Thank you for your purchase of the ProMaster 8046 Compact V-Mount Battery Kit 95 Wh. The battery works with standard V-Mount / V-Lock cameras and accessories. It has a D-Tap port for both charging and power output. It also has a USB output port for charging compatible devices. A compatible D-Tap charger is included with this kit for your convenience. The battery has an onboard LED fuel level gauge so you can quickly check the remaining capacity with the touch of a button.

Charging:

The charger comes in two parts. Begin by connecting the AC power cord to the transformer using the figure 8 style 2-pin connector found on both parts. Next, pry open the cover over the D-Tap power outlet on the battery. Pay close attention to the + and – symbols on the cover to be sure you understand the polarity of the pins. Now connect the D-Tap end of the charger cable to the port on the battery. Watch the + and – symbols on the end of the charger cable and match those with the port. Be sure not to reverse the polarity! Finally, connect the two-prong wall-AC end of the charging unit to a standard household outlet. Once connected, a red light will illuminate the transformer block portion of the charger. When the battery is 100% charged, the red light will go out.

Use:

The battery is compatible with any V-Mount device which has a maximum continuous draw of 6A or less. The D-Tap port can be used simultaneously with the V-Mount power connection. For USB devices use the USB port on the battery similarly to that of a common power bank. Open the cover and connect your charging cable. This port has a maximum output of 5V at 2.1A. You can use it simultaneously with the other ports on the battery. Keep in mind, the maximum, total, continuous draw is 6A for the battery at one time among all connections. If you exceed the max draw, some devices may not function properly.
To check the battery’s remaining capacity, simply press the small, round button on the side, just below the 4 LED lights. If all 4 lights illuminate the battery is fully charged. 3 lights illuminated indicates approximately 75% remaining capacity, and so on and so forth.

Precautions & Tips for use:

  1. V-Mount batteries come in a variety of capacities and maximum draws. This unit is designed to strike a balance among power, compact size, lightweight, and versatility. At 95Wh it is a perfect travel companion and should be within carry-on regulations for most airline flights. However, be sure to check with your airline before traveling.

  2. The D-Tap port can output up to 14.4V at 90W. Always check the device you intend to connect and use a power cable that restricts the voltage, if necessary, to protect the accessory device.
This is good advice with all D-Tap power sources.

  3. V-Mount batteries are typically rated at 14.8V or 14.4V. These are nominal voltage ratings. The actual voltage of these batteries will fluctuate above (when fully charged) and below these numbers as the battery discharges. This is normal for all li-ion batteries and the devices you power are designed to function with it. However, if you have a device that is rated for a lower voltage than 14.4V (12V or 10V, for example) use a proper power restricting cable or plate before attempting to connect the battery to avoid damage.

  4. Charge this V-Mount battery exclusively with the included charger.

  5. All Li-ion batteries discharge, slowly, over time when not in use. Be sure to fully charge this battery before use to ensure maximum capacity.

  6. Be safe with your battery and charger. Do not expose them to water or other fluids. Keep them away from fire and high heat (such as a car dashboard on a sunny day).

  7. Please recycle the battery properly when it reaches the end of its useable life. Do not throw it into the trash or into a landfill.

  8. Do not leave the battery connected, in-use, or charging unattended.

  9. Disconnect the charger from AC power and from the battery once charging is complete and the red charging light shuts off.
