Installation

Installing Holman Home
  1. Download Holman Home to your mobile device via the apple App Store or google-play Google Play

  2. Open Holman Home on your mobile device
    **** You may be prompted to allow notifications–the app can still function if you choose to opt out

  3.  Tap SIGN UP

  4. Read our User Agreement and Privacy Policy and tap AGREE if you wish to proceed

  5. Follow the prompts to register a Holman Home account with your email address.

**** Ensure your country details are correct at this stage

You may be prompted to allow access your location. This allows the app to show weather information it will still function if you choose to opt out.

Add the Wi-Fi Hub to Holman Home
  1. For the setup process, plug your Wi-Fi Hub to a power source near your Wi-Fi router

  2. Open Holman Home and add a new device by tapping plus [a] on the HOME screen

  3. Tap GARDEN WATERING [b] and choose Wi-Fi HUB [c] Tap garden watering

  4. Follow the prompts from Holman Home to work through the Wi-Fi Hub setup process.

This process does not include adding the Wi-Fi Socket

The Wi-Fi Socket will be added to Holman Home as part of the WX2 pairing process–refer to Add the WX2 and Wi-Fi Socket to Holman Home on page 10 for more information

Add the WX2 and Wi-Fi Socket to Holman Home
  1. Install 4x 1.5v AA batteries into the WX2, as indicated in the battery compartment [a] Install battery
  2. Using Holman Home, return to the HOME screen and tap plus + [b] Holman Home
  3. Tap GARDEN WATERING [c] and choose WX2 TAP TIMER [d] Tap water
  4. Follow the prompts from Holman Home to work through the WX2 setup process.

After following the prompts, the Wi-Fi Socket [e] should have also been added to Holman Home as part of this process

To add an additional WX Tap Timer, return to the HOME screen and tap [f] to select the next device and repeat the process

An additional three WX Tap Timers can be added to the Wi-Fi Hub

Positioning your Wi-Fi Hub and WX2 Tap Timer
  1. Unplug your Wi-Fi Hub and move to your planned location
    This must be indoors and within your home Wi-Fi range

  2. Mount your WX2 onto the desired tap with the reducing bush if needed
    The WX2 uses 917 MHz RF to communicate with the Wi-Fi Hub, and must be within a 50m range, line-of-sight.

Operation

  1. Tap WX2 TAP TIMER [a] on the HOME screen devices list
    WX2 Tap Timer Status
    This displays WX2 Tap Timer controls and settings
    By default, Holman Home will display the data and controls for ZONE 1

  2. Tap the ZONE 1 [b] or ZONE 2 [c] to switch between zones on each screen
    Custom names can be applied to each zone by tapping pen [d] next to the desired zone

  3. LAST WATER USAGE [e] uses built-in flow meters within your WX2

  4. For additional information about your WX2 Tap Timer, tap pen [f] in the top right hand corner.

WX2 Tap Timer Manual Controls

MANUAL WATERING is for one-off watering durations

  1. Within the WX2 Tap Timer controls, tap MANUAL WATERING [a] to access manual watering controls

  2. Tap ZONE 1 [b] or ZONE 2 [c] to select as desired

  3. Move the hollow green circle [d] on the dial to set the desired watering duration

  4. Press play [e] to start watering and pause to stop

Manual watering can also be stopped or started for each zone by pressing or on your WX2 Tap Timer.

WX2 Tap Timer Scheduling
  1. Within the WX2 Tap Timer controls, tap STARTS [a] WX2 Tap Timer Scheduling
    This displays the STARTS screen for watering schedules

  2. Tap START A [b] to set one of three schedules as desired
    This reveals START SETTINGS in WATER [c] mode by default

  3. Toggle between 24hr and AM/PM time with the 24 HOUR TIME switch [d]

  4. Tap START TIME [e] to open the clock and set a start time

  5. Tap RUN TIME [f] to open the timer and set a watering duration

  6. Tap each of the days [g] as required to toggle watering days on or off

  7. Tap SAVE [h] to set the desired schedule or chevron-left [i] to return without saving

  8. Within the START SETTINGS, tap MIST [j] for shorter burst intervals

    This displays MIST timing

  9. Use MISTING PERIOD [k] to set the overall duration of the misting program

  10. Use MIST TIME [l] to set the duration for each burst of misting

  11. Use INTERVAL [m] to set the amount of time between each burst

  12. Tap SAVE [n] to set the desired schedule and return to the STARTS screen, or tap chevron-left [o] to return without saving.

