INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATION OF ELECTRIC WATER HEATER VIA THE INTERNET

Thank you for your trust as a consumer which you have granted to us by purchasing the electrical appliance with a built-in wireless communication module. The
the only condition for using the inbuilt wireless communication module in TESY appliances is to have a device that is able to connect to Wi-Fi networks and has a reliable Web browser and internet connection.

The water heater is designed to operate only in closed and heated premises where the temperature is not lower than 4°C and it is not designed to operate in a continuous protracted regime.

ORDER OF THE STEPS FOR CONNECTING THE INBUILT WI-FI MODULE IN THE ATESY APPLIANCE TO THE INTERNET

You need to register on www.mytesy.com. If you already have a registration, go directly to SETTINGS OF THE IN-BUILT WIRELESS COMMUNICATION MODULE

Registration on www.mytesy.com.

  1. Open the web address www.mytesy.com in the address bar of the web browser.

  2. You can change language from the drop-down menu located under TESY Brand.

  3. Choose “Register as a new user”.

  4. Fill in the registration form using a valid email address.

  5. You will receive registration confirmation and a link for activation of your
    ACCOUNT. Follow the link to confirm the newly created ACCOUNT.
    Note: If you do not receive an e-mail in your inbox, please check the Spam or Junk folder.

  6. There is an available application tesyCloud for a smartphone or a tablet for both Android and iOS . operating system. The applications can be found in the store’s Google Play and App Store (the device which the application will be installed should be with the latest updated version of the respective operating system or at maximum up to one previous version).

SETTINGS OF THE IN-BUILT WI-FI COMMUNICATION DEVICE

Open the “tesyCloud” app.

In the “E-mail” and “Password” fields enter the email address and password that you have specified and confirmed in your registration on https://www.mytesy.com.

Press the «LOG IN” button.
The main screen of the app opens. Using commands from this screen, you can:
Personalize your user profile;
Add different TESY appliances;
Control the appliances in the list of devices and monitor their current status;
Status indication of the appliance:
– the appliance has reached the set temperature;
– the appliance is heating up;
– the appliance is in “Vacation” mode;
– „BOOST” function is activated;
– the appliance is offline and cannot be controlled remotely;
-the appliance is turned on. Press the button to turn the appliance off;
– the appliance is turned off. Press the button to turn the appliance on;

Custom app settings.
To configure your account press the of the app.

On the screen, you will see the parameters that can be changed at any time, as well as various useful information:
– Theme (light/dark);
– Home screen;
– Privacy & security;

In order to protect your personal data, the “Forget me” function is provided and is available in the “Privacy & Security” menu:

Attention: The selected function will delete Your profile along with all the information stored so far.
The current profile cannot be restored or re-created within the next 24hour period.

– Find a service;
– CONTROL LOCAL DEVICE;
– Language;

To go back to the home screen press again the   button.

Add a Cloud device

To add a device using the mobile app, press the «+» button.
Select the type of device that you want to add:

  • Press the button to turn off the device;
  • Turn on the WIFI module.

Note: Whether the module is switched on is indicated by a steady Wi-Fi symbol on the control panel.

  • Turn on the wireless network of your device;

Note: In order to prevent unauthorized access to the wireless network of your appliance, the network is available (visible) for a period of 5 minutes after the initial power-on or reset. If you exceed this time it is necessary to reactivate/restart the wireless network of your appliance – see „Instructions for use and storage” – „Factory settings reset” function.

  • Press «NEXT»

Manually enter the wireless network name of the device, or scan the QR code.

Note: The wireless network name is case-sensitive.
Note: The QR code and the wireless network name are marked on a label next to the rating plate of the appliance.

Press «NEXT». The app automatically connects to the wireless network of the device.
A new screen opens.

  • Choose your local Wi-Fi network;
  • Enter the password with which it is protected.

Note: If you don’t see your Wi-Fi network in the list of available networks, you need to enter it manually.
When the connection is established, a message is displayed on the screen for a successful connection to your local Wi-Fi network and to the internet. Press „DONE”. The main screen of the app opens. Your device will be added to the list of devices on the main screen.
Note: If an unsuccessful connection message appears on the screen, check that the password for your local network is entered correctly and check the quality and/or availability of the internet service.
Note: To change the name of the device you just added to a name of your choice, click the device in the list of devices and in the screen that opens select the „MORE” button and then the „Set Name” menu.

