product

Thank you for purchasing this product. Before using the product, read through the user manual to ensure that you will use the product correctly. Please keep this manual for future reference.

Features

  • Equipped with independent line-cardioid and figure-of-eight elements developed in-house to provide high sensitivity. Featuring three modes—MS direct, LR wide and LR narrow—this microphone can be used for a variety of surround recording applications, such as recording in environments with high levels of ambient noise, as a stereo base for recording indoor/ outdoor sporting events, or for capturing ambient sounds.
  • The innovatively designed sound tube and transformer less circuitry ensure stable phase sensitivity and a wide dynamic range.
  • Lightweight and sturdy aluminum housing assembly is perfect for use in harsh operating environments, such as can be encountered with boom operation.
  • 80 Hz low-frequency roll-off switch effectively reduces wind noise.
  • Includes a windscreen to filter out wind noise.

Safety precaution

Although this product was designed to be used safely, failing to use it correctly may result in an accident. To ensure safety, observe all warnings and cautions while using the product.

Cautions for the product

  • Do not subject the product to strong impact to avoid malfunction.
  • Do not disassemble, modify or attempt to repair the product.
  • Do not handle the product with wet hands to avoid electric shock or injury.
  • Do not store the product under direct sunlight, near heating devices or in a hot, humid or dusty place.
  • Do not swing the microphone by holding the cable or pull on the cable forcefully.
  • Do not wind the cable around racks or furniture and prevent it from catching onto other objects.

Connection procedure

  1. To ensure L and R stereo settings are performed properly, set up the microphone with the “UP” marking on top and the switch on bottom.
  2. Connect the output terminals of the microphone to the 5-pin side of the included cable, and connect the split side of the cable (3 pins each) to a device that has a microphone input (balanced input) compatible with a phantom power supply.
    • The output connector is an XLR-M type with polarity as shown in the figures below.
  3. When attaching to devices such as video cameras, install the included O-rings to the microphone to ensure a tight fit between the microphone holder and microphone.
    • Install both O-rings to the location where the microphone attaches to the holder.
