IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this
product is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons
including the following:
WARNING Use caution when working in the vicinity of powerful radiation
sources.
WARNING Persons with electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers) should
avoid powerful radiation sources.
WARNING Carefully read the operating instructions for equipment generating or
conducting electromagnetic energy that will be measured.
WARNING Do not operate near combustible gases or in damp environments.
- This product must be used by trained users only.
- Do not use if the product appears damaged or if it is not working properly. If in doubt, replace the product.
- Do not operate the product after a low battery warning was triggered. Replace the battery immediately.
- Field strength measurement devices can underrate pulsed signals, particularly with radar signals, in which case significant measurement errors can result.
- Be aware that the field strength in the near vicinity of radiators increases proportionally to the inverse cube of the distance. This means that enormous field strengths can result in the immediate vicinity of small radiation sources (e.g. leaks in wave guides or inductive ovens).
- All field strength measuring devices have a limited specified frequency range. Fields with spectral components outside of this frequency range are generally incorrectly evaluated and tend to be underrated. Before using field strength measuring devices be certain that all field components to be measured lie in the specified frequency range of the measuring device.
- The accuracy and function of the product may be adversely affected if the specified limits are exceeded or if the product is handled improperly.
- Do not attempt repairs. There are no user serviceable parts.
Battery Warnings
- Exhausted batteries should be immediately removed from product and properly disposed.
- Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
- Remove batteries from product if it is not to be used for an extended period of time.
- If the battery leaks avoid contact with skin and eyes. Rinse affected areas immediately with plenty of clean water, then consult a doctor.
This manual contains important safety and operating instructions for power units.

Intended Use
- The product measures electromagnetic fields of extremely low frequency (ELF) of 30 to 300 Hz.
- The product measures the electromagnetic field radiation levels that are produced by electric transmission equipment, power lines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, refrigerators, computer monitors, video/audio devices and similar products.
- The product is suitable for use in indoor dry areas only.
- The product was designed for use in an environment of pollution degree 2.
- No liability will be accepted for damages resulting from improper use or non-compliance with these instructions.
Operation
Switching the product on/off
Press the button (D) to switch the product on. Press and hold the button (D)
to switch the product off.
Taking the measurement
- With the product in hand, move slowly towards to the object under measurement until it is physically touched.
- Notice how the field intensity increases as you move closer to the object.
- Position the EMF sensor (G) at different angles toward the object under measurement and observe the EMF signals.
If the product detects electromagnetic field radiation beyond its rated range, “OL” is shown on the display.
Switching the alarm on/off
Press the button (D) to turn the alarm function on or off. The alarm indicator
shown on the display changes accordingly.
Switching the backlight on/off
Press and hold the /MODE button (C) to switch the backlight on or off.
Switching the measurement mode
Press and hold the TEMP/UNIT button (F) to switch between electromagnetic
and temperature measuring mode.
Switching the electromagnetic unit
While in electromagnetic measuring mode, press the TEMP/ UNIT button (F)
to switch between milli-Gauss (mG) and micro Tesla ( μT ). The default
unit is μT.
Switching the temperature unit
While in temperature mode, press the TEMP/UNIT button (F) to switch
between °C and °F. The default unit is °C.
Switching MAX/MIN/HOLD mode
While in electromagnetic measuring mode, press the /MODE button (C) to
switch between “HOLD”, “MAX” and “MIN” mode.
HOLD | use to freeze/unfreeze a measurement on the display |
---|---|
MIN | use to display minimum measurement taken |
MAX | use to display maximum measurement taken |
In temperature mode, the /MODE button (C) is disabled.
Auto power-off (APO)
To conserve battery life, the product automatically switches off after
approximately 10 minutes of inactivity.

Disposal
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic goods on the environment, by increasing re-use and recycling and by reducing the amount of WEEE going to landfill. The symbol on this product or its packaging signifies that this product must be disposed separately from ordinary household wastes at its end of life. Be aware that this is your responsibility to dispose of electronic equipment at recycling centers in order to conserve natural resources. Each country should have its collection centers for electrical and electronic equipment recycling. For information about your recycling drop off area, please contact your related electrical and electronic equipment waste management authority, your local city office, or your household waste disposal service.
