STARKLINE PN48164KT Electric Netting Kit
Everything You’ll Need
Check to make sure you have all of the following components
- A. Roll of netting
- B. Energizer
- C. Ground rod
- D. Jumper Clips (2)
- E. Repair kit
- F. Ground stakes
Not Included
Though it is not included, we recommend purchasing a U-post or T-post to
attach your energizer to in order to keep it off of the ground.
Note: your netting, energizer, and/or ground rod may not look identical to the ones pictured above.
Before Setting Up Your Netting
Clear The Fence Line
- Clear the anticipated fence line of tall grass, weeds, brush, or other obstructions.
- Debris making contact with the netting will lower conductivity and overall effectiveness.
Remove Strings From The Netting
- Open up your Starkline electric netting kit and make sure you have all of the components. See page 1 for reference.
- Remove the strings tied around the netting and posts.
Setting Up Your Netting
Lay Out The Posts
- While holding the posts, walk backward and lay out one post at a time; unfold the entire roll of netting.
- Drop each post in the proper sequence along the anticipated fence line.
Insert Posts Into The Ground & Tie Ends Together
- Step each of the posts into the ground.
- For best results, connect the two ends of the netting by tieing the “pigtails” at the end of the first and last post together.
Support Your Netting
Fasten Ropes To The Corner Posts
- Thread the rope through the groove at the top of each corner post and tie it on securely.
Stake Each Of The Ropes Into The Ground
- Tie the ends of each rope to the stakes, pull each line tight, and drive each stake into the ground.
- This prevents your netting from sagging/drooping which could hinder its performance, not to mention look unattractive.
Energizer & Ground Rod
Drive Ground Rod Into The Earth
- Insert the ground rod into the soil within a 20-foot radius of your energizer.
- Try to get the ground rod into the ground as far as you can without obstructing the area where the clips will go.
Attach Energizer
- Attach the energizer to the fence by clamping the positive jumper clip to the metal clips from part 2-B.
- Attach the negative jumper clip to your ground rod.
For more detailed instructions on how to operate & attach your specific energizer, please consult your energizer’s user manual.

Netting Repair Kit
Is one of the wires in your netting snapped or broken? No worries! All Stakline electric netting kits come with one double-sided Litzclip to make repairs fast and easy!
How It Works
Note:
For safety reasons, the fence should NOT have electricity flowing through
it while being worked on.
Dismantling/Moving the Netting
WARNING:
This step is very important! Improperly folding or rolling the netting may
result in serious tangling.
After disconnecting the energizer, walk along the fence and retrieve each post one at a time. As the posts are collected, hold them together and allow the netting to fold itself in half.
Lay the folded net on the ground and roll it toward the posts. Using the tie ropes, tightly tie the roll into a bundle similar to how it was when it came out of the box. DO NOT roll the posts into the netting.
Helpful Tips & Other Info
Displaying A Warning Sign
If any part of your electric netting is installed along the public property,
it must be identified in frequent intervals by warning signs securely fastened
to the fence posts or wires. The sign must be at least 4” x 8”, must have a
yellow background on both sides, and contain a variation of the words
“Caution: Electric Fence”
Using Netting To Contain Horned Animals
Horned animals have a higher risk of becoming entangled in the netting and
should be observed during the training period- that is until they have
interacted with the fence and received a pulse- so they learn not to interact
with the fence.
Avoid “Continuous Current” Fence Energizers
Due to possible fire hazards, do NOT use a “continuous current” energizer with
any electric fence products. Instead, use only low-impedance intermittent
pulse energizers. All Starkline energizers use an intermittent pulse and are
suitable for use with electric netting and other e-fence products.
Hang Netting To Store
Storing netting on the ground could make it easy for rodents to chew through
the rolls causing severe damage to the net. Store the netting far away from
anywhere rodents might be hanging the roll up off of the ground is a good
solution.
