physical, sensory or mental disabilities or a lack of experience and knowledge. Children must not be allowed to play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision. The use of this product by young people under the age of 16 is not recommended.

Intended use:
The GARDENA Holiday Irrigation Set/Holiday Irrigation Set with Water Reservoir is intended for fully automatic irrigation of up to 36 indoor plants, without the need of a water supply.
The pump is completely submersible (watertight encapsulation) and is submerged in the water (to a max. depth of see 7. TECHNICAL DATA).
The product is not intended for continuous operation. DANGER! The pump should not be used for the delivery of salt water, muddy water, corrosive, easily inflammable or explosive liquids (e.g. petrol, paraffin, thinners), oil, heating oil or foodstuffs.

General safety warnings
Electrical safety
DANGER! Electric shock!
Risk of injury due to electric shock. The product must be supplied through a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
Safe operating practices
The water temperature should not exceed 35 °C.
The pump must not be used when people are in the water.
Leaking lubricants can contaminate the pumped liquid.
Circuit breakers
Dry-running protection: If no water is pumped (undercurrent) the pump switches off automatically.
→ Refill the water reservoir with water. Anti-lock protection: If the motor blocks (overcurrent), the pump switches off automatically.
→ Contact the GARDENA Service.

Electrical safety

DANGER! Cardiac arrest!
This product makes an electromagnetic field while it operates. This field may under some conditions interfere with active or passive medical implants.
To decrease the risk of conditions that can possibly injure or kill, we recommend persons with medical implants to speak with their physician and the medical implant manufacturer before you operate the product.

DANGER! Electric shock!
Risk of injury due to electric shock if the pump is connected directly to the mains.
→ Connect the pump only via the supplied plug-in power supply with timer.
Check the plug-in power supply housing for damages before usage. Don’t use a damaged plug-in power supply.
Please regularly check the connecting line.
Before using, always subject the pump to a visual inspection.
A pump which is damaged should not be used. In the event of damage, have the pump checked by GARDENA Service.
Damaged connecting cables to the pump can only be replaced by GARDENA Service.
Disconnect the plug-in power supply from the outlet socket for all work on the Holiday Irrigation.

The pump may only be operated with 14-V protected low-voltage in combination with the GARDENA plug-in power supply for pump.
Protect from rain. Use the plug-in power supply only in a rain-protected area.

Personal safety

DANGER! Risk of suffocation!
Small parts can be easily swallowed. There is also a risk that the polybag can suffocate toddlers. Keep toddlers away when you assemble the product.

Only use Original GARDENA parts, as the function of the system cannot otherwise be guaranteed.
Do not let the pump run dry.
Observe the minimum water level in accordance with the technical Data given for the pump.
Do not use the product while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while you operate the product may result in serious personal injury.
Do not open the pump further than delivery status (only exception: the foot).

INSTALLATION

→ Disconnect the product from the mains before you install the product.

– Drip distributor (J):
There are 3 drip distributors (J) with different daily application rates.
– Light grey (a):
For plants with low water requirements: 15 ml/day
– Medium grey (b):
For plants with average water requirements: 30 ml/day
– Dark grey (c):
For plants with high water requirements: 60 ml/day If a plant has a water requirement of over 60 ml per day, you will need to use more than one drip pipe for the plant.

Preparation:

  1. Group your plants in 3 groups according to their water requirements.
  2. Use planters or saucers so that any excess water will be collected.
  3. Allocate the individual drip distributors to the groups.
  4. Place the water reservoir close to the plants and a power supply.

Each drip distributor must be individually connected to the pump.

To calculate the water quantity:
[Quantity of plants x daily water requirements in ml (15, 30 and/or 60) ] x days

CAUTION!
The plants must be positioned above the water level of the water reservoir to prevent the water of the reservoir from flowing out via the supply pipes.

OPERATION

→ Disconnect the product from the mains before you fill the water reservoir.

**To start the irrigation [Fig. (5)]:

CAUTION!
Damage to the pump if it runs dry.
→ Make sure that the water reservoir is always sufficiently filled with water.

  1. Fill the water reservoir (A) with the previously calculated amount of water (make sure that the water reservoir (A) stands in a secure position).
  2. Place the pump in the water reservoir (A) filled with water (make sure that the pump is level with the bottom of the water reservoir (A)).
  3. Connect the pump (B) to the power adapter (C).
  4. Plug the power adapter (C) into an electrical socket. The irrigation will start for 1 minute and the LED will illuminate green.
  5. During the first irrigation, check all connections for leaks.
    The irrigation will be repeated daily at the same time as the power adapter was plugged in.

MAINTENANCE

→  Disconnect the product from the mains before you maintain the product.

To clean the pump:

Risk of injury and risk of damage to the product.
→ Do not clean the product with a water jet (in particular high-pressure water jet).
→ Do not clean with chemicals including petrol or solvents. Some can destroy critical plastic parts.
→ Clean the pump with a damp cloth.

To clean the filter [Fig. (M)]:

In order to ensure continuous trouble-free operation, the filter should be cleaned at regular intervals.

  1. Push in the two locks and pull off the foot downwards.
  2. Clean the filter and the foot under running water.
  3. Reassemble all parts in reverse order. Make sure that the two locks are correctly engaged.
    The pump must not be operated without the filter.

Cleaning the Holiday Irrigation System:
Ensure that the Holiday Irrigation System’s surface and contacts are always clean and dry before connecting the Holiday Irrigation System.
Do not use running water.
→ Clean the contacts and the plastic parts with a soft and dry cloth.

STORAGE

To put into storage:
The product must be stored away from children.

  1. Unplug the Holiday Irrigation System.
  2. Clean the pump and the Holiday Irrigation System (see 4. MAINTENANCE).
  3. Store the pump and the Holiday Irrigation System in a dry, enclosed space which is free of frost.

Disposal: (in accordance with RL2012/19/EC)
The product must not be disposed of to normal household waste. It must be disposed of in line with local environmental regulations.
IMPORTANT!
Dispose of the product through or via your municipal recycling collection centre.

TROUBLESHOOTING

→ Disconnect the product from the mains before you troubleshoot the product.

NOTE: For any other malfunctions please contact the GARDENA service department.
Repairs must only be done by GARDENA service departments or specialist dealers approved by GARDENA.