Add a local device:
To add a device using the mobile app, press the «+» button.

  • Press the button to turn off the device;

  • Turn on the WIFI module.
    Note: Whether the module is switched on is indicated by a steady Wi-Fi symbol on the control panel.

  • Turn on the wireless network of your device;
    Note: In order to prevent unauthorized access to the wireless network of your appliance, the network is available (visible) for a period of 5 minutes after the initial power-on or reset. If you exceed this time it is necessary to reactivate/restart the wireless network of your appliance – see „Instructions for use and storage” – „Factory settings reset” function.

  • Press «NEXT»
    Manually enter the wireless network name of the device, or scan the QR code.
    Note: The wireless network name is case-sensitive.
    Note: The QR code and the wireless network name are marked on a label next to the rating plate of the appliance.
    Press «NEXT». The app automatically connects to the wireless network of the device.

A new screen opens.

  • Select the option “ONLY LOCAL CONTROL”.
  • Set a password to protect the wireless network of your device.
  • Press «NEXT».

A “Setup completed.” The message is displayed on the screen.
Note: To control your device, you need to reconnect to the device manually with the new password. Use the password you entered in step 6.4.

  • Press «DONE».
  • Open the “Wi-Fi” menu on your mobile device.
  • Select the wireless network broadcast by the appliance.
  • Enter the password you set in step 6.4.
  • Press „CONNECTING”.
  • Restart the “My Test” app. Your device will be added to the list of devices on the main screen of the app.

Note: To change the name of the device you just added to a name of your choice, click the device in the list of devices and in the screen that opens select the „MORE” button and then the „Set Name” menu.

Operation via the internet

From the list of registered devices, select the device you want to control.
A screen opens with controls that allow you to select the mode of operation, to monitor the current status of the appliance, to make a detailed reference of the consumed energy.

  1. To be able to operate your device, it must be switched on.

  2. Manual operation mode – press the button.
    Using the slider on the right, you can manually set the degree to which you want the water in the water heater to be heated. During heating, the message “HEATING” will appear on the screen. When the appliance has reached the set value the message “READY” will appear on the screen.

  3. Weekly programmer mode
    – P1 , P2, and P3 The appliance you have purchased is with three built-in weekly program modes. Each of these modes is a weekly schedule for the operation of the electric water heater where the desired temperature of the water is set for each hour of the day and the night, and for all days of the week. The programs can be changed according to your preferences and habits.
    To see the time schedule of each program and to change it, if needed, press the buttons (see P.7).

  4.  “Eco Smart ” mode. In “Eco smart” mode the electric water heater elaborates its own algorithm for operation so as to ensure energy saving, and therefore,
    to reduce your electricity bill and at the same time to keep the comfort in your home while it is being used.
    You can choose between 3 modes: ECO, EC1, or EC2. ECO – Your TESY electric water heater is of the highest energy class. The class of the appliance is guaranteed only when it operates in ECO mode due to the significant energy savings that are generated.
    EC1 – The EC1 mode of operation is intended for users with frequently changing habits for whom an exact schedule of weekly operation would be difficult to establish. You can select the EC1 mode of operation – for a higher level of comfort which again guarantees energy saving, but to a lower extent.
    EC2 – If the operation of the appliance in EC1 mode does not satisfy you, please select the next level of comfort EC2. In EC2 mode the energy saving is lower, but you will be provided with a bigger quantity of hot water even in cases that you have changed the time when you usually take a shower.

  5. Vacation mode
    If you plan to be away from home for more than 1 day, you can enable the Vacation mode so that the electric water heater will “know” when you will be back to provide you with hot water. To enable Vacation mode press the button.
    In the screen that is displayed set the date, time and the desired temperature of the water using the controls on the screen:
    • Select the expected return date;
    • Select the time when you want to have hot water.
    • Select the amount of hot water you want to be provided.
    To disable the Vacation mode, select one of the other modes of operation.