  13. Set additional STARTS for B and C [m] as desired

  14. As START SETTINGS are saved, the scheduled times will show on each START

  15. Watering days are indicated at the top of the screen [n]

  16. To manually toggle each START switch [o] on or off as desired

  17. Suspend watering by tapping 24H, 48H or 72H under RAIN DELAY [p] as desired

Wi-Fi Socket Manual Controls
  1. Tap the Wi-Fi SOCKET [a] on the HOME screen devices list

  2. For additional information about your Wi-Fi Socket, tap the pencil icon pen [b] Wi-Fi Socket Manual Controls

  3. Toggle the socket power on and off by tapping the ON [c] or POWER [d] buttons in Holman Home

The Wi-Fi Socket can also be toggled manually using the HUB BUTTON

  1. In the Wi-Fi SOCKET controls, tap SCHEDULE [a] scheduling options

  2. Tap ADD [b] to set a schedule for the Wi-Fi Socket

  3. Use the POWER menu  [c] to switch between ON or OFF schedules

  4. Use the clock wheels [d] to schedule the time of day

  5. Tap REPEAT [e] to schedule days of the week

  6. Tap NOTE [f] to customize the description

  7. Toggle the NOTIFICATION switch [g] to receive alerts when the schedule is triggered

  8. Tap SAVE [h] to set your schedule, or chevron-left  [i] to exit without saving

Socket does not have to be scheduled for the WX2 Tap Timer to work

WX1 Wi-Fi Tap Timer with Wi-Fi Hub [WX1TH]

Compatibility

  • These notes are only relevant if you already have a WX1 Tap Timer with Wi-Fi Hub [WX1TH]

  • Your WX2 Starter Pack includes an upgraded Wi-Fi Hub mk.ii

  • The Hub included with your WX1 Tap Timer is the mk.i version

  • Your WX2 Dual Outlet Tap Timer is not compatible with the mk.i Hub
    Only use the provided mk.ii Hub that is provided in this pack

  • Your existing WX1 Tap Timer is compatible with the mk.ii Hub provided in this pack

  • You can have both the mk.i and the mk.ii Hubs connected to Holman Home

  • For additional support with WX1 Tap Timer compatibility, please contact our Customer Service team

Maintenance

Cold Weather

Your WX2 should be removed from the tap and stored away during winter
Keep your tap timer out of freezing conditions as this can damage internal components

Batteries

 Remove batteries from your WX2 during periods of non-use
Battery leakage can cause corrosion and damage to your WX2

Connection Issues

If your WX2 shows as disconnected after replacing the batteries, please wait a few minutes for Holman Home to update your device status

Warranty

2 Year Replacement Guarantee

Holman Industries offers a 2 year replacement guarantee with this product.

In Australia our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

As well as your statutory rights referred to above and any other rights and remedies you have under any other laws relating to your Holman product, we also provide you with a Holman guarantee.

Holman Industries guarantees this product against defects caused by faulty workmanship and materials for 2 years domestic use from the date of purchase. During this guarantee period Holman Industries will replace any defective product. Packaging and instructions may not be replaced unless faulty.

In the event of a product being replaced during the guarantee period, the guarantee on the replacement product will expire 2 years from the purchase date of the original product, not 2 years from the date of replacement.

To the extent permitted by law, this Holman Replacement Guarantee excludes liability for consequential loss or any other loss or damage caused to property of persons arising from any cause whatsoever. It also excludes defects caused by the product not being used in accordance with instructions, accidental damage, misuse, or being tampered with by unauthorized persons, excludes normal wear and tear and does not cover the cost of claiming under the warranty or transporting the goods to and from the place of purchase.
