Doorbell Mounting

  • If you don’t have a wired doorbell, or you don’t want to install this doorbell in your existing doorbell location, please refer to the installation steps of “Battery Powered”.
  • If you want to install this doorbell at an existing doorbell location, please refer to the installation steps of “Using the Existing Doorbell Wires to Power the Doorbell”. (Note: Doorbell required voltage: 8-24V AC).

Select the doorbell mounting spot
Place the doorbell where you want to install it and view the live image via the “Little’ll smart” App in order to find the best mounting spot for the doorbell.

Consider the following factors when installing the doorbell:

  • Check whether existing holes in walls or door frames can be reused.
  • If you want to put the doorbell close to the wall, make sure that the wall side will not appear in the monitoring field of view. Otherwise, infrared mode (night vision mode) and infrared light refracted multiple times may cause a blurred night vision effect.
  • It is recommended that the doorbell be installed at a height of 48″/1.2m from the ground to reduce the monitoring blind area between the ground and the corner.
  • If you want to use the doorbell to monitor your packages, it is recommended to place the package rack 0.5 meters away from the wall. (The package detection function needs to be purchased for an additional fee.)
Consider the following factors when installing the
doorbell:

Method 1: Battery-powered installation steps

Install doorbell bracket
A. If you want to mount the doorbell on a wooden surface (door frame), you don’t need to pre-drill holes. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws to secure the doorbell bracket to the mounting spot.

Please install your new doorbell using the battery-power method or consult an electrician to repair the wiring.

  • If the doorbell rings properly, shut off the power to the existing doorbell on the circuit breaker.
Check whether the existing doorbell wires are working
properly

Note:

  • The voltage required for the doorbell: 8-24V AC, please confirm that the existing doorbell wires meet this requirement; if your existing doorbell has an 8V power supply, use the provided “jumper cable” to connect the two terminals in your existing doorbells’ chime.

Common Problem

Q1: The doorbell doesn’t turn on

  1. Long press the doorbell Power Button for 3 seconds and make sure that the Power Button is pressed.
  2. Use the Type-C USB cable to charge the doorbell, wait about 3 minutes, and check whether the LED indicator on the doorbell is green. If the LED indicator on the doorbell is in solid green, it means that the doorbell battery is insufficient and cannot be turned on, please fully charge the doorbell. If the LED indicator on the doorbell has not been lit, please try to use another Type-C USB cable or charger to charge it; the charger needs to support 5V/1.5A.
  3. Put the doorbell indoors before pressing the power button to turn it on to avoid the doorbell failing to turn on due to the low outdoor temperature. Doorbell operating temperature is -4 °F to 122°F/-20°C to 50°C.

Q2: Doorbell network configuration failed.
If the doorbell indicator flashes blue and the doorbell sounds “Ready to connect” after being turned on, the doorbell can normally configure the network. If the doorbell indicator flashes in other forms, please troubleshoot the doorbell as follows:

  1. Restore factory settings for the doorbell. (Reset method: long press the Power Button for 5 seconds when powered on).
  2. Unplug the USB charging cable, the indicator will flash green when the doorbell is charging.
  3. Check whether the router password is correct. (Wi-Fi password, not APP account password).
  4. Check whether the Wi-Fi signal of your router is 2.4 GHz. If your router is set up to share a Wi-Fi account for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, please configure 2.4GHz and 5GHz network accounts for your router respectively (For how to set up the router, refer to the router manual).
  5. Check that the Wi-Fi connected to the phone is 2.4 GHz.

Q3: Littlelf Smart APP home page shows doorbell offline.

  1. Adjust the position of the router to ensure that the router signal is strong and stable at the location where the doorbell is installed.
  2. Confirm that the Wi-Fi signal from the router can access the network normally.
