Adjustments and Operation

ADJUSTMENT LIFT QUICK RELEASE HANDLE

UNFOLDING AND FOLDING

Your scooter is shipped in the folded and locked position. To unfold, lift the quick release handle on the opposite side. This is an adjustable spring-loaded handle (fig. 2). Turn the spring loaded handle. This will allow you to lift the handlebars to the upright position. Lock the spring-loaded handle into the small round guide hole. Clamp down the quick release handle. Check for a secure lick. Reverse this procedure to fold. There is a tightness control adjustment nut on the spring-loa-ded handle.

HANDLEBARS

Insert grips into handlebar T-Frame as shown in fig. 3. Be sure that snap pins fit into, and lock, the small holes located at the top of the T-Frame. With the hand-lebars in the upright and locked position, and the rider standing on the platform with ONE FOOT on the brake, adjust the handlebar height to just below the rider’s waistline. This is accomplished by loosening the height adjuster (fig. 3) while holding and tightening height adjuster. Be sure height adjuster is tight again.

POWER SWITCH

The scooter is equipped with a power switch located towards the front of the scooter platform (fig. 1).When depressed, the power is on, and the motor and rear wheels cause the scooter to move forward.

HAND OPERATED ACCELERATION

This scooter is equipped with a hand-operated accelerator located on the right hand side of the handlebars. Use four fingers to depress or release, with the other fingers placed on the side of the handlebar, control the magnitude of the acceleration.

HAND-OPERATED MECHANICAL BRAKE

The rear wheel brake is engaged by depressing the brake lever located on the left hand side of the handlebar. This can be performed by using four fingers of the left hand, with the thumb placed on the handlebar itself. This is a friction brake. The harder it is pressed, the more “braking” action will be applied on the rear wheel. This brake has a micro device that will deactivate the power of the motor simultaneously.

RANGE AND SPEED

When fully charged the scooter will cover approximately 15km on level ground, with a 70 kg rider. The top speed is approximately 15km/h with a 70kg rider on level ground and calm winds. Please note that these figures are estimates only, thus they may vary.

STEERING ADJUSTMENT NUTS

You will need to periodically check the steering for looseness. The tightness of the steering can be adjusted by turning the round nut clockwise and locking the hex nut (fig. 1).

CHARGING

When shipped, the batteries are fully charged. Charging the batteries after every use is recommended. For extended battery life, avoid discharging batteries before they are completely recharged. Lastly, follow this one simple use: When the scooter starts to slow down on level ground, it is time to recharge. Try not to delay recharging your scooter.

CHARGING PROCEDURE

With the charger in hand, locate the charge socket under the scooter. Plug the charger into the charge socket. Next, plug the charger into the standard 110/220-Volt electrical outlet (see fig. 4). Charging temperature 10 to 35 C. Do not over-charge. When finished (Red light shows up on the charger), unplug charger from the outlet, and then the scooter. Make sure to replace the cap over the charge socket.

IMPORTANT
To ensure that the batteries are fully charged between uses but not over- charged, please follow the recommended charging times. Battery overcharging does not result in longer running time; however, it merely damages the batteries and reduces their lifespan.

SCOOTER OPERATION

Always wear an approved helmet, eye protection, shoes and for inexperienced riders, we further recommend gloves, knee and elbow pads. Before riding, be sure to have a clear unobstructed level path ahead of the rider. Firmly grab the handlebars with both hands. Place one foot onto the platform. Go ahead and push off with the other leg like riding any other foot scooter. Simultaneously, engage the motor by simply depressing the accelerator, located on the right-hand side of the handlebars. You will feel the power of the motor as you begin to raise the other leg off the ground. To disengage or slow/stop, depress the brake, located on the left-hand side of the handlebar. As you become a more skilled rider and familiarize with your new electric scooter, you will begin to use a combination of brake and power to achieve optimum operation. Be sure to recharge the batteries after using.

REMOVABLE PLATFORM

The platform is removable to gain access to the batteries. Simply remove the four deck screws with a Phillips screwdriver (fig. 5), and lift off the platform. Reverse procedure to replace platform.

USE A PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER TO REMOVE PLATFORM CAREFULLY REMOVE SCREWS, SPRING AND BRAKE PEDAL TO GAIN BATTERY ACCESS.

DRIVE BELT ADJUSTMENT AND REPLACEMENT

Periodic adjustment of the drive belt is highly required. The belt will become loose after hours of operation. Thus, when this happens, the belt will make a popping sound while accelerating. When this occurs, you must tighten the drive belt immediately. To tighten the belt, slightly loosen near rear axle nuts and rotate the belt adjuster discs equally (fig. 6). Tighten axle nuts and recheck belt tension.

DRIVE BELT ALIGNMENT

If you experience either the drive belt coming off the drive gear or the wheel gear and/or rubbing against the scooter frame, there most likely is belt misalig-nment. To re-align, carefully place the scooter upside down on a sturdy surface (table, stool, etc.) and determine the direction of the belt- side movement (fig. 7). You will slightly need to move the rear wheel left or right to re-align. To do this, slightly loosen axle nuts and rotate the belt adjuster discs. Tighten axle nuts and check alignment by engaging power. Recheck alignment after riding; readjust if necessary.

Installation of Seat (For models with seats only)
Important: Press down the seat column into the hole on the main board. Ensure the snap pin pops out and lock the piece properly, and clip firmly. Insert the seat into the upper hole, use a spanner to tighten the locking net, ensure the seat is stable to use. The seat can only be used with this product when the steering is completely locked. This must be checked by an adult prior to use.

Important Battery Information

BATTERY CARE

  1. Store the scooter and charge batteries at a temperature between 10 and 35°C. The higher the temperature, the faster the batteries will self-dischar-ge. Always try to keep your batteries charged at all times. Inspect batteries occasionally and keep the terminals clean and connections tight.
  2.  Handle the batteries and charger with care. Do not overcharge. Refer to the charging times chart.
  3.  We suggest that you purchase additional batteries for extra power require-ments.