  6. BOOST function.
    When the BOOST function is enabled the water heater will heat the water up to the maximum possible temperature without changing the algorithm of operation of the respective mode of operation, i.e. Without changing the week program, the “Eco smart” control logic or the manually set temperature. When the maximum temperature has been reached the appliance automatically switches to the previously selected mode of operation.

  7. Weekly programmer
    To see the schedule of operation for each of the modes Р1, Р2, Р3 and, if necessary, to change it, press the buttons.
    7.1. A diagram of the weekly schedule of operation of the electric water heater for the selected program opens. Select a day from the diagram to see the detailed schedule and edit the current settings.
    7.2. A new screen opens where you can:
    •Select one of the three programs of operation – Р1, Р2 и Р3;
    • Select day of the week;
    • Scale with equivalent hot water quantity. Using the slider on the scale you can select the preferred reading. ;
    • Bar chart visualizing the setting for operation by hours.
    Algorithm for creating a schedule for operation of an electric water heater:
    **** 1. Select a program of operation – Р1, Р2 и Р3;
    2. Select day of the week;
    3. Select the hot water quantity using the slider on the right of the screen.4. Select the bar for the hour you want to set up. The length of the bar changes and the set hot water quantity is written in it.
    7.3. Using the button in the upper right corner of the screen you can copy the current settings for other days of the week. A new screen opens where you can select all days to which you want to copy the settings

  8. Activity over the past 24 hours.
    The schedule displays information about the operation of the appliance over the past 24 hours.
    • Hourly status (heating, ready, off);
    • Hot water quantity (in temperature degrees or a number of showers).

  9. Additional settings
    Energy calculator – gives information about the consumed power for a specific period of time:
    • Power consumption from the date of the last reset;
    • The counter value can be cleared using the “Reset” button.
    • Detailed information about the consumed energy for the current day, the previous day, for the year.
    Note: In order for the calculator to function correctly you need to select the volume of the electric water heater. For some models, the volume is determined automatically by the app, while for others it is selected from the suggestions in the list on the screen.
    Note: The volume of the water heater is marked on the rating plate of the appliance.
    Note: The calculator is not a precise measuring device. It is a function that gives you information about the consumed energy.
    9.2. Set name – using this menu you can assign a name to each device you control via the app. In the „Device Name” field enter a recognizable name and confirm it with the „SET” button.

    TESY’s team reserves the possibility to change and add new functions in the products with an inbuilt Wi-Fi module, as well as to change the instructions in accordance with the new versions of the software.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you have any problems with your water heater, please contact the service which is added to the warranty card or the dealer from which you have bought the device.

Most frequent problems:

Failed connection to or finding of the Wi-Fi network of the appliance| Check whether the wireless connection symbol on the display is active.
Check whether the appliance is connected to the power supply source.
Get dose to the appliance.
Failed connection to the home WI-Fl network (wireless connection)| Check whether the modem is on.
If you use a laptop, make sure that the switch for the wireless connection, located In the front, the side or the back of the laptop is in ON position
Make sure that you have entered correctly the name of your home network
Walt for about 1 minute and check again whether the connection is successful.
The water heater cannot be seen in the application.| Check whether your router is connected to the Internet.
The appliance has to be connected to the wireless router (modem) in your house (office).
Check whether you have entered correctly the email of your account in the main menu of the appliance’s network.
The water heater is connected correctly, but it does not work| Restart the application.
If the inbuilt wireless module does not find the wireless router (modem)| Use an additional wireless module to enhance the signal of the wireless router (modem).
You have forgotten the password of the wireless Wi-Fi device of the water heater.| If you have forgotten the password for the protection of your network, you will need to use the RESET function of the appliance to restore its factory settings. See Instruction for use and storage, Restore Factory Settings section.
An attempt to restore the factory settings fails.| The appliance has to be switched off from the standby button (it has to be ‘ruminated in white).
Upon opening the mobile application, the main menu Is visualized in the water heater’s network| If upon activation of the mobile application the main menu of the water heater is loaded, and not the dedicated screen for control via the Internet, you need to stop the direct WI-Ft connection with the appliance established through its aerial wireless network TCHxxxxxxxx and then connect to your home network.
