Product
Description
The Intelbras Optical Termination Box (OTB) is used as the termination point
of the backbone cable to connect with the drop cable to the network of FFTX
communication systems. In the OTB, fiber splicing, splitting and distribution
can be done, providing adequate protection and accommodation for FTTX network
construction. With its completely closed structure made of PC+ABS, the
Intelbras OTB provides protection against humidity, dust, aging, and water,
with an IP 55 ingress protection rating.

Installation
XFCT box mounting
Splitter arrangement (applies only to model XFCT 1600)
- Open the box, remove the OTB installation accessory kit, and the protective plastics, and fit the adapters1 into the slots (item 6):
- On the rear face of the tray, fit the splitter2 into the PLC splitter holder (item 14) and arrange a fiber loop at the bottom of the tray rear face:
- After settling in the bottom of the tray, pass the splitter connectors through the passage, transferring them to the front face of the tray, as shown in the image below:
- If necessary, place the rest of the splitter fibers in the front of the tray, place the plastic cover and fit the splitter connectors to the adapters, previously installed:
Main Cable Arrangement
- Remove the protective cap from the cable entry and insert the optical cable:
- For a better fixation of the cable inside the box it is necessary to increase the diameter of the cable with the help of an insulating tape or similar.
- Tighten the protective cap on the cable:
- If uncut cable is required, the optical cable’s input part must be replaced. To do this, detach the optical cable entry piece with the help of a pair of pliers, as shown in the first picture below. Then fit the uncut cable entry piece (item F in the accessory list) and tighten it with the supplied screw (item G in the accessory list):
- Tighten the metal clamp inside the box:
- Tighten the anti-torsion lock and cut the rest of the support element:
- Strip the loose tube that will be used and insert the fibers into the conduction hose. Attach the hose to the OTB as shown in the picture:
- After installing the hose, put a plastic tie to secure it to the OTB:
- Strip the fiber that will be used, fuse it to the fiber in the splitter entrance, and then place the core in the fixing grooves:
- Use the core protector that is supplied with the box to ensure that the core is properly seated in the fixing grooves. Place the remaining fibers on top of the back side of the tray and place the protective cover on:
Connecting the Drop cable to the XFCT box
- Remove a rubber cap intended for the Drop cable outlet and insert the Drop cable into the port, crossing the rubber seal:
- Assemble the field connector and plug it into an OTB adapter:
- Arrange the drop cable in the tray, fixing it with the plastic tie if necessary:
- Seal properly by positioning the rubber correctly in the box.
Wall Installation
- Drill four holes in the wall according to the measurements presented in item 2.2.-Dimensions in this guide.
- Position the box so that the holes match and use the screws to secure it.
Installation on a pole
- Using two stainless steel straps, attach the box to the post using the pass-through slots located on the back of the box, as shown in the figure below:
