IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard

CLEANING AND SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Unplug the unit when it is not in use, or before cleaning.
  • Be careful of hot surfaces when the unit is in use.
  • Set the unit on a heat-resistant surface.
  • Never set the unit on a fragile table or stand.
  • Set the unit at the centre of the table, out of the reach of children.
  • Be certain that no flammable materials are in proximity of the unit.
  • It is important that the unit be constantly watched during use.
  • This product is for domestic use only.
  • If the power cord is damaged, avoid any danger by having it replaced by the manufacturer, customer service, or an equally qualified person.
  • Do not submerge the unit under water.
  • Before cleaning the unit, be sure that the power cord is unplugged.
  • Wait for the unit to cool down completely before cleaning.
  • Do not use an abrasive sponge in order to avoid deterioration or the product.

INSTALLATION

  • Install the grill-stone on the heating element.
  • Never set the grill-stone on a hot heating element.
  • Use only the grill-stone supplied with the unit, and only in the unit that was made for it.
  • Never use aluminium foil or anything else under the toaster cover between the heating element and the reflector.
  • When using the unit in raclette mode, it is advisable to place the cheese in the cooking dish before placing it in the unit.

CONNECTION AND PRE-HEATING

  • After plugging the unit in, place the switch in the “ON” position (the light will come on). Let the unit preheat for a maximum of 20 to 30 minutes. During the first five uses, put a bit of oil on the grill-stone after pre-heating and wipe it with a soft cloth. After pre-heating, the unit is ready for use. Place thin slices of meat, fish, vegetables or fruit on the toaster cover, toaster tray and let them cook to your taste.
  • Do not place frozen food, or anything too heavy on the hot grill plate
  • Do not put any acidic food items, such as vinegar-based products, mustard, pickles, etc. on the grill plate. Do not place any objects on the grill plate.
  • Do not leave the unit on and unused for more than 30 minutes. The grill plate will be too hot for optimal cooking. Use the on/off switch to turn the unit off and unplug it after use.

IMPORTANT OBSERVATIONS

  • The small fissures that are a result of the expansion of the grill plate are natural and do not hinder the smooth running of the unit in any way.
  • After a few uses, the colour of the grill plate usually becomes permanently darker.
  • During the first use, there may be a slight odour, or a bit of smoke.

Be sure to never put the grill plate in a dishwasher, or to submerge it in water.
The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating

MAINTENANCE

  • Let the unit cool completely for at least one hour, without touching the grill plate.
  • During the cooling period, keep the unit out of the reach of children.
  • The body of the unit and the reflector may be cleaned with a sponge, hot water and dishwashing liquid.
  • Do not use a metallic sponge, or a scouring powder.
  • Do not submerge the unit or the electrical cord in water.

Grill-stone cleaning precautions:

  • Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down for about 1 hour before cleaning.
  • Clean the appliance after each use to prevent unpleasant smells or fumes from being emitted when it is used next time.
  • Remove the grill plate, pulling the release catches (L) and wash either by hand in hot water or in a dishwasher.
  • Leave the plate to soak in warm water to remove any residue left during coking
  • Do not use abrasive tools or cleaning agents as these may scratch or damage the nonstick coating
  • Refit the clean plate on the appliance making sure that they are perfectly dry.

Warning: Charcoal or similar combustible fuels must not be used with this appliance.
