Exhaust Blank Off Plate
FAD-BE5 Installations
If an exhaust blank plate is already in place, remove the existing blank off
plate through return or through right side intake opening and discard (see
Figure 4). Figure 5 shows exhaust after blank off plate is removed. Barometric
exhaust will be installed in same location.
FIGURE 5
Exhaust After Blank Off Plate is Removed
FAD-NE5 Installations: Skip to instructions following Figure 6.
Install barometric exhaust through return or through right side intake opening. Then install the exhaust partition (from the top of the exhaust to the grille) to divide the return opening. The plate should come out of the return opening and be flush with the grille (see Figure 6).

Screw must be removed from FAD blade adjustment bracket before installation to ensure the correct fit (see Figure 7).
FIGURE 7
Remove FAD Blade Adjusting Screw
Install FAD on right side of unit. After installation, remove two (2) screws fastening the blade (see Figure 8).
FIGURE 8
Remove Blade Screws
Re-install screw in FAD blade adjustment bracket (see Figure 9).
The amount of outside fresh air brought into the structure is dependent on the blade stop pin location (Figure 9) and atmospheric pressure in the conditioned space.
Refer to graphs 1-10 (beginning on page 5) for ventilation air CFM per blade pin setting with and without exhaust.
FIGURE 9
Re-Install Blade Adjustment Bracket Screw
After installation of the FAD components, re-install the right side grille and restore power to the unit.
